I think it happens because rock and dubstep(and the motherload of all electronic subgenres as well) have a lot in common with rock/metal. Melody, riffyness, buildup, beat...going berserk dancing to it.
WHY DOESN'T THIS HAVE 1 BILLION VIEWS? I'm sure there's about 99% of people in the world who don't even know this song exists, let alone know Seven Lions. And I'm sure 99% of those 99% would absolutely adore this.
Listen on brother. There are some songs that just make me tear up from their beauty. Seven Lions, Sound Remedy, and Adventure Club are so moving it just can't be helped.
