Jewelry Making Techniques with Birthstone Necklace | Micro Welding Series for Permanent Jewelry EP16

In this video, I demonstrate a number of jewelry making techniques:
1. welding drops with fine gold wire
2. wire wrapping an independent briolette drop
3. wire wrapping a drop permanently attached to a frame
4. what to do if the drill hole is too small for a bead, but you want to ball the end of the wire that is too small
5. a way of making an extension chain without using a larger linked chain.
I also demonstrate a design hack of using masking tape to keep components visually well displayed while you are making design decisions.
I made this necklace for the wife of a friend as they are expecting the arrival of their twins to their beautiful family. Each of the drops is a birthstone, representing a member of the family. I attached the stones using solid 14K gold wire with different techniques to create a more interesting piece.
The different power settings I used were:
4w for welding 26ga (0.4mm) solid 14k wire into a loop
7w power to ball the ends of the 26ga (0.4mm) solid 14k wire
