There are several point of checks at Lagos airport. Nigeria 1. Before you pay to pick up your trolley #500, there are army officers trying to get money from you (It is weekend oooo or Monday oooo. 2. Befere you enter the airport - there is a rude person at the door shouting at you and asking for your passport. 3. Entering the airport there are about 4 - 5 people including a person from NDLA trying to check your bags again immediately after the scanner. 4. You go to a early morning tired, frawning and rude person at the scale. 5. You return to a desk where they check your passport and hand you a yellow note (anything for us - you know what that means) 6.You proceed to checking in desk where your luggage is collected and tagged. (its not that bad here) 7 You proceed to your gate, you meet with some ramdom people asking to offer you a Pen to fill in your yellow paper (be ready to pay for the Pen you use oo Nigeria airport what??? what's their name) 8. You continue to another desk where your yellow paper and passport is checked again. (Anything for the guys) 9. You join a line where your documents are check (security) 10. You moved to another desk where your documents are checked again (Immigration) 10. You then proceed to pass the main body and bag scanner Imaging, I am getting tired of typing, what happens in reality.... 11. After that scanning that is working or not, they still pat everyone down. 12. Of course, if your bag shows anything, they search it again. (You can pay to....) 13. You moved away going to your gate, you will be called by another 4-5 immigration officers (money matter no matter what) Before you board 14. Your boarding pass is checked again at the desk 15. You are pat down again 16. Your hand luggages are checked again. 17. You fly Then, after some wait, you can proceed to boarding. WOW. 16 levels of check. Another country: 1. You pass through desk for documents check 2. You go through body and luggages scanner - if anthing beeps, they pat you down. 3. You proceed to boarding - Boarding pass checks. 4. You fly... God help us in Nigeria with Mercy
The FAAN, NIS and Customs are the culprits here! They make the process so burdensome so, they can extort travellers! Yet, they wonder why pple don't want to visit Nigeria!🙄
How are we addressing the issue of double passport check by FAAn and NIS which can really reduce the time spent processing each passenger. Also the reorientation of airport staff to stop asking passengers for tips. It doesn’t make them come across as professionals.
Maintenance is your problem. This is not the first time our airport has been renovated. Let's see in a year. We brood of vipers in human form, stubbornly corrupt to core and lacking maintenance culture.
This is why someone needs to be hired with a team of maintenance guys on call at all time with walkie talkies, spare parts rooms and golf carts. Omo I can't shout, these things are done abroad, it's not rocket science.
Good work. But what they also need to look at is the number of officials just standing by the desk or walking around doing nothing. An airport should only have officers that need to be there. They should go to London Heathrow Airport and look at how they do these things, you only need one officer per desk. Also do the officials still ask for money ? Also maintain and improve it with time. Also any trains to the airport ?
As a man who once supretended the NIS, this indeed likes going to the moon - facilitating passenger clearance without compromising security. I am a strong believer in beauty that works. I sincerely commend CIS Adeola for her vision and Shell for their magnanimity.
I mistaken came across this video out of curiosity. i decided to watch the whole thing. First of all, everyone who thinks this is a step in the right direction, wait until you go through on a busy day. 1. The worst part about it is that the room is still cramped. 2.The inclined/decline path is too narrow. 3. Why are all the computers off? 4. What holistic approach? 5. The fake flowers and the big ass passport thing is taking up unnecessary space? 6. What history is being made? 7. Talking about LED lights like thats a unique feature? 8. Those 1990s chairs... why why?? Pros: I'll say i love the display of various ethnic groups on what i think is the walls and pillars. Thats a very good touch and give people something to read thats interesting.
It is good to see this development in the Airport in Lagos. The next most desired development is the attitudinal change of the workforce in the Airport. It is about time that Nigerians traveling in and out of Nigeria enjoy what they enjoy when they true in and out of airport around the world. All staff working in the airport must show dignity and respect for all passengers and ask nothing of them for services rendered. This is demeaning, embarrassing and shameful. The Airport is a transit point and not a bargain center. Hopefully the current Minister of Aviation and interior are both exposed to what happens in airports across the world. There must be in place discipline for Airport Staff that bring the image of the country down. The attitude of staff in the international airports across the country must be uniform and passengers traveling through any of the airports must be appreciated by the airport staff because without the passengers they will not be unemployed.
The term "disabled" on the signpost appears somewhat derogatory; I recommend changing it to "people living with a disability." Overall, you are doing a commendable job. Thank you
What of lifts? I can see many stairs and if someone is carrying heavy luggage how will they walk up the stairs, I hope they put lots of ramps. Congratulations to them.
One of the important things to do is train airport staff on how to treat members of the public with respect. Especially fellow Nigerians. They show STOP asking for money 💰
Good work so far but you guys should not be excited yet. Take your time to train all the airport staffs including the immigration officers. Professionalism in their conducts should be the watchword. All our national land borders should be visited also. Instead of demanding better leadership from the top, let’s also as citizens visit our police offices, public schools, port authorities and help them to upgrade. Let’s go to our various communities and teach and equip our public officials. Let’s hurry up, time is gone.
Why no international Airport in igboland. Must we stop at lagos before commencing our journey to the igboland? If Nigeria doesn't need us the igbo people, they should free us so that we will build our LAND. Why all this suffering?
In 2016 (at about 2:10am on Dec 20 to be precise), We arrived MM2 from Ivory Coast via Air Cote d'Ivoire, I was so ashamed to be a Nigerian. 1. The NIS officers at the desk spent about 10 mins per person (asking "what did you bring" after other questions) 2. The others NIS/Customs officers just after the baggage claim were sleeping with their uniforms hung on the walls! 3. The baggage handling system was down, bags were practically thrown down from the hole. 3. a White guy took out his phone and started recording everything I was ashamed! We all had just connected and boarded via Cote d'Ivoire with a very small airport but absolute professionalism and service. In 2017, I Japa'ed. I have one life. I do not intend to live and die without witnessing good services or waiting on the lord to change the country. No.
Rwanda 🇷🇼 is spending $700 to build a brand new airport and the so called giant of Africa keeps remodeling airports every year. That’s why I always laugh when people talk about Lagos. Nigeria has absolutely nothing to offer when it comes to down to infrastructures. They have been talking about Eko Atlantic for over 20 years now and yet, nothing is going on the said project. It’s such a shame that no city from Nigeria is listed among the best ten cities in Africa. Our politicians are shameless and visionless
I travelled through Rwanda Air recent in September and it is same as Benin city airport. Nothing in Rwanda air, it is so small and useless. I will never in my life fly through Rwanda airport again Customers services of thst air in Rwanda is none existence. You can't compare any airport in East Africa to the worst airport in Nigeria. You people should be ashamed of yourself for comparing Rwanda air to Lagos international airport. Where would Rwanda ger monet to renovated and modernised his Airport at Kigali?
If you have any decorum to keep yourself informed, you will see that November this year, Lagos State govt began the construction of a new airport in Lekki Lagos. When that is completed then learn to put some respect on the name Lagos. Nigeria is not what it should be but you folks who pull Nigeria down and damage Nigeria's image abroad are worse than the politicians
I hope there's a place to sit before boarding? Last time I was forced to buy a food that I never really need before I can get a place to sit down. 😡😡😡😡😭😭😭😭😭
Hmmmm. We are beginning to get it together. What a committed group can achieve. Well I have being an ardent expectant of change to the whole concept of 9ja what it represents. THANKS FOR THIS start to change. Marginal it may seem, if it's persistent & it keeps touching other areas..I am sure, hope ll naturally be renewed without even singing about it. KUDO S
I traveled through in late September, i was so happy. But please re orientate your officers to stop begging for money, harassing passengers unnecessarily.
I wasted my data. Pointing to installation of Led lights at Airport? Nigeria is truly a Third-world country. You see all these things all over places in developing and advanced countries.
I hope those immigration officers will not start wearing bathroom slippers and keeping plastic bowls everywhere....lol. Great work by the Immigration Team and the project sponsors.
Have they increased the staff salaries, atleast to stop them being annoying n be cruel especially when departing. Although greedy one will still be greedy even with 1M salary. But invest on Nigerians too if not infrastructures we be useless
Them are friendly and happiness smile on camera. But when you to go through there with them their eyes will red and very angry when they are talking with. Very annoying and frustrating
They did well , good job The airport staffs should stopped being a beggers, after picking your baggage the immigration officers packed all their wife's and family extracting money from travellers ,is too embarrassing , is shameful , corruption is too much in Nigeria airport , it annoying 🙄 😒 😑 😐 😳.
I dont care how many times this airport gets an update, teach these officers & employees to stop bribery, stop trying to scam people & stop saying " you have anything for us"🙄. No i dont unless u want to pay for my bills 🙄🤨
This is really a sign Nigeria is getting better.. God bless Everyone with Good intentions

They don’t want you leaving that country 😂
How are we addressing the issue of double passport check by FAAn and NIS which can really reduce the time spent processing each passenger. Also the reorientation of airport staff to stop asking passengers for tips. It doesn’t make them come across as professionals.
That's exactly what this terminal is addressing. No more checks for Nigerians coming in.
Absolutely great work by the project team. I’m super honored to be part of the committed team who have put this together.
I love what I'm seeing. My last visit was very bad. I will wish to visit again to see and experience it myself.

True. Spot on 💯👍
Spot on. But unfortunately that will never happen. They still collect money there like agbero
Will they fix the lights on the outside sign that actually says Muritala Mohammed, Airport? The light on many of the letters are gone!
I was in Lagos last week, and ghis was not what i went through. These people are deceiving us all.
The term "disabled" on the signpost appears somewhat derogatory; I recommend changing it to "people living with a disability." Overall, you are doing a commendable job.

Did i just see new carousel/conveyor belt in the background covered in blue tape??????. Please enlightene me😮

Why is the reporter himself not properly Mic'ed up?
Why is the camera man/woman not following the guy’s description with Camera?
See changes o. When you have people with ideas in charge. Pls, maintenance is a must and should be the priority.
The camera man could have filmed around while the interview is going on
This is only one side of the airport, the left arrival Hall, not the whole airport
Please what terminal is this ? Is this the old or new terminal?
Old terminal my friend
Good job
Yet we had to sit on the floor while waiting for flights 😅
