Insane suggestion make the Lord paramount positions an appointment not hereditary (similar to byzantium) to avoid unworthy children gaining power and causing trouble. Meaning if for example the next hightower was no good, apoint a tarly or redwyne or rowan or florent, whoever is the better and more loyal person.
All Hail; King Jasper, First of His Name, of House Lane, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, the First Men, and the Freefolk, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Conqueror of the North, the Stepstones, and the Lands of Always Winter, "The Jackass".
I would use the chaos at the end of the show as an opportunity to start centralising authority. Firstly I'll annex the reach and move my seat to highgarden using the excuse that kings landing is destroyed and i need a new capital and highgarden is unoccupied. Then I'll annex dorne using the excuse that with the death of the martells and the sand snake coup the succession is unclear (I'll just have that guy at the council killed silently before he leaves and pray to rhllor that the dornish don't rebel). If they do rebel, i am not marching in. If the targaryens with dragons couldn't succeed, im definitely not. Then I'll annex the stormlands using the excuse that gendry is a bastard and he was only legitimised by someone who never sat the throne. This would probably cause a war but with the reach and crownlands and hopefully dorne and with the stormlands being weak after the blackwater I'll probably win. As for tbe other kingdoms i don't have convenient excuses as with tyrion i cant justifiably say that he committed treason against dany if i say dany was never the queen, so i cant annex the westerlands, and i have no casus belli for the north, riverlands, vale or iron isles either but I'll figure something out. I'll probably tell yara she's allowed to raid the north to hopefully provoke the north into attacking me so i can invade (I'll use the ironborn or reach navies to circumvent moat cailin). If i win, i still won't annex the north as its disconnected from the rest of my crownlands and i don't want to seem too tyrannical, so instead I'll partition it between yara, the riverlands and the vale with a northern rump state being established in the north east under literally any bolton or bolton loyalist can find. The goal here is to divide and conquer, have the north too focused on those i partitioned with rather than me. I'll also scheme against my vassals to make sure they don't decide to fight a war against me. I'll pit tyrion/cersei arse kissers against tyrion, I'll see whether edmure favours the brackens or blackwoods and prop up the other, for the iron isles my work is probably done for me with how patriarchal they are which only leaves the vale which i can't really think of someone to distract robin arryn. The mountain clansmen are too much of a loose cannon and i can't be seen to be openly supporting savages whom reject my rule, harry the heir is never mentioned in the show, and the royces seem very loyal in the present story. My small council will be the following: hand of the king: whoever the head of house hightower is. I need to keep the reach on side as thats where my power base is and it seems the hightowers are the strongest surviving house so I'll make them the second strongest house in the realm. Master of ships: the redwynes, essentially for the same reason as the hightowers. Master of coin: I'll talk to davos and see if he can convince tycho nestoris to be my master of coin. Davos will be my master of diplomacy which is a new position im creating. My master of laws will be bronze yohn royce. My master of whispers will be kinvara. Speaking of kinvara I'll use the blowing up of the sept by cersei as an excuse to declare that the seven are clearly false gods and will convert to rhllor. I won't be super aggressive about spreading rhllor however nor will i burn people, but if you speak against me, im seizing your sept and money. As for marriage, with my conversion to rhllor, I'll look for someone in essos who looks valyrian and worships rhllor. The hope is to hopefully breed dragon riding genes into my family. Surely not every single valyrian who isnt a targaryen has lost the dragon riding gene.
The True master plan is thus: 1. Absorb the Riverlands into the Crownlands. Move the capital to Harrenhal. 2. Move the Iron Islanders to the the isles on the east shore of Westeros, including Dragonstone. Have them exclusively raid Easos. Put the Greyjoys in charge of the navy. 3. From now on, incentivize every house in Dorne to only intermarry into houses from the other kingdoms. This will better intergrate Dorne into Westeros. 4. Establish shipping routes from the Reach to the North to transport food. This will ensure the North becomes dependent and loyal. Especially during winter.
@Rebel_Lord_Taron Stupid auto correct.I fixed that only for it to turn into something else wish I wasn't so bad at paying attention😄 Good to see you.I hope you're doing well
I look forward for your long and prosperous reign, your grace! I would probably attack the North at first opportunity, because they are comparatively even more devastated by the recent wars compared to the rest of the Seven Kingdoms. Edit: Never mind, Bran's going to betray you at your first opportunity.
I mean you probably would become a tyrant pretty quickly... idk You give me that impression :) But in all honesty you may be overreaching, there are plenty of ways to probably become very influential without becoming a warmonger, I mean you could try to set up a new banking system for example to rival the Iron Bank (I mean if Bailish is dead you have to use those assets)... And with the power of money you might become a lot more influential than just rebuliding and war. LOVE your chanet btw
Excellently thought through, though I would add something. The creation of a military academy in the south of the Crownlands. It can function as a garrison, while also training soldiers that would be groomed to take positions in the employ of the crown, where they can be raised to knighthood after 3-4 years. The immediate reason of creating an army independent of the influence of other lords aside is that it can act as a buffer between the Crownlands and the Stormlands. Gendry might succeed or fail, but the Stromlands declaring independence causes a significant problem, given their proximity, so a hub that can house spies and scouts who also function as instructors would be useful. Especially if you don't trust leaving transparency on the matter to Bran.
5:43 I know, instead of giving it to the Florents, who are weakened from supporting Stannis, meaning that they will have to spend their early reign scrambling together a reach powerbase, I KNOW, I'll give to to the Hightowers, the family that is arguably, the wealthiest house in the entire realm, second to the Lannisters, and make them even richer, so that they can do the very thing I just said I don't want happening. Very weird choice ngl 15:16 A Manderly....who owe the Starks everything. They are diehard loyalists. Pick a Ryswell or something. At the very least, they were once allied to the Boltons. The Manderlys are literally the least likely to help. Mate, just marry Sansa. That way you tie Robert Arryn and Edmure Tully and the North to you. 3 kingdoms for one. It's a no brainer.
@@shrimp3rjr413 A misunderstanding, in the first part. While I do give the Hightower’s the title of lord Paramount I do not give them Highgarden. Florent would be a good choice to give Highgarden though since they lost their ancestral seat (assuming book stuff somewhat transfers to the show) though I am not a big fan of the Florents even if they did support Stannis. You are correct that the Manderlys are indeed very loyal to the Starks in the books however the show seems to portray them a bit more on the fence. After all they didn’t swear to defend the Starks and fight against the Boltons. Though to be fair they didn’t side with the Boltons either but I get the feeling they are not as loyal as the book counterparts. As for wedding Sansa I feel as though that would make for a boring video but also I question if she would agree to it because of some reasons mentioned above in the video.
@@JasperLane So to clarify, would the other lords still be sworn to House Hightower. If so, they are still making a lot of money via taxes from their vassals, leading to them becoming more powerful than the crown. Also, I see your point, but House Manderly are more Andals with their FotS worship than they are northmen. Don't think it's wise to name a former southren house as Lords of Winterfell. Could cause more issues. The only other FotS house in the north are the Whitehills. Literally everyone else is old gods. As a compromise, you could simply have White Harbour be sworn directly to you instead of the North, reducing the value the north would get from it, as you would get direct tax from the Manderlys, not the Lord Paramount of the North. And yes, Sansa is gonna be hesitant, but you would be competing with her past husbands, who were: An inbred sadist who killed her dad and made her look at his head. A skin flaying rapist, who's family nearly wiped out her family. Unless you are literally book Euron, you'll be fine. Could even be interesting. Would she want to stay at Winterfell despite being queen? How would you navigate her past trauma with need for an heir. It also means that the STAC (Stark, Tully, Arryn, Crownlands) alliance could be a deterrent against the Hightowers, if you are dead set on that.
With all the instability in the regions it could be a good opportunity to centralize power. Your Colonies beyond the Wall could be made directly under your control or through a governor in your stead which was not hereditary but solely obeyed your will. I don’t think anyone would object to this as the colonies would be costly and not super productive…yet. That could change especially since you have the wealth of the 6 or 7 Kingdoms to develop them. The colonies would also give the war refugees and impoverished new opportunities which will put some small folk instability at ease. In terms of the seven kingdoms, if you were gonna try and centralize you should start in the crown lands . Small, no super powerful lords, and in the vicinity. (Less Costly Army Movements if some force is required)
As King I would create a single Royal Code that would be the law of the land and create Justiciars, men of low birth or minor nobility, to travel throughout the realm as essentially roving magistrates that would wield my authority.
