Mannnn…. Morrigan’s changes depending on Kieran and the warden were one of my favorite parts of Inquisition. Sure they didn’t drastically change the story but they were something. It’s so sad to me Morrigan is back but those changes aren’t going to matter….
I guess Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 are no longer considered in Veilguard. I have a bad feeling that the default worldstate of Veilguard is: The warden refused Morrigan and her son was never born, Hawke died in the fade. Is it wrong I hope there will be patches or updates for Veilguard in the future?
@@xer_7438 From what they've been saying, it seems those choices simply won't be addressed at all. Not canonized one way or another.
@@technology5979honestly not addressing Morrigan having an 20 year old son or Varric’s best friend dying when both characters are right there is the same as saying neither thing happened to me. I refuse to believe either could be irrelevant to the character.
Ill vouch for caitie being a rabid dog i think she may have bit someone when we were told to turn off the computers!

No, the Ghilanain thing bothers me too. It’s like when you do the dog conversation with Merrill in DA2 and she calls the Dread Wolf “Fen Harrel” where it almost sounds like “Fen Harold.” Like, it almost doesn’t sound like elven.
The Ghilan'nain thing is giving lazy to me, correcting the pronunciation can't have been that much of an effort
I hope the part the Caitie is disappointed about is that Solas is a brunette lol
I think it may be the amount of choices we are getting imported, which leaked.
Hmmm I think the thing Caitie can't talk about is something regarding setting the worldstates. If what I've seen is true it's incredibly disappointing, no matter how excited I am for Veilguard :( I'm really upset about it but I will still play the game and enjoy it (hopefully)
If you look at that leaked image there are 5 tabs/pages and you only saw the last section in that image. It looks a lot more comprehensive than that image leads us to believe.

I am hoping that they can't talk about that part of the CC because they didn't implement the choices in the UI yet, but... 😭
@@purplecritter That’s what another person said that the previous game options wasn’t completely done. But there’s like 5 screens they had built. That’s why they can’t talk about it.
@@AeschylusShepherd I'm still on copium, because otherwise three choices, which aren't even detailed enough to include nuance about romance or Inky's relationship with Solas (did Solas hate them? did Solas respect them? it doesn't boil to the last decision), it will be so disappointing. Like no Well? No mention of Hawke or Warden, even though we will meet Varric, potentially Isabella, even tho we will go to Weissheupt? Who rules south? Who is the emperor/empress? Who is the divine? Like... I don't know.
She just confirmed that was the case on the bird app.
Didn’t they (BioWare) lay off Mary Kirby the writer who wrote Lucanis Dellamorte (the mage killer) as well as fan faves like Varric?
Correct, what we see of Lucanis and Varric in Veilguard is quite literally her last work for Bioware.
They did, and its a huge shame. She and a few others are in a court case to win better severance, and I wish all of them well tbh.

Neves voice acting in the beginning area seems a bit flat does it get better or does she get more emotion as it goes on?

Hey, I would gues that the 3rd thing that upset you is that decisions from previous games almost don't mattet. That only two choices from Trespaser are included. Its already leaked on Reddit and part of me still hopes there is more to it. Hope Bioware lifts NDA on it, since there is no point hiding it now, it just makes things worse :(.
I really hope there's EA footage somewhere that shows all the desks and then Caitie's empty desk lol. It was actually Ghil Dirthalen at the event, she was there in spirit form so it didn't get picked up by the camera, that's all.
Really enjoyed this! I'm really looking forward to the game, but I am seeing conversations about how world state choices aren't as detailed as Dragon Age Keep. If so, I'm going to be disappointed, but I'll still play the game because I'm one of the "faithful" lol.
From the leak on reddit where one UA-camr posted a video of that interface, it seems only two Tresspaser decision matter and who we romanced which is a shame.

1. How would you rate the music we’ve heard so far?
2. Will 'Arrival on Arrakis' play when the Wardens show up?
3. And on a bigger note, how crucial is the musical score for you when shaping the world, especially compared to past BioWare classics?"

I mean people are posting full cutscenes. They should realize that probably has spoilers but no, they aren't even trying to avoid them at times
I hate they are doing that! Trying to run the game for those of us who want to play it!
@AeschylusShepherd I'm not thinking that's the motivation, and I doubt I'll get any less joy for what's been spoiled for me. It's all pretty early stuff that I've seen. Still, it's pretty inconsiderate.

The way Caitie talked about the puzzles at the main hub makes me think that it's gonna be like Professor Layton and each time you solve one it reveals another page of Solas' secret dream journal/diary. lmao (Or that's just wishful thinking lol)
Caitie's disappointment probably refers to the fact that you get to only pick 3 choices from Inquisition for your world state. No choice for the Divine, no choice for Well of Sorrows. Pretty important decisions from Inquisition seem to not matter at all nor will be referenced.
One of the features of Ray tracing is that objects consistently reflect environmental light. So it shouldn't just happen with hair, but presumably the hair is a bit shiny and more reflective than other stuff..
So if you turn RT off, you might get more fixed colours.

Origins dark tones-so many! Choosing a king or last minute betraying that potential king, the warden knife throw to a scholar, Connor choice, siding with elves over werewolves etc. dao and da3 you can make a deal with demons. Inquisition you can but it was lacking. Are there dark to evil choices somewhat like these

Origins did have a dark tone... lots of them. The dark browns and greys.... the dark orangey-black colors of the deep roads.... lots of darkness.
They've definitely implied companions can die, but they've also stated that we need all our companions to succeed... Now we have inkling of a fail state. Yup... *panics*
I actually really love this and hope it’s the case. Nothing has been quite like playing the ME2 suicide mission before everyone had it labbed out and it’d be great to have something similar again.
@@ducky36F same, the ending to ME2 is so great because of those aspects and it's a shame they never did something similar again.
I'd love to see that too, but I highly doubt they will. Ex:difficulty settings can be set to 0 essentially. I doubt they'd not let you fail in gameplay but let you fail in story and kill companions.
I think At most they'll be "damaged", have some brusing texture on their character model with a few "I'm mad" dialogue lines.
Hope I'm wrong tho, I love the idea of harder story consequences
@@NAR106 I mean being real you’re probably right.
But just why I don’t think not being able to fail in gameplay doesn’t necessarily exclude “fail” states in the story, from what I understand the super easy difficulty settings are there for the portion of the player base that basically plays these games like they are dating sims, just for story and for people that struggle to play games in general etc.
These sort of reasons don’t apply to putting fail possibilities in the writing. Especially if they telegraph them.
@ducky36F that's a fair argument-def possible. But between the difficulty settings and the previews where every story item is a bright orange light like the sun.......I just worry it signals a core design philosophy of "don't challenge the player, it may upset them".

For Jordan: Mage can Parry with the Dagger/Orb weapon; Staff gets a shield that flat blocks. Funnily enough, Warrior's Champion specialization seems like the most Parry-centric specialization in the game, moreso than Duelist, from what I can tell based on the passives, traits and abilities.

Why only three choices carry over from inquisition? And why did they waste one with who the inquisitor romanced? The well of sorrows decisions seems way more important than that.

I really hope (cope) what is leaked turns out to not be the full thing in the final game. How hard would it have been just to have a tab for each of the three games with like 5 choices each just to make us feel better like come on??? I really struggle to see how Morrigan (and Anora) can feature in the game but nothing from DAO comes up? Heck same deal how can Varric feature in the game but Hawke doesn’t come up at all?
@@ducky36F If it is real, then even Inquisitor's relationship with Solas isn't properly acknowledged, and I'm not talking about the romance. There was nothing shown that would imply if they hated each other, or respected each other - and it does not boil down to a choice to redeem him or stop him at any cost.

Scrolling though UA-cam makes me at times so sad when there seems to be so many videos of oh its gonna be bad and I didn't like this and this looks awful. I’m not bothered at all with the choices we will need to make in DAV. Just know these game reviewers did not see everything in the game. After 10 years I’m ready to jump in to Northern Thedas! Remember were in an entirely new areas we only heard about. We’ve left behind Feraldan, Orlais, and the Free Marches!

The gasp moment is gonna be a "alister vs hawke" choice in the form of "mages vs templairs". Such as you have two factions fighting and whichever faction you don't choice goes with the bad guys. Either that or it's something like varric vs inquisitor, inquisitor vs Dorian, Dorian vs sten. Maybe Divine vs black divine and the black divine is Dorian, so Cassandra, liliana, vivianne vs Dorian.
why not call the podcast

I like that the hair colour changes on the lighting. I find blonde hair in particular to always look banana yellow no matter the situation in a lot of games

I don't know how it's not a game breaker... you can't even select whether hawke is still alive!
Because I can still handwave in my head that these things are in my canon and hawke is out there still, they just don't show up for this game and is therefore not immediately relevant.
But yeah I agree it is not ideal...
They are bringing back Morigan, but not the decision who drank from Well of Sorows, which is shame.

Huge red flags for me.
I’m sorry team those plot lines were *not* finished in DAI they cannot tell me they were. They had 10 years to finish the game and they couldn’t even address two of the easiest and most relevant decisions? (Hawke/the surviving warden simply being at Weishaupt for 5 minutes and giving Solas a moment of control over Morrigan/the Inquisitor was all they needed to do)
I will ask for Catie's signature (while looking at her rabid dog mode) if I ever see her in person. 🥺
I haven't listened to this yet. Can anyone tell me how spoiler-y this is? I have actively been trying to avoid DA.V spoilers after that blunder on the gameplay reveal.

Not really- face scars and body scars are two different things, and there is a toggle for top surgery scars. But you cant have two face or body scars 😞
They put a Vitiligo slider in the character creation but they still can’t make them BOOTY FULL?
I don’t like the big Qunari forehead because it’s goofy rather than intimidating and in fact the big Qunari head reminds me of that Mike Myers film ‘So I Married An Axe Murder’ where the Scottish father is telling his son “Heed! Move!” Because his son is blocking the soccer on tv with his big head… “

The coverage is all so nausiaitingly positive from so many previews. It's creates such a large disconnect, because it doesn't cover any of people concerns over the changes they made since inquisition. More trying to ignore critique and hope it goes away. Like that ever works.
Like being the first DA, where you have zero control over party. Other than, trust us guys, you don't know what you want, we know what you want.
As a matter of facts, I have seen quite a few channels already addressing these things after they got their hands on the preview. The major common critique that I see across those channels is that fights are provably too hectic with the huds and particles and enemies and indicators everywhere. They say the fights are fun, but too much is going on already that they feel like the decision to strip you of the ability to control your companion is the right choice. Some say that voice acting of some characters is a bit weird. Some people are concerned about writing for some reason, and most of the channels and journalists have also addressed that they like what they’ve seen so far with the dialogue, pacing, and lore. Wolfheart says that the game is fun but might get boring easily. Art style also got addressed differently depending on each person’s preference. Visual is praised. So I don’t know what else that you feel is left out without addressing or criticism.
Regarding the gameplay I think the trailers kind of show what they’re going for and why you wouldn’t be able to control your companions.
If you’re looking for more critiques rather than people being excited, (which frankly I think people just being excited is refreshing personally), I’d recommend wolfheart and slandered gaming for good faith critiques
I haven't been too sold on the voice acting - the companions have mostly American accents and from what I've seen of Bellara, Neve, and Harding their voices don't do it for me. Also feelsbad for Jordan not getting his hands on the game.

Neve, Emmrich and Davrin have British accents. We’re not in Southern Thedas anymore.

34:00 I'm a bit disappointed in the CC (from what I've seen). While there is a lot of great options, I wanted to make a Rook that had more curves and not for any perv reasons. It's not just "horny" people that want to make a Rook with different body types that are in the curvier/larger side. Like bigger boobs and butt and I'm disappointed we can't. I thought since they took inspiration from The Sims when it came to the character creator there would be a bit more flexibility and I like what's there but yeah :/
