Thank you for being brave enough to wear the tankini in the video. I really like being able to see what things look like on a real body as opposed to a mannequin.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for modelling this collection, so great to see it in motion - you look gorgeous! This might just inspire me to give swimwear a go! 😆
Give it a try! You may surprise yourself!
I’m 74 and do water exercises and love it! I get good exercise without the possibility of falling or hurting myself. Also, I learned a few years ago from the Knees over Toes program that walking backwards, especially in the water stops my knee arthritis from hurting. It takes about 3 days to reverse the pain.
Thanks for those tips, Kathy!
That is a great endorsement for more water fitness!
Oh, that is so good to know! I have been looking for some water exercises in the last few days for the same reasons. It's exciting to know what actually works!!
If you are over 65, Silver Sneakers will pay for more than one gym so you can do them 4-5 times per week. Different teachers have different methods so you can do more dancing on a couple days and more arm or leg exercises on other days.
@@kathygann7632 My insurance switched from Silver Sneakers to something else which name I forget. However, they did assure me that the new one had the same benefits so I will definitely look into that. Perhaps one of the gyms has a pool so I could do pool walking until it gets too cold to do that. I know if I exercise, I could look as good in the Clearwater Swim Suit. I would sure love to sew that for myself.
Thanks again for more info. We are of similar age so it pays to chat with others in the same age range.
All those pieces are really cute. You looked great in your tankini. Seeing you in the dresses reminded me that you used to be a cheerleader- I can definitely see that. The chocolate brown shorts were perfect on you.
Your plaid dress was stealing the spotlight a little bit in this video. It is darling. I love that pop of blue at the neck.
I guess the cheerleader never really leaves you!
Love this pattern, and I love you in the bathing suit. You are brave and you deserve a huge🎉🎉🎉🎉for doing it. If anyone is nit nice, ask them to post a picture of them in a bathing suit on social media. I would love to try it but my boobs used to be on the large size, but now they are travelling south, so i need lift and support. But we will see.
Thanks for being brave❤️❤️
Thank you for those sweet words!
They all look fabulous on you Whitney Looks like a great pattern. Thanks for sharing 🙋🏼🏴
You are so welcome!!
Cute swim motion when modeling, and the suit looks good. Loved your ‘be kind’ comment too…. You’re so bubbly today. Full of fun! Needed that to end my busy day…
Thank you so much 🤗
All of the swim pieces look great!
Thank you!!
Super, super cute! I love these and now I need to get the pattern! I have to say, every time I watch one of your videos I learn something. Thank you so much for the video, Whitney!
Always learning and challenging our brains!!
Same here and I've had a needle in my hand for one thing or another since I was a kid many decades ago. Never too old to learn.
Cute swimwear/workout wear. Have a great vacation!
Thank you! Will do!
You look great in all of these garments. Its good to see the garments on a body.
Thank you!
All your Clearwater makes are beautiful. You look fantastic in your tankini.
Thank you so much!
Adorable on you!
Thank you so much!
Great collection. Thanks for modeling it ❤ looks awesome and very practical
My pleasure 😊
Thank you for showing your makes. They look fabulous! It was really helpful to hear the layers you used for the bra. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
That is such a versatile pattern!l This is really all the pattern I need for swim and athletic wear. I love your "marmalade" color tennis dress. It looks awesome on you and you certainly don't look naked. 🙂
Thank you! I may have to play a little tennis too!
The tankini looks great on you. I love the dresses as well. I have some swimsuit fabric that I think I will make the dress out of.
You should! It's a great pattern!
My favorites were the dark. Top and brown shorts, and the swin 😊suit.😊😊❤ But all of are nice. Love your hair.
Thank you!!
All the pieces look amazing on you. Thank you for your discount code.
You are so welcome!
Love your makes very inspiring and you look fab in them.
Thank you so much!
I have a possibly weird question about the tankini. There’s ease at the hem, and I wonder what happens when these get wet - does the hem start floating, uh… up? The tankini that I’ve bought from Land’s End has a lining that you tuck into your swim bottoms, and I’ve found that that is really needed for when you’re actually swimming. Thanks so much for all the details and the modeling. You look great (also, at least in the camera view, you definitely don’t look naked).
I like the idea of the lining being tucked in to your bottoms. I thought about putting an elastic at the bottom of the tankini to avoid it moving up. That's what I do with the rashguards that I swim laps in the outdoor pool with.
@@carolinedelisle589 In my store bought tankini, the lining has the elastic, but not the tankini itself. The elastic has to be measured for an upper hip girth, NOT waist though, or it will try and creep up to the waist. It’s not as simple as I thought.
That's such an interesting design detail! I haven't had this tankini in the water yet so I can't say for sure, but I can let you know. I hope to take it swimming this weekend!
Swimsuit looks great on you.
Oh thank you!
Thank you for putting on that tankini on video - it's super helpful to see how it looks on a real body (and you and I have similar body shapes, so I know how cute this will be on!) This would be a great summer "adventure" dress. I like the idea of a full bust front - that would work for me too.
Give it a try! I think you will like it!
I’m sure I’ve said this before (like every time 😆) but here goes…Love Notions has hit it out of the park on this one! To say I’m over-the-moon for the Clearwater Summer Essentials collection is an understatement! I do aquacise classes for M.S. patients and the two pieces (tanking top with biker shorts bottom) are exactly what I need!!! Raspberry Creek is also a favorite of my sewing group and their swimwear knits are fantastic as are all their fabric substrates. I obviously don’t walk or play tennis 🦼, but, I’m heavily into flower gardening and I’m thinking the dress version - in a swimwear fabric - will be the perfect garment to get out there in the early morning and spend all day tending to my flowers! I often grab the garden hose just to spray myself off…what could be more perfect! By the way, you look amazing in all three variations modeled, Whitney! Good luck on that reverse lazy river walk! 🩱❤
Wonderful! It would be perfect pattern for teaching because everything stays put if you need to assist your students in the pool!
Re: gardening. When we get back to normal summer weather ( wet & cool here), the idea of wearing swimwear fabric & hosing off is a good one! I have a cooling long sleeved top, should make swim shorts to go with.
Thanks for modeling! I ordered a swimsuit pattern, task was to cut it out today. Being longwaisted & full busted, shopping for suits is not fun! Thanks for the recommendation re: Raspberry Creek.
I just finished my first swimsuit on the weekend and started swimming daily in the local outdoor pool. I wipped up a rashguard to go with it yesterday afternoon. I am on a high of swimsuit sewing right now so this pattern will fit perfectly. I also just discovered Fabric + Flow, which is a great resource here in Canada (customs and shipping make US fabric so unaffordable for us here, even before factoring in the exchange rate). Thank you for the review.
I'm so glad you "jumped in" to swimsuit sewing!! And a rash guard to keep your skin covered!
Love this pattern, I’ll definitely buy it. I love the addition of the gusset too. They al love so great on you, very inspiring.
Thank you!
I really like a swim skirt, thinking of the Tinley Skirt (shortened a bit) with the Tankini top! I am so excited about this pattern!
Oh that would be so cute!
I've been waiting for this to release!! Thanks for the review!!
Hope you enjoy it!
Gorgeous outfits. I've not really tried making swimwear but this pattern looks like a great one to try. I have sewn with swim knit to make a pair of cycling pants that turned out okay; I just found the fabric a bit slithery to work with. Perhaps the newer fabric types will be easier to manage plus I've long since replaced that sewing machine so that may also make it an easier item to sew.
PS You looked very nice in your swim suit. With some time put into exercise, perhaps I can look so adorable.
Thank you! This would be a great first swimwear pattern to try! You're right that swim knit is a bit slippery, but I find that using the wonder clips works really great in keeping it tame while sewing!
@@TomKatStitchery Great idea about the Wonder Clips. When I made those cycling pants many years back, those clips had not yet hit the market. I should get some; I have a few larger ones for quilting and a few small ones I use on cross stitch projects, but somehow it never occurred to me to use them in sewing clothing. Real "Duh!" moment here.
If you make those bottoms out of the orange, you will be able to wear the bottoms with the stiped top also! You look great in all your makes! I've used Raspberry Creek and really liked their fabric and service. Walking the Lazy River sounds like a blast! I wonder if we have that here in Omaha at our fun park.
Take care!
A great endorsement for Raspberry Creek!
I love those outfits!
Thank you!
I am soooo excited and I love all your makes
Thank you so much!
What a terrific ensemble!! I love the fabric of the last top and glad you turned it all the way inside out so we could see it in real life. You could wear navy shorts with that, too. And that brown dress is soooo cute!
I'm glad it was helpful that I turned them inside out. I never know if people want to get that deep into details or not. Thank you for letting me know!
I love all the new Liberty and you are getting lovely wools. I don't knot with anything heavier than a 4.5mm needle. I knit mostly with a fingering 4ply weight 27 stitches to 10 cm up to a dk weight. 4mm needles 22 sts to 10cm. Hope to get some new liberty. Love Karen C
❤️❤️❤️
Your are brave, but then again you look great. I’m curious about the water exercises. I will have to look into that. All your outfits look fab
Thank you so much!
I think all the pieces look great on you including the swimsuit. I did get a good laugh when you said be kind.
❤️❤️❤️
Ready for the runway with the fun swimming move 😊.
❤️❤️❤️
Those are all super cute!!! You look great in all of them!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much!!
Great looking pieces Love Notions!!! Way to go...I am looking forward to making swimsuits again!!
I'm so glad to hear that!
So cute, thank you for modeling them.
you are so welcome!
I like the “marmalade” color on you. Definitely contrasts with your skin.
Thank you!!
A fab pattern beautiful sewn and styled as always. Thank you so much ❤.
You are so welcome!!
Thank you for sharing your bathers with us! This looks fantabulous and I am running to buy it now!
Hope you enjoy it!
I think the solid will look really cute as a swim brief with the tank too.
Yes!
Very nice! I thank you for modeling. It is so helpful (and you look fabulous). All the makes are great and I will be purchasing the pattern - yay!
Wonderful! I hope you enjoy!!
What great makes! I like how you turned those stripes. Great info on the Raspberry Creek fabrics.
Thank you--I think it's fun to switch it up. Raspberry Creek has some fun prints!
I watched the sew along on the Loring yesterday. Were you wearing a short version in today's video? I love the fabric. Great job on all the swim pieces too. Now to find some swim fabric of my dreams.
I was wearing McCall's 8090 . I had to scroll way back through the video catalog to find when I made it--Here's a link: ua-cam.com/video/AJQ5XdoTMYw/v-deo.htmlsi=HRdCbmWUWe_2EHov
You know it's a good one when it's lasted in my closet this long!!
Love your idea to interline the bra top in power mesh. Do you interline the whole bra or just thefront?
I just interline the front. It works great!
I have an adult daughter with a developmental challenge, and the swim dress would be perfect for her to wear to the splash pad!,
Yes! And you can get all kinds of great prints!
Would you consider doing a sew along for this pattern? Very interested in the bra portion with power mesh.
I would have to ask. Sometimes Love Notions puts out their own classes on sewing their patterns!
Can you step in to tankini and pull up or do you have to put on from top?
I put mine on from the top, but I think you could step into it as well as long as your hips are a similar size to your bust. You have some give/stretch if they are a bit bigger, though!
Are you wearing the sports bra without a regular bra under it? The support looks good.
Thank you!
Does the pattern tell you how to get the bra inserted into the top? I need more than power mesh.
Yes. The pattern walks you through how to add the bra to the top/dress.
Are they hard to get over your head and on in place??
Not really. There is a bit more wiggling because of the elastic band in the bra, but it's still pretty easy.
The shorts are too bright a color to look naked. Feel comfortable wearing them.. the whole collection is great.
Thank you!!
you look great in the tankini! But I can empathise with you as to how scary it is to be so bare on camera - so I congratulate you on being so brave. For us it makes a real difference to see clothes on you rather than a mannequin,
I'm so glad that was helpful. I agree that it's so much more helpful to see things on an actual body!
