Seeing you getting obliterated by the laser canons gives me some validation that it's less about my skill as a pilot and more that they fucking blow. Seeing you beat one of them gave me a bit of hope.
Apparently, the logic behind the switch to Pulse Blades over the Slicer is because of the nerf to the Buerzel Assault Booster. It no longer gives quads and heavyweights the movement to keep up with and escape from lighter builds. So the expectation is more medium weight tanks, which the Pulse Blade deals similar damage to (2 stagger combos to kill) whilst having a better reach from the charge attack. You also don't have to worry about the whiff punish as much.
If you dont like laser cannons now, just wait until your s rank promotion phase where you have to win 8/10 of the matches and you get 4-6 tanks + 2-4 rats with a shield, and maybe a goblin or two with double earshots. It only gets worse. Once your actually in s rank though, you see a good mix of stuff.
And don't forget, even if you become a meta slave and build a missle quad or laser tank you'll eventually just fucking lose anyway even on those builds cause this game is so rock paper scissors based. Missles beat tank, tank beats everything else

Honestly 90% of the "skill" of pvp is a build check and you can lose fights from the loading screen. Even a bad player can probably hit B rank with a missile rat or laser rape tank build.
I'd say stay away from ranked, it's literally only sweaty tryhards with the same exact three meta builds that are neither unique nor fun to play against
Oro if you see this you have to try a BVO build but instead with Explosive Thrower as punish so it's a EVO build. You can also use the thrower to build stagger quicker and finish with vientos and have your thrower back from cool down and finish with a punish.
The auroras do solid damage and reload quickly and are meaty on stagger. I wish their tracking and speed was a bit better, or the point where it stops tracking was closer

16:27 what arms would you suggest? I'm trying to make dual coqs work and have been trying out a bunch of arms. Currently I'm using the Hal arms for the balance between Firearm Specialization and Recoil Control.
32:00 ok I feel less crazy now. I've been playing PVP more and I feel like I only successfully dodge laser cannons 10% of the time. Half the time I swear a dodge them and still take full damage.

22:10 "super cheats" I swear half of the people I fight can't be hit by follow-up melee attacks, i.e. the laser slicer or pulse blade's second swing through. Really fucking annoying trying to run a melee punish oriented build, landing the punish, and having half of it whiff because ??? (last guy I pushed up against a wall in case the pulse blade was knocking them out of itself, he didn't move and it just passed through him lmao)
Even worse when you're a lightweight build that focuses on staggering and using melee to deal damage. Heavier weight builds will often just phase through the entire melee attack and blast you into next week with two of their four canons. Latency is a mf.

Actually I’d say that that’s not due to lag/server issues. The quad is so big that you get stuck on their legs, can’t get closer, and not all of your melee attacks (aimed at the center of mass) hit because their range isn’t high enough. Same with big tank builds. I’ve ran into this issue in PVE, using the chainsaw on tetrapods.

Laser slicer let’s tanks and heavy quads out, from soft should reverse it and they should stay stunned longer. I just imagine a big old AC crashing should take longer to restart, not shorter.

Hardlocking your opponent handles camera movement automatically at the cost of less accurate aiming but you can compensate for that w good arms or FCS
