thank you Willie, this song makes me wanna cry as I replay my past and let the done be done with, just look ahead an complete your job, let be one of love and unselfish desire and pass it on.
Love that Telecaster....and Willie is such an expressive singer...I do wish he would get a decent guitar though! I understand old vintage guitars have a great sound...but big holes in them?...can't see that will enhance the tone?! Else luthiers would makem that way. Guess Willie just loves the old wreck!?
@theswoogie I've actually been trying to figure out who it is on the tele...I think that may actually be Lanois, looks a lot like him. Can anyone confirm that? I remember when they did this and remember thinking what a unique sound, instrumentation etc. Two drums going to town, industrial sounding tele, no traditional bass..real cool.
Lanois helped Willie make one of his best records
I saw John Baptist walking to me with...The Maker
God bless you, Willie. You are a living legend. So very loved.
I saw Jerry cover this in 1993. I was upfront in Maine...
Thank you for posting this!
Of all the great songs Willie Nelson has performed, this is undoubtedly my favorite. And I'm not even religious.
That Telecaster sounds f*** sweeeeeeeeeeet !!!
Better than the album version. Crazy Tele tone there. Love it!

Just wrote myself some lyrics...thanks for the inspiration Willie.

Darla Simms Isn't he so special?!
Check out the original by Danny Lanois from my home town Hamilton. I think the cd is called Acadie.
Check out Paul at 1:55. He knows he's in the presence of a legend.
