to get a bee hive to glow, the bee occupying the slot has to be gifted (certain foods have a chance of making a bee gifted)

A good tip is doing bug runs if you don’t know what is that Basicaly it where you kill all of the mobs/ bugs on the map

Go to the blue and red HQ they have better equipment for you to buy

Save tickets for event bees.
Event bees like cobalt, Tabby, Photon
it will really help you with your journey
also try to get any common bee that is gifted some has good gifted buff

hey! if you see this to get them to glow you need to buy a 1k (ticket) gifted treat or gifted royal jelly for a random one. And i think normal royal jellys have a very rare chance of giving you a gifted, and some treats have a chance like gingerbread man treat ^ it might just be called star jelly btw
