I’m doing the same thing. I’m going to have my surgery next year and I need to start doing my research. I hope you’ll feel better! Hugs from California.
Watched so many videos before my op. I a so grateful for the insight. My surgery was straight-forward & a blessing. Pain afterwards. But nothing crazy.
Thank you for sharing, I’ll have my surgery (open myomectomy) sometime next month. I’m so glad I am having it in the UK where I can be in the hospital for the first couple of days (without being charged thousands of dollars like I would back in my home country!)
I am so nervous for my surgery in 2 weeks but I can't wait I've been dealing with this for over a year I am exhausted. Definitely going to look at your other videos for recovery. They gave me a general/vague answer
Hey! @@mariejenkins-stephens6176 Luckily, it was a quick recovery but fibroids are still very much there. But the one that was really bothering me was removed I thought she was going to remove all of them like CLEAR THE BOARD but I'm here. Definitely, bleed for a good long time though and so much money! Darn you american healthcare system
@@corporatelynicole Thank you & same to you, a fellow accountant! I have C-section incision and it looks beautiful after only a day. Total of 32 fibroids removed but I’m so happy I went though with the surgery. Fibroids is definitely under-discussed in my opinion, especially for us under 40. How are you feeling now?
Thanks for sharing this! I too, am a WOG and I’m going to be having surgery soon. This helps so I can kind-of get an idea of what to expect But my trust is definitely in the Lord! Thanks for being open and blessings to you and your family! Sincerely, Tréasa Brown
@@corporatelynicole Hey there and blessings to you! I’ve not had surgery yet. It’s coming up on the 24th of this month. I’m trusting God to bring me through… Sincerely, Tréasa Brown
I am really surprised they discharged you without emptying your bladder which the team would have measured before letting you go. I had this surgery last week and was in hospital early morning till late evening until I met the hospital criteria to leave the hospital with an adult. This was here in London, U.K., with a really good team of consultants and nurses.
I am 7 days post op and the 1st 24 hours was rough. The air pockets so bad. Peeing was painful at 1st, I needed laxatives from the medication. I am still sore but still pushing through.
I hope you’re doing much better now. I have same issues and my procedure is coming up in 7 days. We’re they able to help you figure out the issue? I’m only asking to see if I should still be going through this. After watching your video, I’m pretty scared about my procedure. But I really appreciate you sharing the procedure.
Thank you for being so transparent about your surgery. Hope all is well. I'm having this done as well. How long did it take you to recover and go back to work? I'm so nervous..
I was out of work for 4 weeks with mine. Took all 4 weeks to recover as well. This was in 2013 and in 2017 I had a hysterectomy and at that point I was already on disability. Can’t ever return to work (not GYN related)
I had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights, it was suppose to be 2 .. my blood count was low and they thought i may be bleeding internally.... I did get a blood transfer... as far as urination, they threatened to put the catheter back in of I didn't pee.
I had a sleepy bladder as well after surgery so they did a straight cath (put a small catheter to get the urine moving) and after that I was fine. I was in the hospital for two nights with mine.
You went home the same day????? Ugh I’m so sorry. I was in for 2 nights on IV pain meds. Abdominal surgery should never be same day. My myomectomy and hysterectomy was both 2 nights in. Only the gallbladder was same day when I was 26 and I paid for it and now with my health not being good if I need major surgery I’m not sent home same day. Even my bronchoscope’s are done with heavy duty anesthesia and both were done while I was inpatient with bad pneumonia’s. I go for number 3 in a few weeks. Also if you need abdominal surgery in the future instead of a sweat shirt like you had, get an oversized button down shirt. That way you don’t have to lift your arms above your head and so on.
@@corporatelynicole and you don’t regret going home same day? Your pain was manageable? When I had my gallbladder removed it was the worst pain because after I was sent home I took 2 hydrocodones that he prescribed and was vomiting heavily which made the pain worse. I refused to take anymore pain meds after that and I was in severe pain for 3 days and I refused to take even 1 more pain medication. This was back in 2006 when I was 26 years old and it was my first major surgery especially abdominal. Now all major surgeries I don’t get sent home same day especially since I’m high risk. 2 of my bronchs were done while I was inpatient in the hospital for 1-2 weeks.
Hello I'm 40 years old been having heavy bleeding was diagnosed with AUB. I have fibroids on top of my uterus but the only option I got is surgery, I'm scared but I trust in the Lord. I have 4 children two of them are on their own and the other two is 7yrs old girl and a 10 yrs old boy plus a husband. I don't go back to my doctor until April this year which I was going to go through with the surgery.
@@alexiswilliams9978 I didn't have the surgery because I'm scared. I'm having pain on my left side really bad and it's a whole bunch of other things going on in my life.
Mine was in 2017. I had a myomectomy in 2013 and a hysterectomy in 2017. Unlike in this video I was in the hospital for two nights each on heavy duty IV pain meds. I had a lot of pain with my hysterectomy.
@@corporatelynicole mine was laparoscopic as well. He used the Da Vinci which is a robot. I was to stay overnight whether I had the 3 fibroids only or the 7 with the endometriosis on my ovary. I stayed the extra night due to increased pain issues. With my hysterectomy the only regret I have is keeping the ovaries because if I get cancer or any other problems I would have to get them removed later. I was only 40 when I had my hysterectomy and didn’t want to go straight into menopause but with my other condition that I have called POTS I’m heat intolerant anyway so I wish I had them removed. Not to mention cancer is heavy on both sides of my family including my mom having breast cancer (I got the BRCA test and I was thankfully negative) and my dad had prostate cancer early stage and went into remission easily and then a couple of years later he tested positive for AML and he said it was early stage so he would be around for a few more years. None of us knew how wrong he was. He survived less than 2 months. He died the same day I signed the hospice paperwork so I regret not having my ovaries taken out as my aunts and uncles and grandparents and cousins on both sides have had cancer.
Ohh boy, I go in tomorrow for surgery and I'll have another one the week after because i have 3 fibroids and he can't do em all in 1 surgery :( The next 2 weeks are going to suck lol
Girl!!! Praying everything goes well for you. Recovery is rough but just take it easy your first few days and then just keep doing your best to move around. Please make sure you have people around to help. Comfy pillows, sweats and a a heating pad
@@corporatelynicole not the best! first surgery i lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion! :( severe anemia he didn't get them all either. Had to go back a week and a half later and he managed to get them all. Light bleeding until my first period and now i'm back to normal. 2nd surgery was def much, much easier! mild cramping after both and very light bleeding after both. (the anemia sucked tho! :( )
They say it can be normal to have a hard time going. I woke up with a catheter after my myomectomy and the next day they took out the catheter. My bladder was being lazy and didn’t want to wake up. They did a “straight catheter” which is a small thin catheter they stickup the urethra and that got the urine moving afterwards without any issues. No biggie. Not as scary as it sounds. I’ve had a myomectomy and a hysterectomy a few years later and I don’t regret any of it.

To make sure your fibroids aren’t cancerous
But what stopped you from peeing ? 😫 this is all very scary
Honestly I’m not sure what stops it. It could be due to anesthesia or that they also go near your bladder.
