  • I wanted to share this vlog in case there is anyone out there contemplating having the same procedure, or preparing to have this procedure in the hopes of easing some of the anxiety I had going into it. As of the date of this upload I am just under a month out of surgery and feeling good about the decision I made to have this procedure done.

      @@datnursenicky3022 it went really well. It was robotic myomectomy, and the fibroid was outside of my uterus. They didn’t need to cut into my uterus to take it out. So, I recovered very easily and fast. Didn’t experience much vaginal bleeding. I mean I had pain in the surgical area and I was walking very slowly for about a week or 10 days. Felt like myself more towards the end of the second month. It was very much worth it.

      @@gizemcavuslar6218 glad you get relief of it and recovering pretty well. My biggest one 11 cm is outside the uterus thank God, with few smaller ones and an intramuscular one. I will be taking these out soon...my doctor want me to take Oriahnn but instead of stopping the bleeding it makes me bleed I am concern because both my ob/gyn said I should continue taking it until it’s use to my body. Did you have to take anything to shrink yours?

    LaTawnya you are amazingly honest and beautiful. Don’t ever lose hope of having a children or becoming a mother! Tamryn Hall had a baby at 48 and she calls her a miracle baby. I glad all went well with your surgery, sending love, prayers, and good vibes your way! I’ve had 2 kids via C-section and a breast augmentation. All those surgeries had me nervous but God is greater than all our fear and doubt. Keep posting updates about your middle school journey. Thank you for making videos and representing women, especially women of color!!!

    I’m so glad your surgery went well! I can understand being nervous. I’ve had 3 c-sections and was terrified with each one! I think it’s more of a control issue or lack of control that makes me nervous. Also happy to hear you love your new school! I can’t wait to see how you’ll decorate your room! Happy Sunday! 😊

      I totally agree that it is the fact that there is an element of control that you have to surrender. Also, for me it was the unknown since I had never had surgery before.

    So glad to see that you are well on your way to recovery! You have been on my mind. On May 16th I celebrated the 2nd anniversary of my hysterectomy (cancer). Thankfully, I have a clean bill of health and didn't need further treatment. Although I had it done by minimally invasive surgery, recovery was not "easy". Your body will truly tell you what it wants to do. Everything you experienced before the surgery was perfectly normal and common to the experience. Anxiety and tears spring up from a variety of emotional sources. The "nesting" is both soothing and necessary. My house was the cleanest and most organized it had been in a long while, LOL. Looking forward to more good reports on your recovery in the coming weeks. Peace and blessings!

      Congrats on your clean bill of health! That is great news! I felt like mentally I was all over the place in the couple of days before surgery. I think I was also subconsciously keeping myself busy in order to avoid thinking about the surgery too much. Thanks for watching and the sending your blessings!

    Thanks a lot for this. I've been waiting 3 years thanks to the pandemic and private healthcare refusing to treat in the UK because it's now too complex. I should have the surgery this year. My womb is like a 24-26 weeks size now. I'm just trying to stay as fit and healthy as I can and hope I get to keep my womb.

    Give thanks for a successful surgery, La Tawnya. And thank you for being transparent about your anxieties and misgivings. Truly. I think this kind of openness is what we need more of in the world to cultivate understanding and tenderness amongst each other. I think historically speaking, we've been conditioned to 'keep it together', because we're afraid that people will pity us, dismiss our genunine concerns, or think us a bother with our worries that we rather struggle and suffer in silence than face the possibility of deprecation and rejection from others . . . It's wonderful that you already you feel like where you're meant to be at your new middle school. Wishing you a continued smooth recovery, and an exciting transition from 3rd to 8th grade! (By the way, the urinal sample story was hilarious! 😅)

    Thank you for sharing your journey. I am so glad everything was successful and you will be going to a great assignment next school year.
    On another note, I have also made the decision to no longer attend church. As an African American woman it is a VERY lonely decision, but for me it has been the right choice. I am a faithful Christian but I have chosen a different journey. Would you ever be interested in doing a vlog or post about that topic? If not, that's fine. I know it can be a sensitive topic. Either way, I'm glad you're ok and I hope you enjoy summer break!

    • @pamsteckman698
      @pamsteckman698 5 років тому +1

      I am not African American but we have stopped attending regularly recently as well. If I had kids I would probably attend but as 40 somethings with no children, we find it hard to connect with others and truly feel more fulfilled watching it online and going to sit on the beach to admire God's creation.

    • @SmartieStylelr
      @SmartieStylelr  5 років тому +2

      I have never thought about doing a video on that, but it could be interesting. I know the idea of people attending church online has been a popular topic of discussion lately.

    • @thetruthwillsetyoufree2091
      @thetruthwillsetyoufree2091 5 років тому +1

      What Christians must understand that we are the church or the body not the building. It is much better to be added to be added to that one body ( Acts 2:47, Ephesians 4:4-5, Colosians 1:18). Also in Hebrews 10:25- it tells Christians to nog forsake the assembling of ourselves together as some do. So although online service may be popular it is important to see what the word of God has to say about the subject. - Church of christ member.

    I'm so glad your recovering, and feeling better. Thank you for taking us along on your journey. This was very honest and informative.FYI- caucasians can get keloids as well. My husband's family gets them. I never knew that there was something to be done, to prevent them from forming.

      Alley Cat I had to take it pretty slowly at first. Walking on the treadmill at a slow pace at about 6 weeks out. At about 6 weeks out I went back to a Orangetheory but couldn’t row for a while. I also had to do modified ab work. Diet wise, don’t feel like I had to make too many changes there, if any.

    After surgery, you looked different - in a good way - like relieved and rejuvenated. Systemic enzymes are good for reducing scars, but it's also a blood thinner, so ask your doc about those. BTW, I found your episode of Mental Samurai on YT for $1.99.Here's your commercial segment! ua-cam.com/video/yLemW_e53C8/v-deo.html Glad everything went well!

    • @SmartieStylelr
      @SmartieStylelr  4 роки тому +1

      Blame it on recovery brain. When I woke up, I was obviously groggy and out of it most of the day. I had a weird taste in my mouth. The doctor said it was probably from the anesthesia. I slept A LOT. That is how I spent most of my recovery in the hospital: sleeping. When they took me back the prepped me for surgery and my doctor prayed with me and asked if I want pictures. That’s all I remember. Overall, surgery day was long, but smooth.
