    Super critical information in this video. Helmets save lives!
    I'd love to see you guys make an updated video on budget helmets. It kills me to see anyone on a $3k bike but wearing a cheap $15 bargain bin head warmer from Walmart.

    • @pawewielgus2105
      @pawewielgus2105 6 років тому +2

      Trail Features i must disagree, i’ve tried two fox, one ixs and one other in my lbs, none of them was comfortable to my head shape, all of them were correct size. then i went on to decathlon and tried cheap b’twin and it was a perfect fit. i bought the cheap one, i’m not going to wear fox, poc or ixs just because it’s more expensive and uncomfortable, that would be simply uncomfortable ;-)

      @@pawewielgus2105 Pawel, I totally agree with you. I tried Poc Tectal Race spin M / L size, which means 55-58cm. The circumference of my head is 56 cm and this helmet was obviously too big and on me. The smaller version was awkward on me and obviously too small, but it looks at least normal on my head. It doesn't suit my head. It’s an expensive helmet and I expect more from it.

    Another great video from my favourite channel.
    But, I think you should have let viewers know the peak of a helmet is to direct air into your vents to keep your head cool, so removing it would have a bit more than just a cosmetic affect.

    I’ve got a POC Tectal, and also some POC Do-Blades. Interestingly, the two do not work together at all. The arms of the glasses want to sit over the retention system in the helmet, or under it which is very uncomfortable.

    I just bought the Otocon Race mips full-face helmet from POC. Since you have a similar experience with the same brand i would just like to ask you, i am 55cm when i measured myself so i also got the medium, noticed it feels a bit big to be fair, but when i start using the adjustment on the back of the helmet, if i do it all the way through it feels tight enough on the top, however the bottom where the pads that surround your cheeks are still feels a bit lose, if i have the strap like you say on the video it definitely helps and i would not say that the helmet moves, but for example if i hit myself while wearing the helmet on the side (to kind of feel what it would do on an impact) it pushes a bit the other way.
    The question is when you wear your full-face helmet does it snuggle you on the side as well as the top of your head, or is it natural that it will be looser on the side? if you could please let me know your own experience, i would appreciate it a lot.
    also let me say that i used to ride motorcycle and my experience with helmets is that they need to be extra tight for that kind of crush, so maybe i am a bit biased due to that.

    Helemts may not look cool or be the msot confortable but when it comes down to it, it will save your life. I recently had a crash and it was pretty brutal. I wasn't wearing a full face but teeth and srapes can be fixed. I ended up cracking the foams in my helemt and without a dought had I not woren it I would have fractured my skull and possibly died.

    Hey! I'm planning to buy a full face POC helmet and was scared of which size to get, I'm the same size as you 58-59. What size did you get?

    • @TheCL296
      @TheCL296 2 роки тому +1

      My head is a 58 cm to 58.25 cm (I’ve measured a million times) and the size medium/large on the tectal race spin almost fits too small. I have to wear the helmet with the sides of the retention system slightly under the helmet so I can put my head all the way in. I’m not sure if that affects the integrity of the helmet but it’s perfectly snug that way and otherwise too small causing uncomfortable pressure at the temporal region of my skull. I think you should get the size up, or the xl/xxl if you are still thinking about purchasing it.

  • @gtflyer

    Not only do you need the correct size, but the shape of your head needs to taken in to account. Manufactures of motorcycle helmets make helmets for different shape heads, I know Arai, Shoei, ect do that, si you are able to get the best fit possible. I realize we don't go as fast of bike, but if you ride DH, good fitment could play an important part.

    • @gmbn

      NGTbikes as others have said, this is really important for beginners. I've seen way too many people on the trails with their helmets flopping on their heads. It's super dangerous because they have a false sense of safety. A poorly fitting helmet is almost as bad as no helmet. 😬

    Stopped taking any notice of this guy , after every trail bike he reviews gets compared to an enduro bike.

      That's a lot of the idea behind it, but there's far more to it than that. Like 99.9% more 😉
