Very cool! Proud LawnBoy owner! I sold a ton of the last two cycle Duraforce powered mowers when I worked for a local True Value. Good times! Thanks for sharing the video.
The best mowers ever made, right there. They're still out there, being used. I've got small collections, ranging from a '54 Iron horse, to a '70 self-propel and use them every summer. Take care of them and they'll last 40 years or more. Easy to rebuild and virtually maintenance-free. There's a couple quirks about them, but once you've learned them they'll never let let you down. Thanks for posting the video.
Just another true piece of Americana, that has left us now. A reminder of when U.S.A. was #1. just think, 1958 you could have bought a brand new Bel Air 327 4 speed, then stop by the lawn boy dealer and pick up that gold auto mower, come home and mow the lawn. what a special time and place...... thank you B.C.H.S love that video!!
Sadly this factory closed a few years later. Eventually O'Sullivan's furniture moved in and built a bigger newer building, but now they're out of business and it sets empty.
To bad no new 2 stroke engines are made today I won't a fuel injection 2 stroke lawn boy think I'll build one I'll steel fuel injection from sthil chain saw
I dont know the exact address but its on gulf street right next to the BNSF ft Scott sub main. The spur that serve the building is still there too. It sets south of the tracks east of the road. The building an the industry spur is different now.
Still have my 1979 21’ lawn boy self propelled I bought new. It still mows today.
