She is communicate with her grandmother . You see her grandmother at the end . Thank you for your reaction. Its always a pleasure to listen to your reactions to Angelina and I am always looking forward to it.
Here Angelina is at the early phase of her recording for the album It's Magic, as we can see she is reading the lyrics from her phone - this would be at the Rainbow studio in Oslo November/December 2017 (11 years old). This song is very special for Angelina, Billie Holiday has been such a powerful influence. Her Grandma is her number one fan, and shares with us all these steps along the way (recording on her camcorder) - it gives us that special insight into the growth of a musical genius...
Many reactors check out a version put together by Rusty Shackleford. It is the final audio version from the album superimposed over this video. It is spectacular too, but you are right… Ceci Dover (a well respected Spanish voice coach) said exactly what you said… it is a treasure to have the raw audio from the booth… even if it is from a phone. ❤️ BTW, Angelina has been being filmed by her grandma since she was about three. SHE is who introduced jazz to Angelina at such an early age. Her Grandma (Mery Zamani) is at the end of this clip and we “Angels” love her SO much. Look for her name now at the credits to her music videos. She is listed as Executive producer, and she was the sole director AND producer for many of Angelina’s early videos. ❤️🖤❤️👣
Simply stunning, I adore Billie Holiday and just love the way Angelina makes such a wonderful track so accessible to so many people in this day and age. As for her range in How Great Thou Art, there are no words! Great reactions

Angelina has stated that she wouldn't be the singer she is if not for Billie Holiday's influence when she was very young. In this rendition of a Billie Holiday classic song, Angelina incorporates the 'breathy', 'whisper-like', sensual inflections that Billie was famous for. Other than Billie and Angelina, I have never heard another singer do this song with the astounding amount of emotion laden penetration you hear here. Even the great Sinatra recorded this song, but he couldn't match Billie or Angelina, for when it comes to heartfelt ballads, the style of jazz singer has to be truly unique to capture the proper essence this song is supposed to release.
She was actually still 11 when she recorded this for her “It’s Magic” album which was released when she was 12. The orchestra is right there, live. Grandma Mery is filming. Excuse me if it’s all said below.
Thanks! Jesse, thank you for another wonderful Angelina review and reaction....and a double no less. Was waiting patiently for your next one and you nailed it again. It's just like you said man, the attention to detail she displays is astounding. It takes a brilliant mind to do that. I love that you have all that studio experience, makes for some interesting reactions! Cheers 😀
Absolutely amazing from this musical genius, I’ve listened to many vocal coaches and music teachers reacting too this performance, and they are all mentioned how is this possible and are blown away by this performance, one actually said am I listening to Billie Holiday, great reaction thanks 🙏
You hear her voice singing a cappella, the music we hear comes from her earphones. Great copy where you can hear her voice mostly by itself. There is another one where she moves her ear phone off so Grandma can hear the music. Great Job. By the way, there is a live orchestra playing in that big room. She can see them play as she sings. Her Grandma is filming.
This version of I'm a fool to Want You was the live recording that went on her album, Its Magic. It is on Spotify and other digital media and has intermittently been in the top 100, and even top 10 of all time best jazz albums. It is a collection of her young classic performances and is a dream to listen to. You would thoroughly enjoy it. How great thou art takes us to a whole new dimension of low register. She is the female Elvis. The barefoot princess of 1,000 voices has just gone to 1001! Incredible.
Interesting what you did with the video of 'I'm A Fool To Want You' by lowering the background sound and highlighting Angelina's voice. This is such a great video. Ditto with 'How Great Thou Art'.
This is the first time I've heard this version of IAFTWY with the original sound from her grandmother's video camera. The other version floating around is dubbed with the final take. Very good to see this.
Sir, a few respected Voacal teachers estimate her key is contralto, today, and her reach today is i bit over 2,5 octaves and getting more. Stay safe as always. Elmar from Germany.
The video of this I’ve seen before you can hear the music better, it’s mixed better with her voice. Maybe this was Take 1. She’s recording this for her first album, It’s Magic, which she performed at age 12.
Here’s a playlist of ‘Its Magic’ if you ever thought of reacting to some of them. ua-cam.com/play/PL27kId5Ksa1KjRbFTHQUeJZNVy-apWnW4.html I’ve synced a few of these with concert footage.
There is a recording with a full orchestra behind her which is stunning, you can really hear the high sound of the orchestra. Much more beautiful if that is possible.
Hi Jess. What a great double reaction. Angie was 11 in the 1st one & 12 in the 2nd & Ivan Mendez was playing guitar. (I have the original if you ever want to see it) In the 1st one, she was recording for her 1st CD "It's Magic" which you should get & do reactions to the songs on it. The 2nd one she got as low as a B2-C3. In a reaction you did of her singing "You make me feel so young" she actually got lower, into a G2-A2. She's amazing. Here's a link of her's to react to. “Speak Softly Love” at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival in 2018 ua-cam.com/video/K7LgwjhWg_M/v-deo.html Angie was 12 here. This will bring you to a different place. There's a video with her rehearsing with the band, but in the end she chose what you will see in the video. God bless. This live version of “Million Miles” by Angelina Jordan ua-cam.com/video/joKQeVbThzE/v-deo.html Live 7-7-22 at Kongsberg. (Angie wrote this after her grandpa died in 2019 during the filming of AGT-C) was amazing and different from the other 4.
I agree Jess should buy the It's Magic album. There's some tracks on there that hardly ever get reacted to, including the one that first blew me away (and still does) - Speak Softly Love. I'd love to hear Jess react to that one.
Thanks for giving Ivan his credit. I was fairly certain it sounded like him playing. Love his summer of songs with her. He also plays on Wake Me Up. But can’t be seen in the artsy video
I always love your technical comments: very interesting! I heard you talk about getting resonance in your lower register. I got a few pointers from my vocal coach. The general tip is to keep room within your mouth and consciously direct your voice to that space. To achieve this I was told to keep my teeth separated, focus to keep the sound to the back of my mouth and keep my tongue flat and relaxed. You can also try to lift your soft palet which I found a little harder to do. Perhaps this will help you as well :-)
@@Beldvlmnt For me it was a matter of practicing it a lot. At first it took conscious effort and after a while I started doing it without thinking. The same with focusing on consonants: you can put volume, texture on consonants. Angelina especially plays a lot with that including which consonants she uses: ‘you’ is a more closed sound than ‘ya’. I imagine that the TikToks she shares are simply her recording her practice sessions at home to listen back how it sounds (and sharing the ones she liked).
@@victorvinas6497 She recorded the LinkedIn version of Fly Me To the Moon at Log Cabin Studios in NY, but I'm pretty sure the album, It's Magic, was recorded in Norway (Oslo?) in Nov 2017.

I see all your Angelia videos...and some more! Greetings from Norway😊
Dude, you're overthinking what Angelina is doing here. Her grandmother is filming her with a smartphone. Angelina is mimicking one of her earliest musical heroes, Billie Holiday, with one of Billie's hits. Angelona's vocals here are astounding for a girl of 11 years of age.
I do not think this is a rehearsal I believe it is the raw video of the Final take that they used for the song... All errors could have easily been fixed in post production. Or splicing front another take. This video here is the one that you listened to for the final cup it was digitally put together by a clever fan. And her biggest sparrow which was a stutter or repetition was altered and blocked when the banner came by promoting the album.
You’re listening to Grandma Mery’s cell phone version of this. There is another version in which you can hear the finished version. Listen to it also, it is identical except for the audio. How Great Thou Art in Elvis’s key. Listen to her version of Love Me Tender, only one I’ve ever heard better than the King!
Also do a reaction to her latest parking garage TikTok. It will be well worth your time. No other artist would dare video their practice and make it public for everyone to see. How lucky we are that this child exists in our lifetime, and soon the haters will emerge from the four corners of the world, trying to take her down, but they will not succeed, as she is a gift from the stars!
Thanks for reviewing the I'm A Fool To Want You clip, Jesse. I wasn't aware that there could be so much bleed from another room into a vocal booth. Hearing some of Angelina's lip noise and breathing just before she starts singing makes it seem like we're hearing her through that Neumann, but the voices of Grandma Mery and her after the take sound more like a camcorder mic is recording that part. It's great to get your feedback! Oh, was the word you were looking for "polyphonic?" You may enjoy Angelina's cover of Sam Smith's I Know I'm Not The Only One. Here's a link to put in the queue: ua-cam.com/video/_mijvWJlmLA/v-deo.html
By the way... you might enjoy this one where she is recording Dancing Cheek to Cheek... it's beautiful and there is a sweet bit where she discusses an incorrect word ("glambers" rather than "gamblers"), I think as written on the lyric sheet she's referring to ua-cam.com/video/UcpED1nPkXA/v-deo.html
Another already gave the link to the "finished" version. Here it is again: ua-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/v-deo.html This is this recording in its completed state [with the music up full and one small edit where she missed a line and repeated it, very smartly, so that in editing they could fix it, since otherwise it was a perfect "take'] You should watch that on your own so you can see how this turned out. As for the recording I wonder if this maybe was simply her voice [which would alone be on its own track] being recorded by the microphone you are seeing. This could be simply that one track recorded from this mike with the music track [or tracks] dialed way down. The finished version is the link I included with the music mixed in. When you watch [and hear] that finished release you will see this was a live take. [it wasn't a rehearsal] This being her voice alone, isolated for this [unedited, uncut] video is great. Angelina is a pro's pro. She [at this age] is already very knowledgeable of the recording process and when you watch the end result [the link I put there for you] you will see how smart she was to add the correct line AFTER she already sang the wrong line [one word] because she knew they could fix it in editing, and it wasn't a big enough "flub" [when she knew she was singing it pretty well] [or better "expressing it" as that is what she does] to have her stop the recording. Wonderful to hear her voice isolated so clearly. Great that Angelinas people thought to release this version as well as the completed one [the link I included] I suppose it could be a smartphone mike too, anyway I love how you get into what she does and how she is doing it. She is worthy of all praise and evaluation we can give her.

This is a sublime example. Thanks for your reactions to all of Angelina's performances that you've done.
Yes, recorded with live band 22/23 November 2017 in Rainbow studios in Oslo (so she was 11).
She was recording for her album IT’s MAGIC at 12 y/o
11. (22/23 Nov 2017).
This girl really is a Phenom !!!
Great reaction to Angelina.👍🏼🤗🎼
It’s Angelina’s Grandma at the end of the rehearsal her grandma is often in the studio with Angelina as a producer!
Thank you 🙏 Angelina amazes us every time!🙏💫👌❤️
I love your reactions to Angelina! You kind of make me see and understand a bit more of why I love the way she sings. I also know nothing about microphone and sound when it comes to recording but I enjoy listening to you explain it. 👍🏻😊
Thank you for the "double header". Both of these videos are in my favourites list. For me, the video of her singing "I'm a fool to want you" wasn't the full song, When I first watched I knew there was something missing but couldn't work out what until I read the comment of @ lekdah To experience the full emotional impact of Angelina's performance you should watch that video. I list the link here: ua-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/v-deo.html Even if you don't with to react to it, you owe it to yourself to watch and listen. Your appreciation of Angelina will reach a new level. Guaranteed!
Hah I soooo love this one. Her gramma is the bomb.
She is a genius ❤❤❤
💗💗💗
I knew you would love this
It's just like you said man, the attention to detail she displays is astounding. It takes a brilliant mind to do that. I love that you have all that studio experience, makes for some interesting reactions! Cheers 😀
She's so incredible! ❤️
Excelent reaction. Very imformative analysis.
Absolutely amazing from this musical genius, I’ve listened to many vocal coaches and music teachers reacting too this performance, and they are all mentioned how is this possible and are blown away by this performance, one actually said am I listening to Billie Holiday, great reaction thanks 🙏
Angelina ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
She is so special 👌❤️
There is another version mashed up with the final recording.
The girl with a thousand voices strikes again.
Request for you to review Angelina singing I Will Survive. Really jazzy & soulful 😮
Incredible.
Both great song choices. Thanks for your technical analysis, it just adds appreciation as to how simple she makes it seem.
Young Master Genius
How great she art….
I think each phrase ends on a D3, all throughout the song. Mind blown.
Beautiful ❤️
Great reaction 🙂 I knew you would appreciate these two ❤️❤️❤️
Love it.
Great, great reaction, as usual. Not much to say, except carry on!
I knew I'd learn something, from you on this one.
FYI - She sang “I’m a fool to want you” A cappella back on Norway’s Got Talent.
🔥
You haven't done Angelina's "Wicked Games" . One of my most favorites!!!
Love your knowledge of the tech stuff and how singers best project their voice. Great reaction
Granny recording it on a cel phone as always
Sir, a few respected Voacal teachers estimate her key is contralto, today, and her reach today is i bit over 2,5 octaves and getting more. Stay safe as always. Elmar from Germany.
What a great double header bro ! 👍
The video of this I’ve seen before you can hear the music better, it’s mixed better with her voice. Maybe this was Take 1. She’s recording this for her first album, It’s Magic, which she performed at age 12.
If you like her low note tone you should watch the Dean Martin classic with the Latin rhythm...SWAY.
Love your professionalism!
Here’s a playlist of ‘Its Magic’ if you ever thought of reacting to some of them. ua-cam.com/play/PL27kId5Ksa1KjRbFTHQUeJZNVy-apWnW4.html
I’ve synced a few of these with concert footage.
There is a recording with a full orchestra behind her which is stunning, you can really hear the high sound of the orchestra. Much more beautiful if that is possible.
Hi Jess. What a great double reaction. Angie was 11 in the 1st one & 12 in the 2nd & Ivan Mendez
was playing guitar. (I have the original if you ever want to see it) In the 1st one, she was recording for
her 1st CD "It's Magic" which you should get & do reactions to the songs on it. The 2nd one she got as
low as a B2-C3. In a reaction you did of her singing "You make me feel so young" she actually got lower,
into a G2-A2. She's amazing. Here's a link of her's to react to. “Speak Softly Love” at the Kongsberg
Jazz Festival in 2018 ua-cam.com/video/K7LgwjhWg_M/v-deo.html Angie was 12 here. This will bring you to a different place. There's a video with her rehearsing with the band, but in the end she chose what you will see in the video. God bless.
This live version of “Million Miles” by Angelina Jordan ua-cam.com/video/joKQeVbThzE/v-deo.html Live 7-7-22
at Kongsberg. (Angie wrote this after her grandpa died in 2019 during the filming of AGT-C) was
amazing and different from the other 4.
Perhaps this will help you as well :-)
Noted!! Thank you - I’ll give this some effort today for sure!
Have you reacted to her short official 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING. doc, covering her first Vegas concert.
In a Studio in New York
Log Cabin Studios in NY.
@@victorvinas6497 thanks Víctor!!
@@victorvinas6497
She recorded the LinkedIn version of Fly Me To the Moon at Log Cabin Studios in NY, but I'm pretty sure the album, It's Magic, was recorded in Norway (Oslo?) in Nov 2017.
@@keithserafy Rainbow studio in Oslo 22 and 23 November 2017.
she just play with her grand mother at this song look her face just funny an good
This take is all by granny's cellphone. Here is the same video with studio audio.[ ua-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=RustyShackleford ] This is a great chance for you to comment to the different audios of the same take!
ANGELINA JORDAN - I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU - REACTION
ua-cam.com/video/iSC1K7t0c1g/v-deo.html
@@Beldvlmnt I should have checked it first. I have also seen this video from you!😅 This "rehearsal" was so good that they used it after correcting her little fail, and in the video they covered her little mistake with an advertise. 😄 Keep up the good work!
She is channeling her inner Elvis in that second clip :)
:)
Its her grandmother " mery" she is communicating with.
In singing, How Great Thou Art, I think Angelina was singing it in the same key as when Elvis sung that song.
It’s on her Instagram not on her TikToks
Angelina is 12 years older
By the way... you might enjoy this one where she is recording Dancing Cheek to Cheek... it's beautiful and there is a sweet bit where she discusses an incorrect word ("glambers" rather than "gamblers"), I think as written on the lyric sheet she's referring to ua-cam.com/video/UcpED1nPkXA/v-deo.html
Same key as Elvis ❤️
