My first thought was Keygen music which is mostly chiptune music thats made by people who hack/crack software and games, they'll usually have make music for people to enjoy while the program is cracking their files.
installation music is (kind of) a real thing! it's basically ambient that's been commissioned for museums, or art installations. a lot of it doesn't get officially released I'd imagine, the only album I know for sure would count is Inoyama Land's "Commissions: 1977-2000", I'm like 99% sure I've seen it called Installation Music somewhere before. if you like weird ambient it's super super good
adding to this, brian eno has a comp called music for installations which im fairly certain was literal music for installations that's slowly getting released piece by piece on streaming!

Between Horse the Band and offshoots of the genre like Arsonists Get All the Girls there were some fun bangers in that genre. It's not going to impress anyone a decade later, but it was still great while it lasted

8:09 I actually really like this segment because it technically exists but its name (that I'm aware of) is Serialism (for the opposite of Minimalism) and Totalism (for Minimalism with extra touches). These three genres are REALLY cool and some of my favorite music ever (i.e. Music For 18 Musicians, The Ascension, Tonal Plexus, etc.)
Not at all an obscure genre nerd and I got the first two right very unexpectedly (although Birmingham Techno was pretty easy, every major UK city about 10% of the population are DJs- I also correctly realised Cape Jazz meant from the cape in SA), I got very close to getting Slowstyle but psyched myself out, I probably would have guessed Grebo if not for the clue about it being British, it sounds like a Deep South thing.
Birmingham techno is one of my favorite techno subgenres and Surgeon is one of the best electronic musicians hands down; its a shame the scene is so unknown...

Being from the midlands I did know the term Grebo though!! We used to use it to describe skater kids, so the meaning must have shifted a bit overtime
