Yes, the sound quality out of the box is really amazing and has caught many listeners by surprised already. Don't worry, the addiction is infectious once caught on it, I understand 😄
@@locmanw1583 there is no better or worse. The scenarios are different I would say. 300B driven by 6SN7 may not have the power to drive some speakers, and the low output may struggle in some setup and dynamics will not be as large and extensive than 211, 805, 845 tubes can bring. Having said that, 300B output gives very intricate details to vocals which can be very soothing. That trait will lend itself to the 845s when 300Bs are driving them - adds that flavour, but will taste different from a plate of wholly 300B 🙂
Put simply the 211 valve SOUNDS best. 845 close second. 805 dead last. The 805 sounds crude and mechanical and abit clangy vs a 211/845 but obviously gives more power and maybe has a slightly drier/faster bass. The 845 is very close to a 211 and just misses the last 10% of refinement but gives about 3 to 4 db more headroom. The 805 valve is purely for speakers where efficiency is around 85db but id avoid it personally. Overall the 845 is my all time favourite valve when implemented well... dynamics, soundstage, tonal qualities. Its ore readily available and there some incredible choices now too! My final note would be the big triode valves (and others to less extent) are only as good as the transformers of the amp and frankly these cheapo chinese copy cats are horrible in this respect and theres alot of reliability problems with them too
How do you compare this amp to the R100 330B 805 and 211? I think the difference its only the wattage power but hey I'm no audio guru~ Love the 300B sound though! Wonder how this amp will sound on my JBL L50 vintage speakers... Please advise~ Thanks
Hi, sorry for the late reply. There is no comparison made with other dedicated phono stages as that is not the main function of this amp. One should see the built-in phono stage as an added positive for the convenience of whom may have Turntables to have the versability to use just one pair of phono cables in the entire system with this tube amp.
Hi, don't worry, we are all sharing what we know. Your KEF LS50 wireless is an active speakers which has already an in-built amp. This amp couldn't connect to them. This amp is for passive speakers without an amp built inside which will also have speaker binding posts.
Nice speakers! Haven't heard them myself, but I think either one works. Very much depends on what genres of music you listen to. Majority of vocals I would be leaning towards 845.
They are fairly easy to drive - R100 should power them well relatively easy. Matching, however, is another matter of personal taste in myriad of sources, variables and factors altogether.
I'm i wrong ? but doesn't this unit sounds /musicality rivals, its way better then any primaluna amplifier unit ever will,,,can anyone please give me , clarification, cause I'm seriously interested in purchasing a unit, and I can only afford 1 unit, please need suggestions and help.,thanks.
I have this unit, r-100 Muzishare and a primaluna hp dialogue. I prefer this r-100 by far. holographic , much more musical, magical sound. i use it with my Klipsch forte iii's.
@@guccisasha heyyy thanks for answering the primaluna seems though to be a much more longer lasting unit,,but not the necessarily the most musical one,,its what my critical thinking, and intuition,,tells me .
The Vacuum Tubes Unbeatable Audio - Qualities Than Solid States Amplifiers .........Wow What A stunning Vocals.
Great amp! Sounds fantastic out of box and has lots of tube rolling options, which could be an addiction by itself 😆 (at least for me).

Looks and sounds amazing!! Could you describe the sonic differences between the 845 vs 805? Holographic, 3-D imaging? Frequency extension? Dynamics?

Sounds great. I'd replace those 12ax7s with Telefunken or RCAs.
Agree, 12ax7 has so many quality choices the improvements will be significant!
The video is very good, and the product looks very beautiful, just like ours. ha-ha

I have answered it here ua-cam.com/video/q28dH0o-gcc/v-deo.html. It should be able to drive your JBL well :)
