Professor Katharine🍎 I want to express my gratitude for your hard work and dedication in teaching your beautiful language🙌🌹Thanks for all the complementary information💪💡📘 May God bless you!
You really have what it takes to be a t great teacher.Your videos are always exciting to watch. This video about accent brings me some memories back from Scotland. My native language is Spanish ,but I lived in Scotland back in 2027.Every time I hear you speak, your accent takes me back to the UK.By the way, I am from Panama.🇵🇦
Thank you so much for all of your videos, I usually start my mornings by listening ur channel and it is the best to get accustomed to speaking British accent. I can easily grasp new vocabs, idioms, proverbs and phrases through your effort in videos. Keep your awesome work, my pretty lady 💖
Dear Katharine, I have been watching your videos for several months, and I want you to know that the way you share your lessons with us feels like an invitation that can't be refused. An irresistible wink.
Thank you for this literary and phonetics lesson! The author Daphne du Maurier is a great personality. It is a pleasure to listen to your reading. Your British accent is perfect and I like the way of shadowing. This is a very good way to learn accents. I can definitely state that your lesson has improved my English prononciation.
I tend to rely on what I usually hear, when people talk. I mean, in the USA, I had to try and absorb people's way of speaking. In the UK, had I been there, I would have tried to adopt British ways of speaking. With lessons, like this one, I guess that I would need to spend a lot of time on learning an accent. I don't know how British speakers would perceive my kind of accent. I know that Americans often thought that I was from one of the former British colonies. All I know is that I learned English with the book that the family used. I didn't know, at the time, that there were different kinds of accent, for English speakers. In retrospect, it seems that the book that the family used was for a British accent. What amazes me is that I didn't have any sounds to listen to. I just followed the explanation, in the book, on how to pronounce each word. I only had the book. I didn't have any cassettes (CD's didn't exist, yet). So, how did I get an accent that seemed British? I didn't practice English with anyone, before going to the USA. Unless a lie pinned me down : on the plane, I told the person sitting next to me, a fellow, that I was, first, going to New York, to go, next, to England, to study. And, in New York, I realized that I couldn't get a word that people were saying. And, people couldn't understand me, either. I asked someone : "Where is the lavatory?" The what? Where was I? Lucky for me, it wasn't anything quite urgent. I never found that so-called lavatory. If we go back in time, I'll need more formal English lessons.
it's now night here. I sometimes take a class online after watching your videos. It's good to prepare my mind to Japanese to English. Thank you very much for every week.😃
It’s so interesting to remind students and people of the importance of reading books in this time and age where everyone is hooked to their screen👍. I love shadowing especially when it comes out from a beautiful RP accent such as Katharine’s 😁 Thanks a bunch Kathy for this nice video 👌 ❤
Good example of succulent , and I still remember that word from 10 years ago reading in ... Hemingway's beautiful wrting style " A Moveable Feast " book Quote : " As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away , leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture , and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine , I lost the empty feeling ."
Katherine, I love your story telling time!! I always have to watch these videos more than once to make sure i don’t miss anything! Beautiful earrings and dress colours!! (green and burgundy)
and I’d love you to do some videos with lines from British television series or something conversational for us to shadow! Something more day-to-day life and easy for us to say to people! Just an idea. Love you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful day this friday because we could learn and hear your fascinating pronunciation, which is like a music and a great vocabulary chosen by a great person like you.when we hear you we move to another world full of beauty and happiness it s like a journey in nature and river.my modest English can't express my gratitude ❤️ thank you Katherine.

1. Kat , I m so focused on the accent stuff I didnt notice your beautiful dress at first , it looks gorgeous. 2. In reading aloud , can you make a video lesson about "how to make a long sentence more understandable for audience " , for example for children , using more commas in the speech , or a thick melody ,intonation , or whatever is needed , like ; She turned and sped through the trees , towards the house smiling guiltily to herself like a child hugging a secret . would become : She turned , and sped through the trees , towards the house , smiling guiltily to herself , like a child , hugging a secret .

In reading aloud , can you make a video lesson about
"how to make a long sentence more understandable
for audience " , for example
for children , using more commas in the speech ,
or a thick melody ,intonation , or whatever is needed , like ;
She turned and sped through the trees ,
towards the house smiling guiltily
to herself like a child hugging a secret .
would become :
She turned , and sped through the trees ,
towards the house , smiling guiltily
to herself , like a child , hugging a secret .
