To be honest, I didn’t think John had a clearance like that in him anymore. Incredible stuff, right up there with the Masters clearance vs Ronnie all those years ago. Like they say - form is temporary, class is permanent. 👏🏻
Defo took the bull by the horns with that double, and he could have played safe with the red on the cushion but went for it. That took a lot of bottle and courage.
It's the easy things that get harder. He can do this but might miss a black off it's spot. Congrats to him.

I love the fairness and respect in snooker on the table and after the matches between the players.
It was do or die. Soon as he got that double on the red, he was going to clear up. That final red was superb. Fair play to him.

That was an incredible clearance. Pressure on every ball really, because one mistake and Allen would be in there to take the match. Higgins probably more relaxed on a 147 than the tension he must’ve been feeling in that frame. Glad he went for the last red too, I didn’t want another ten minutes of safety exchanges and seeing it decided on a poor safety shot. Proper, brave snooker.
2 potential shots of the tournament in John's clean up. The 1st and last red. It meant so much more then a quarter final slot to John. Still in the 16.
Balls the size of King Kong. Ripping that last red down the cushion was one of the best shots I’ve ever seen

I watched it live, an honor for me to have been witness to only the 8th decider frame in Crucible history to be decided on the final black ball.

Reminded me of his clearance against Ronnie in 2006 masters final. Amazing. Some of what he does is unique to him. Love to see him in the final against Ronnie.

I love John Higgins, and I really really hope that the interviewer could stop bringing the bad thoughts back into John’s mind… He just made one of the best clearance in history and he is enjoying the moment and starts to believe in himself..
