Fun video to look up on UA-cam now that you’ve seen this: In the summer between seasons 12 and 13, Jared and Jensen were onstage at a con and were asked about this episode (it was purposefully leaked that they were going to do this). Jared was explaining how it wouldn’t be until episode 16, but because of the long lead time animators need, they had already done the voices for it 9 months earlier. He describes Jensen and Misha and himself going to the sound studio….and Jared couldn’t get another word in because the crowd erupted! Jensen just buried his face in his hands and looked at Jared with a “really?!” Jared completely confused looks at Jensen, asking what he did. Jensen says “Misha.” Jared still didn’t get it. Remember, this is BETWEEN seasons 12 and 13. Finally, Jensen looks at Jared again and says “Cass is dead.” The look on Jared’s face when he realises that he spoiled this biggest spoiler for the upcoming season, that had been so carefully NOT leaked by anyone in the production! So. Hilarious!!
I love his full stop when he realizes that it's not a scooby themed episode but instead a scooby crossover episode
There's something that's just so hilarious about the Scooby gang losing it when they realized the supernatural was real....
I love seeing Dean having the absolute best time. With him setting up the Deancave, to him geeking out and enjoying the nightshirts. Best moment in Deans life was being able to stretch his mouth like Shaggy & Scooby

I have been DYING to watch you react to this episode lol. As a fellow Scooby doo fan this was truly incredible. I watched this live when it aired and had absolutely no idea it was coming. I sat there in complete shock for about 5 minutes lmao. This is why supernatural is my favorite show of all time. It gives you everything you wanted and more at the most random times and in the best ways. I mean they had like 600 seasons to do cool shit like this 😂 I even went out and bought a few Scoobynatural shirts bc I loved it so much! Great reaction as always!

Dean acts like he hates Fred but he’s clearly a big fan and is just trying to hide it. Also love how we never get Cas’s full story of becoming ruler over supernatural bugs
Both Scooby-do and Supernatural are part of Warner Brothers, so they can use it :-)
The shenanigans in the cartoon were actually pretty close to an actual episode of Scooby Doo. And yeah, Warner Brothers owns both Scooby Doo and Supernatural. WB TV Network (known has the WB) was the original channel for Supernatural before the CW was created.
of all the shows they wanted to do crossovers with (arrow, vampire diaries etc) scooby doo is what they eventually do and it was AWESOME!! so much fun and yeah that it happens in season 13 is just wild. its so good that this is a full on crossover which i believe is the only one since changing channels was parody of the different shows it featured. but yeah having teh actual voice actors and the actual SD animators doing it makes a huge difference, as you noted as soon as they wet into it you pointed out it was the same animation style. what you have to watch is the behind the scenes of the boys filming their voice acting, love the bts of Jensen doing the Dean eating the big sandwich, funny. Glad you enjoyed it so much.
Of course it goes back to 1969, that's one hippie van 😂
I had never watched Supernatural, except for bits and pieces here and there, but when I saw all the hype for Scoobynatural, that pushed me to binge watch it so that I was caught up by the day this episode aired.
That's exactly how i started the show as well!!! the hype was everywhere lol
also, we know Dean is a Daphne fan since his mention of her in Playthings in season 2.

I love everything but the artist rendering of Dean.
The only reason I knew that cartoon was Dean is because Sam called him Dean.. and the voice. To me, the only resemblance is the hair color. Sam and Cas were drawn well.. Dean.. nope.
Ages ago on fedbook, a fan did a Scooby style drawing of Dean that was MUCH better.
Somewhere in video-land there's footage of the boys doing the vocals.. which they did before the animators got to work. Rare in that world.. the actors usually have to match their vocals to the animations.
Jensen had to do that ending Scoobydoobedo thing on a busy street in Vancouver.. more than once. He said at a con that it's one of the more uncomfortable things he did in public.
Best episode by FAR! This crossover was absolutely crazy and unexpectedly expected 😂
alright, yeah this episode makes season 13 worth buying the dvds. This is the brilliance/individuality I have learned to expect. But of course I just have to add for measure, remember this was done before the Lucifer episode by a few years. I can not think of a prime time show that did a cartoon crossover before, not saying there wasn't one, I am just not aware of it.

love how you didn't know or think about it being a crossover. we knew about it in advance so its always fun seeing someone who doesn't know watch it. love dean saying SOB! lol. this was what we didn't want anyone spoiling earlier when you mentioned something about scooby in this season, might have been during regarding dean episode when he was watching it or something.
Frank Welker is a vocal genius. It would be hard to decide between him and Peter Cullen, but either could be considered the modern day Mel Blanc(Bugs Bunny). He was Megatron and about ten other voices in the Transformers while Cullen was Optimus Prime. Both have over two hundred credits and easily over a hundred unique voices covering a wide spectrum (Optimus Prime to Eeyore Megatron to Scooby Doo)
I was earlier in the show when I found out about this episode, couldn’t wait for it, and skipped a few seasons to watch it. Even though I’d heard the hype, it far exceeded my expectations and became one of my favorite episodes!

The reason Sam always acts more like the adult in these situations is because he had some time to be a kid and develop. Dean had to grow up too fast so he’s constantly trying to be a kid for once
