In North America, the Haier Group Corporation owns GE and Hotpoint. Most of the appliances are still made in Louisville, Kentucky Whirlpool owns 56% of Hotpoint in the UK. Hotpoint is an old name. In the 1970s my aunt ran a hair salon. She had a Maytag washer and a Hotpoint Dryer for the towels they used in the salon.
