@Red Rebel__ so are you, even tough android is BASED on linux, it uses a totally different framework and engine to run apps, so krita isn't "made for android", because even tough it was designed for linux, it doesn't mean it will run on android. That's why it's so hard to run android apps natively on linux.
@@c0llateral192 well it's hard to run native Android apps on Linux But the opposite isn't true Linux Virtualization on Android is much better than Android Virtulization on Linux However the main problem with porting Krita was X86 to arm Conversion OpenGL acts funny when you try to do this but it's still way more stable than porting from DirectX
I use Artflow and i love it. Its actually overwhelming because of how much stuff is actually on it. The price is definitely worth what you get. Yes they made it to where they get out of your way and let you draw, however, they also made it to where you can keep your toolbar out in the open. Ive had it for yrs and am still learning this app. Im not sure what artflow you used but they have a bunch of brushes and pencils, pens and markers to choose from.
I think ibis paint is more focused toward phones, and imo is the best in that regard. I think it has a good layer and fx system too. I use sketchbook on a tablet, but if ibis paint improved its engine so that it felt more like you were drawing when using a stylus and adapted better to pressure, I'd just use that. I tried krita, but it doesn't seem all that great with a tablet only. I had no idea how to get the menus back up when going fullscreen, other than some text popping up mentioning keyboard shortcuts. I think the best options for simply drawing on android are sketchbook and infinite painter.
I used infinite painter for a bit and for tablets I agree with you, the way it draws and paints felt so nice and I loved the interface. Even got the paid version I loved it so much. Ran into this bug though that makes your layers disappear when you load back into a saved project for some reason and that killed it for me. I occasionally check back to see if they've fixed it but it seems in 2022 people still have this problem and it's been around for a few years which makes me reluctant to try it again. I hope you don't run into that issue though so you can keep enjoying it! Thanks for the reviews. After clip studio changing their pricing I was wanting to see what good alternatives there are for Android. If I had an iPad I would definitely go procreate but I don't have that option so it's always nice to get reviews from other people that work on Android tablets. Definitely considering Krita after this 👍
The one really nicething about krita is you can import abr files - so if youve got a big brush library in photoshop, you can just import them. Moving from my desktop setup to tablet, this is really nice but... infinite painter just feels better 😅
You probably already know but you can switch to a simple mode on CSP now, makes the UI much less cluttered, although you may still prefer Infinite Painter.
Thanks this was helpful, I am the same with CSP I will do a one off payment of like $50 for an App like it but $100 a year ongoing? That's a hard pass from me, it's frustrating these companies charge So much then like Adobe you hear they buy out someone like macromedia and have a jacked up monopoly on the market, painter looks like the APP for me, I feel like having a mix of apps is as good as 1 expensive one anyway, Krita Sketchbook and Painter perhaps, I have found sometimes I've paid for things like videogames and not used them anyway so I don't like the pressure of paying to draw like a gym membership haha
I got artflow for maybe 3€ years ago and love this app very much... But I don't like the filling tool... because I never fills the hole thing and lefting a white unfilled Line between the line and the filling. And you can't pick up the right color with the pipette tool... It's always different except black and white. And you can't choose a cymk spectrum. ... But it's still worth the money, I mean you get a nice drawing app without ads and many pencils for the price of a good chocolate bar. 😂
I want to like Infinite Painter because i like the ease of use compared to most other apps for quick things, but coming from ipad and procreate something about it just always feels "off" but I don't want to sit down at my desk with a bluetooth keyboard for CSP
Good video. I agree with you on *KRITA*. I feel like I need a dedicated keyboard and mouse for Krita on my S8 Ultra. Felt the same way on S7 Plus. Clip Studio has a similar issue but much less so. With Clip, I can tell they designed tablet functions into it. AND with KRITA on both S7 and S8, there is this weird jittery line issue with diagonal lines. It's subtle though, so some people might miss it. *CONCEPTS* is my go-to for general sketching. You can do full painting, but it's more difficult because the app is vector based. But for sketchy type art, I think it's fantastic. Some small quirks with its pencils BUT not a deal-breaker. You have infinite canvas functionality where you can scroll and draw in any direction forever or until your file is so ginormous the whole thing force quits. (I've never had a force quit.) *INFINITE PAINTER* is what I'd use for painterly art that I do not intend to continue on PC. (That could change as I get more comfortable with Painter.) *CLIP STUDIO* is what I might use if I do intend to port back and forth between tablet and PC.
I get frustrated using Krita on my android tablet because of the keyboard shortcut issue (no keyboard here...), and all the tutorials I've found of course only use the shortcuts, so I have to find things out myself. It's the only free app I ever want to return to though, and I refuse to pay a damn subscription for a drawing app (it's $9 a month not $2).
Great video. I've been sketching on my note with the stylus on the memo thing 😁 got more free time and looking for an app to play around with to do more.
What do you think of medibang? I really find it comfortable to use, it's not the best with brushes and blending but the inking and pencils are nice also stabilisation too (I used to draw using my fingers on my phone XD)
I will put medibang in the tear with art flow Ibis paint but it would probably be my first choice out of those I don't love the look of it but I seen some pretty good artwork made from it. At the end of the day that's really all is about
I do have a problem with folk who spend such short period reviewing these apps, then basically rubbish them, I wonder whether as professionals they can completely detach themselves from high-end art apps they have previously used and subconsciously compare other lower-end apps to these previously used apps. I don't disagree with his conclusion about Infinite Painter, but perhaps other apps may have their advantages if given a longer accessment. We not all professionals nor can we all afford or want apps like Photoshop.
✌🏿2 all. New viewer here. I rocks with infinite painter too. At 14:40 in the vid, how did you move the lower part down?! I haven't tried it on the tablet (infinite painter) b.u.t. I use it on my note 20. Works great for me! Peace
Man I just purchased the new iPad specifically for pro create. But I hate ios software so much I'm returning this crap. Sucks android doesn't have pro create
Krita does, but it's pretty minimal compared to something like Inkscape. Infinite Paint has a sister app called Infinite Design which is a vector drawing app.

Yeah procreate is very good
You can use clip studio shortcuts without a keyboard
you can costumize user interface in krita and put your favorite tools in the upper bar = setting>configure toolbars
in infinite paint too you can drag your favorite tools to the upper side of the screen and so create your toolbar
Good video.
