@@PeteJohnsMusicthanks Pete! I haven’t tried the code but will do and let you know if it does, although the software is only CHF 18 for me so it’s not that expensive. I’m still using the trial version for now just to test. I do have some sync problems, like the software is a couple seconds late from what’s actually happening on camera so I was a bit disappointed about that, but it could have been because of my computer being a bit slow. Did you have that issue as well at some point or have heard of it before?

My device/computer isn't showing up when I'm in the Screen Mirroring section. Any advice?
That’s odd? Maybe try closing the app and turning off and on both devices? Otherwise maybe reach out to the company.

Thx. Reflector 2 and 3 stopped working on windows for me. Feedback from air squirrels at the time was that my phone may have been too old, despite being Samsung s8 - when the latest Samsung flagship was s9. No updates over the yrs. I purchased for the device frames. Buyer beware. If you don't mind mirroring without frame, windows 10 has a built in mirroring device. Maybe you guys may get lucky with teflector 4! - no such luck for me and plenty of problems. Don't want to get stung a 3rd time. Hope this helps and this message doesn't get deleted.

Question - I am able to connect my iPad and phone to the app but I am not getting the screen pop up like it does. It says it's connected but I can't watch it anywhere? I can't find it displaying.
That’s odd? Just the standard screen? Some apps don’t allow mirroring at all (Netflix etc).

I can't find the settings on the bottom of the screen when connecting my iPad to my Mac. All I see is my iPad screen on my Mac but I can't do anything else but press escape to stop mirroring. I can't even find my iPad in the devices list.... Please help :(
Might have been some changes perhaps? I haven’t used it in a while. The settings are there but can be hard to find sometimes.

This tutorial unfortunately skips the first step...the download. I'm wanting to know which version I download to view M1 tablet on PC? Do I download 4.0.3 for windows to PC to support mirroring from Ipad?
Download the version based on the device you will be viewing on - PC or Mac.
On your iPad there is a circle that's red, is that part of reflector? Is that available for the iPhone as well? Thanks

i get an error trying to mirror from my android and says casting has ended, but it never showed anything, not even a black screen

2. If it 's can share screen, it always kick me out of the screen sharing in about 30 mins

Yeah I’ve had some issues like that this as well. I think it’s just an issue with Reflector and Mac. Hopefully we get an update that helps with this.

Apparently there is no download for an ios version of the app, only mac os and windows. I want to cast from my iphone to another iphone. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if there is a way to automatically close the window once you stop mirroring? I am using Airparrot 3 to mirror my screen from one Windows PC and Reflector 4 to Receive the mirror from another Windows PC. When I stop mirroring, the Reflector window just stays there with a frozen screen from the last thing I was casting and I have to close it out. I wish there was a setting to just close automatically when it stops receiving the airplay signal.

I am not sure if there I something is wrong with my setting. Screen mirroring is fine until I launch a video, the application in windows will stop playing the video. It just play for less than a second then pauses there. It's the same for a video in youtube app, youtube from safari/chrome or other video playing apps on my iphone. I don't know if it's only me or other people are encountering the same problem.
Hmmmm…. I haven’t had this experience. When I play video it does shift to the Airplay playback mode and full screen. Also some apps simply don’t allow video playback via airplay ads a copyright protection thing.

Can you mirror onto a TV with google cast without any Wi-Fi? I want to cast MAcAir to a home TV with no wifi. Can this do that?
With no WiFi? Generally not. You might need to use an HdMI adapter instead.

Howdy Pete my friend! Question? Can we control the device we are mirroring? For instance, I use my android mobile camera with Filmic Pro but can't use Filmic remote across separate developed devices. I can however use Apower Mirror app and control the Filmic pro settings on my android from my Macbook for free as long as I connect the two with a data cable. Just curious if Reflector can do a better job than Apower? I'd like to find another option.
Hey there. Hmmmm.... I don’t believe so. It’s very much focused on just reflecting from the mobile device to your PC or Mac. So you are probably better off sticking with your current strategy

I'm using my macbook as my second monitor, and i'm filming video from my iphone x, can i mirror my face on the app? if that makes any sense so i can see my self on the macbook like doing selfie(?)
Um….. the camera acts a little strangely over airplay and I haven’t tried exactly this sorry so not 100% sure.
Seems much more advanced compared to Airserver for ios/Mac devices. Would you agree this is a better app?

@@CFFollis_Disabile_DOC I'd love to know if this is possible as I can't see the option to do it on the trial version of Reflector 4 and they don't have any info on their website about it. It's a pretty important feature for my device recordings to be able to edit them after recording. Anyone know if its possible?
Hi, the program is downloaded and I can connect to my phone. It shows a window that shows it is connected but there is no mirrored screen anywhere. I can even hear the audio through the device that I am mirroring to but nothing shows on screen. If you could help or give any advice that would be great. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with Reflector 4 and a Windows 10 computer. Thanks
Hey there. Sorry to hear. You might need to seek support from the app creators. Also make sure you are not using apps that may have copyrighted material as this can impact it also.

Hello, I have a question. I make music on my iPhone 11 but the screen is small. I have a medium-sized flat screen tv and wondered if I buy an Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter, could I mirror garage band to my flat screen tv?I also have my keyboard and mouse connected to my phone as well.
Yes you can send via HDMI with the right adapter but can’t use other USB devices at the same time - ua-cam.com/video/tlyqm3akK_M/v-deo.html
You don't need to plug cables into your iPhone, just use Airplay and send to an Apple TV wirelessly. Connect the Apple TV to your TV or your AV receiver via an HDMI cable. The price of the Apple's streaming device isn't much more than the cost of quality adaptors & cables (if at all), and will provide more functions, streaming options and your iPhone will be cable free.

How hard is it to sync audio with it? If I am demoing an app can I record my comments over top? It would have been nice to have actually seen a recording of a session demo'ing an iPhone instead of you in your studio? Maybe I'm asking for too much 😊
Hey there. So o mostly use it live but there is definitely a bit of latency to work with depending on your hardware.

Hey Nigel. Reflector helps you mirror from your iPad to your Mac but unfortunately not the other way.

Background colour of your iPad or iPhone? The background of the screen is whatever you set on your Mac or PC?

It may be more to do with updates to the software on your devices perhaps? I still find Reflector 3 works almost as elk as 4.

Right?? Wasn’t aware of that as I only have an M1 Mac on Big Sur.
Question for the community. Live image from iphone appears great with minimum latency, EXCEPT after I hit the record button on my iPhone, the latency became 5+ seconds which defeats the purpose of mirroring my IOS device. I tested this issue on two separate (fast/professional) networks, issue is ongoing. Does anyone has any work around on this one?
So you’re recording on the phone side as well as the screen in Reflector? I just use the recording option in Refleftor or record my stream with OBS or StreamYard personally.
@@PeteJohnsMusic I am recording ONLY on iphone (it is positioned way above my head). Reflector merely serves as a "reflector" or monitor for myself while iphone is filming.
Gotcha. Yeah, I think the amount of processing required to both Airplay and record at the same time is always going to cause some latency.
And how can I control the iPhone from my computer? Or this is not possible with Reflector?
No unfortunately it’s just something to project your iOS device to another device.

I’m trying to use Reflector 4 to mirror my iPad with IOS15 to the computer, but it isn’t working. My laptop shows up in my iPad’s screen mirror menu, but when i click it it loads for a couple minutes before giving up and saying it can’t connect. No code to connect shows up on my computer. I’ve tried on two different wifi networks, and with both my iPad and my iPhone, and all have had the same result. Any idea what might be going on?

It works very similarly but I don’t use Android sorry. And I’m now Mac and not PC. I’m sure there’s Android specific videos.
Isn’t that just like the old buying a DAW for a bigger screen and getting the meters and some controls on your iPhone ?
Not quite sure what you’re asking sorry? It won’t be for everyone but works really well for demonstrations and tutorials.
