i remember watching this on my TV, i went completely BALLISTIC. More than the fans here, no doubt in my mind. That was one of Papi's greatest hits ever.
I'm a Yankee fan, and as Much as I hate to say it, the Red Sox are the best looking team in the playoffs. I have all the respect for David Ortiz and he needed something like this to happen to him. I'm happy for him!
I love this!! It's been 27 years and 1 day since my 1st game at Fenway. Sam Horn hit a grand slam against the Jay's and Clemens got the win...What a feeling
Each time Ortiz crosses the plate after hitting a home run, he looks up and points both index fingers to the sky in tribute to his mother Angela Rosa Arias, who died in a car crash in January 2002 at the age of 46.
My daughter and grandson were at the game! I just got all her photo memories. Pats came from behind earlier to beat the Saints. Then this. Those were the days 😢🎉🎉
Atleast one person at this game had to have been at the Patriots game as well. There was more than enough time to be at both games. If someone was then holy shit balls what a day!!!
I'm from E. Boston, now reside in L.A. so I had to watch this on FOX. I feel like was at Fenway with this video. Thnx for the post. BTW, did you catch the hot brunette 2 rows in front of you. She was on tv all night..
0:25-0:28. For those who are curious on what that thing is in the upper right corner that is the FOX tracking line that measures how far a ball is hit. If you watch the FOX TV broadcast you will notice on the replays a tracking line that follows a ball hit and it measures how far it went within seconds. They did this during last year's World Series on Pablo Sandoval's 3 home runs in Game 1. I just thought on making that clear.
"would have gotten swept" is stating a future projection. In any case we should have a pretty tight series and I like our Tigers chances with Verlander and Fister pitching games 3 and 4 at home. Our bullpen is our achilles heel and this loss may comeback to haunt us if we lose the series, but I just think the momentum and confidence of being up 2-0 coming home, with JV pitching pointed towards a strong possibility of a sweep, imo :)
If they had tickets to both games, they were probably amongst the people leaving the Pats game at least after Brady's interception, so as not to miss too much of the Sox game.
Man, I probably already watched it over a thousand times. Still gives me chills as if I were watching it live.

Baseball always looks better in person; love moments like this.
Each time Ortiz crosses the plate after hitting a home run, he looks up and points both index fingers to the sky in tribute to his mother Angela Rosa Arias, who died in a car crash in January 2002 at the age of 46.

look at how high Middlebrooks jumps after the ball leaves the yard as he crosses home plate. Amazing!

Holy Shit that's such a sick video. #fearthebeard

The Sox still have to beat Scherzer or Verlander one more time to get the series.
Last night was awesome, but there's still lots of work to do.
