The Russians have a combined total of 58 subs (Nuclear, conventional, and etc). Realistically not more then 20 subs could be at the coasts. 1/3rd will be on station, 1/3rd will be on route to replace the subs on station and 1/3rd will be undergoing repair, maintenance, or crew rest.

We noticed the Tug that went to Cuba, Russia's Fleet units have become so unreliable that many have to have a Tug in escort to pull them to port when they break down.. Russia's Aircraft Carrier was always accompanied by at least one Ocean going tug as its engines crapped out often leaving it adrift without power ..
