Winch, I also do not run body clips. I use a body clip only to hold down a round large servo wheel that I’ve drilled a hole in and covered with heavy duty Velcro. I then put a small Velcro piece on the body and that has worked for me so I never lose clips and it has a much better scale look.
Happy Birthday! Badges....always badges, oh that's right, we don't need no stinking' badges! Don't do many light bars, but seem to have lots of winches....& dogs.....seriously, have to have a driver & a dog in the pass seat.
Great video and video quality. Between you and Matt I am definitely taking notes on upgrades as my builders kit is due shortly. For me, my must have is Hyrax tires. 👍
Great episode I also used the white springs both front and rear, this did allow me to get a 60:40 compression to droop ratio very happy with the end result.
Happy Birthday! I've run lights on all my rigs since 06'. Here in Norway it goes dark after 4pm during the winterm and it's nice to have lights if you sudden want to drive at the evening. Have never actually bought any lightbar, the last one I made myself. All other had light buckets in their body.
Team KNK makes great aluminum spacer kits in varying sizes. They are definitely super handy to have around! I'm a fan of higher viscosity fluid in my shocks on the crawlers, for sure. It makes them drive much better IMO and more scale.
What made you decide to move the sliders up and not slide them in closer to the chassis? Is it because you wanted them secured with all 4 screws on each side rather than just two?
✌🏻😎🏴 I can’t wait to see this truck finished. Could you please explain spring rates. Is the higher number stronger or weaker? & I have an oil questions but I don’t know if they are stupid or not. But I’m going to ask anyway. If I were to mix a heavier weight oil into a lighter weight oil would the heavier oil travel to the bottom? Or would it just mix?
@@odomandr I hear ya. At a local comp with 16 guys entered X4's took 2nd and 3rd. Comp before that X4 took 1st. Granted, not national level stuff but still, point is, truck is very capable.
Do you know how to make an scx10 ii sidehilling better? Mine is running pen springs below the piston in both the front and rear and springs without perches in the rear
And can't u droop set up urs shock? Run 10mm shock bigger cuz when u droop it pulls that 10mm away but also have a lil flex but also pull truck back to ground
I never run droop suspension. It looks cool but i stand by the fact that the performance is not nearly as good. This is something that has been tested for decades in RC competition crawlers.
Hell yeah mean I'm kinda new to it all I got the newest rustler yellow fully moded trying sell to get a trx4 sport to build but I want the 1969 black blazer kit I been sitting here watching all 16 videos learning a bit but one question I want get like spartan boat and trailer now if I was to overdrive/underdrive axles for preforming would it hurt to put around also pulling spartan
🤔 If you use magnets to hold the body to the chassis instead of body clips you won’t loose body clips either 😂😂😂😂 My must have on a trail truck it’s gotta be lit up like the Las Vegas strip for those night runs.
Wouldn't the frame rails be taking the hit while crawling now that you set your rock sliders higher? The frame rails on my trx4 are pretty scratched up already and I have my rock sliders in the stock position that just so happen to be in line with the frame rails. I can't imagine how much worse the damage would be if it weren't for the sliders doing their job.
The weight depends on the shocks, the truck, and the goal of course. I don’t know the weight of this one off hand, I’m just going by feel at this point.
WTF again?! If weight is such an issue what is with the metal spacers? You can freaking make plastic one so dam easy. This is about the most hypocritical build possible. Don't suggest build ethics if you are not going to live by them. EDIT: I have to stop watching this series since all it is doing is causing frustration. I think I know why. Because this series is for people with zero academic education on this subject. Before I started doing pro-comp with real full sized vehicles this would of been perfect. But now 50 years later it just driving me nuts just how not-professional this build is going and it is unreasonable. I should not be so darn critical when I can't expect everyone to have the same education and experience I have. So I am sorry for my earlier posts I will be leaving them as an example of how to be an a-hole.
dude youre a fucking moron change the channel, josh's show is great so why dont you put your "full sized" off road comp lie of a truck up your educated ass.
Bed rolls glued to the doors. A Must-Have. Happy Birthday!
Brilliant idea gluing the magnets inside like that. I love how your TRX4-Sport has turned out.
A great build!
I always put extra body pins in extra post holes ,so when I do loose them I have back up right on the truck
Same
Spring information was awesome mate thank you 👍👍👍
I’m liking the builds. You’re giving me lots of ideas for my trx4s. Looking forward to the next video.

Always #1 woot woot. Gonna be a good one. Lol my morning just got slightly better hahaha
My must have accessory is the Warn winch! Go for it!👍

Inner fenders.
Just for fun I did rear steer on one.. man did it bring the fun back into trailing. Great job guys keep it up.
I 3D printed some spacers for mine that fit around the mounting post
I always put on a winch and lighting
Great video and video quality. Between you and Matt I am definitely taking notes on upgrades as my builders kit is due shortly. For me, my must have is Hyrax tires.
👍
Thank for making my Wednesday commutes entertaining 👍🏻 I appreciate your dedication to this hobby.
Good job keeping it free. Good points about keeping track of the body clips I think since 75 I have lost more than you have in the bag
The magnets are a great idea

Have never actually bought any lightbar, the last one I made myself.
All other had light buckets in their body.
I used some old metal Traxxas bushings to raise the sliders.
Great video, I'll be using these ideas in my current build. Thank you sir.

Magnets are a great tip. Thanks for that
It's looking very unique. A lot of ideas come to mine for a new build
My must-have accessory for all of my crawlers is my BPERC Products velcro side body mounts. Better than magnets and body clips!
Those link balls are a good idea, I used 13mm hex spacers for my build in the past, I wish I thought of that
Light kit and light bar!
Time to upgrade that front bumper
Awesome
And happy birthday!
Well done Josh. Solid this week! Must have for the trail?? Sweet Tires... I'm a nut for the scale ones that exist on full size rigs.
Bungie toe strap with my pullpal attached. Great for trail days.
Go to scale stuff? SSD Hubs w/rotors and the scale ssd locking hubs.
Bro love the build so far and u absolutely need a hidden winch
Winch, light bar
I like having metal bead locks for all my rigs, I hate glued tires!!!
Interesting 🙂
Lights
Must have, Proline tires.
Some type of drivers, whether it be a full 3d interior or a Bomber interior.
Gotta have lights!!!
What made you decide to move the sliders up and not slide them in closer to the chassis? Is it because you wanted them secured with all 4 screws on each side rather than just two?
Body not fit dude
Clearly, either way it doesn’t fit. I was asking Josh though thanks
As always I’m about to go to sleep then boom a new trx4 video

Pro-line, please release the honeycomb tires! PLEASE!!!👍😁
Fire extinguisher lol🧯
Winch it up!!
Quitter......there was one podium at nationals with a Traxxas portal truck. Have fun this weekend. Looking forward to the updates
Haha, imagine that! There will more.
@@baxrok2. 1 podium out of 9 spots ........

What is a good beginner crawler that is cheap
Looking good Josh, it needs a dog
What's more fitting to install, on the fenders? the defender (TRA8018) or the bronco type(TRA8072)
Bronco, the defender mounts to the body.
Do the filming at the old mine site with a spotter and do more exploring.
This week on the Scale Spank Off we use automotive grade lubricant to... Lube our chassis's 😋
Lol come on Josh, we know you banged out all those spacers on a Haas 😉
My kit came with white and orange springs, yours came with red ?
Do you know how to make an scx10 ii sidehilling better? Mine is running pen springs below the piston in both the front and rear and springs without perches in the rear
When will the volt meters be out
Full light kit with rock lights
You should put a Harley designs sticker on it
Put the same typ front bumper mount in the rear it will riase the rear bumper get more clearance
Dude you definitely need to put in a full light kit with a roof and bumper mounted led bar.

New camera filter this week🤔 you’ve got a nice orange glow going😄
New camera all together, Sony A6400. So I have to get used to it now.
🤔 If you use magnets to hold the body to the chassis instead of body clips you won’t loose body clips either 😂😂😂😂
My must have on a trail truck it’s gotta be lit up like the Las Vegas strip for those night runs.
Leds gotta have lights lol
Put on a wrking winch
I like to take a lawn chair and a radio to play loud rock & roll
Switch the shocks front to back. See how the red spring feels upfront. With the extra weight it might work out better?🤔
That would kill the proper weight transfer on hill climbs
@@odomandr just a thought. Couldn't hurt to try?
I just glued magnets to 2 of my bodys

Scratching the frame should be the least of concerns.
@@HarleyDesignsInc True true, I'm just a bit too paranoid about it.
Do you run this thick of oil in comp crawling? What is the weight of this trx4, that you're building here? Trying to learn.
The weight depends on the shocks, the truck, and the goal of course. I don’t know the weight of this one off hand, I’m just going by feel at this point.
@@HarleyDesignsInc well I'm looking to get change the oil in my trx4 sport for comp crawling. What weight would you suggest I start at?
I say 2.2 tires on a Trail rig
9mm? Dont you mean 23/64"? 😂
High lift jack. Scale cooler
Don't have have gearing on the rig over geared to be a trail truck 🤔
Can't I died a bunch thos body clips like u did with diff covers
Did you get all those body clips for you b-day? :-D
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Make it a comp truck, we need to know how to make a good comp truck out of trx4. Please

Y'all really shouldn't call this a "budget" build. I do enjoy the build off very much though
its not a "budget" build. its a build on a 50 usd a week budget, as he tried to explain a million times.
So painful that u just destroying that nice looking body bit by bit..😁 can’t believe u can lose body clips by just crawling ..

no wonder why this man use a cap on the head...
wish america traxxas company can makeing their own R/C traxxas models / parts in here america
