It is really nice to see how close the art style is while still keeping the popping colors of anime these days. The issue I'm seeing is that they don't have the characters bodies really stretched out. Like Vegeta's sacrifice blast he's nearly standing up straight, where as in Z he's more stretched out. Same with Goku's spirit bomb before and after.
I fail to see why people can't just accept it...The art itself is suffering with a continuous degradation... Gen Z is quite pathetic for that yk...Dude, as someone that has seen the 90s, i can simply say the 80s was BETTER! Because it fucking was! It's not bc people dk how to do it anymore; or because of prints or all that bs people feed...Its the animation done digitally is CHEAPER! PIXAR killed an era, 3d animations killed the next one, and so on...Just accept, our current Generation is simply inferior, the handmade drawns are done, and gone...Talent lost, quantity won. Before anyone comes with :"but uh duh. Its not like that"... Let me tell you something, do you know how much animations alone took to be finished? 8 years...That's the basis for most Old movies. You know how much it takes nowadays? 6 months~one year... Those times are done tho. Thats it.
Let's not be a meat rider here. Yes most of the daima stuff looks better, but you can't just say people are being blinded by nostalgia when they prefer some things from z. For example, vegeta's final explosion looks better in dbz in my opinion. Dismissing opinions from both sides is stupid
Its like they knew Majin Vegeta was my favorite and said, lets give him what he loves so we can hook him on this show. Man, I need more Majin Vegeta! :O
Daima is more like OVA quality following successful series/films while Super is 100+ weekly episodic w/ inexperienced and 'out of shape' talent after years of little to no DB content. But yeah, I think the break between Super and the next stage of DB is probably a push to make the quality superior.

If you're a real Dragon Ball fan, not a fan of the anime adaptation, the DAIMA visuals are much better and it's not even close. They really respected the manga, the faces, proportions, and genius panels. There isn't the gritty look of the 90s that has a lot of charm, but realistically the most faithful and just better looking is DAIMA.
That’s the point to lower so many expectations and critics ! So many comparing who is stronger than who! And this anime is bringing it back to the roots - the real essence of the original dragon ball. It brings humor and emotion. It adds a fun storyline , you do get the action and the fights but it brings back like I mentioned a very entertaining organic essence .
All that production value and yet Z still looks better. They turned Vegeta's solemn but powerful moment with his hair 'streaming' upward (0:19) into a generic glossy power-up. Turned 0:21 from a look of stress and shock into mostly an 'aggressive face'. Turned the focus away from Vegeta and him fading out as he explodes, to the explosion itself. They occasionally really missed the point of some scenes.
Z got the finer details right. Daima overall is far better. best example i'd say is Vegeta's stance before his sacrifice, his left arm hanging limp. that scene looks pretty awful in Z.
@@jakubgrzybek6181 No idea, I don't read manga. But even if I did, why would I 'hate' anything? Besides, that probably has little to do with visual effects such as Vegeta's hair having a flowy or streaming feel to it. I much prefer the emotion behind the Z scenes.
@@NetherlandsFirst that's because you have been exposed to z and whatever emotion you felt before to z felt dull to daima, not too mention it's a flashback, not a whole remade episode, that's pretty much biased towards daima appreciate the old ones, they the one who create wonderful memory as a child but recognize good work when it is presented to you or you rather have the studio that make dbs making these scene
This is the best the studio had done in recreating the z style with current improvement in technology. They've the savagery and added to it with detail. What's more they actually outdid the Z by adapting the MANGA frame by frame. It even gives some of the Z movie vibes with the animation. If they were to reanimate all of Z accurately depicting the manga,it would do wonders and all the Z fans would pay any amount of money necessary to recapture their childhood in a heartbeat. Thank you,Naohiro Shintani. (Also makes sense that he was one to get it right since he was quite the Z fan in his childhood even watching th Z movies in theatres as a kid and wanting to become an animator cause of the early DBZ influence.)
I think that's the whole point of daima. It's meant to be like the og DB which wasn't all that serious but was a fun journey all together. But when it comes to a majority of dragon ball fans they only associate dragon ball with Z, GT, and Super and in majority cases they haven't watched the OG series which is very different in story telling compared to what people are used to.
To me, Daima is a genuine sequel to Toriyama's work. It just captures that charm Dragon Ball had that neither GT nor Super could. Maybe it is because Toriyama was involved heavily with this one. I'm actually excited to see where this story goes.

I hate the "popping colors"
Daima animation >>>> Z animation objectivly
Fr
Not objectively that's your own opinion.
@@danditheyesman848 na
It must be a huge surprise for you, considering there are 30 years difference between both series.
Thats it.
Wow 👏🏻
Diama style solos bro don’t let the nostalgia get you🙏🙏
It’s the new shiny thing for fans. I agree that Diama looks great, but DBZ still has the best art style and character designs.
Yeah compare 90s cars tech vs a 24
But enginewise 90s still outperforms newer car
@@AngelValentinRivera depends on the 90s car
Let's not be a meat rider here. Yes most of the daima stuff looks better, but you can't just say people are being blinded by nostalgia when they prefer some things from z. For example, vegeta's final explosion looks better in dbz in my opinion. Dismissing opinions from both sides is stupid
@@AngelValentinRivera no?
Bro imagine they re-animated all the episodes the will be fire!
Man, that‘s so much better compared to the crap animation we got in Super …
Super had plenty of good animation
Goodjob Kobota
Daima animation are better everyone that understand of animation know that but DBZ art are a Masterpiece.
The art in daima was also better. Better drawings with top notch shading.
If Super was animated like that, I may have watched it.
daima's is 1:1 replica of the manga
we need the remake of the entire anime🔥
daimas animation and quality is better
Its like they knew Majin Vegeta was my favorite and said, lets give him what he loves so we can hook him on this show.
Man, I need more Majin Vegeta! :O
Bruh! Why didn't the animation go hard like this for Super??? 😤🤦🏽♂
its almost always a case of animators being rushed
Daima is more like OVA quality following successful series/films while Super is 100+ weekly episodic w/ inexperienced and 'out of shape' talent after years of little to no DB content.
But yeah, I think the break between Super and the next stage of DB is probably a push to make the quality superior.
The anime was super rushed like Akira tried after toei just did there own thing with Akira script and he tried to give them his daima artstyle he been working on since the 90s and we first see the style in dragon ball online he made with the time patrollers early 2000s before xenoverse and heroes but toei declined it like the anime wasn’t supposed to come out so early they did everything for money like dragon ball z kai akira didn’t even know about it only about z because he was there for that

I think ever since Demon Slayer the anime companies realise how much incredible animation can lift a show.
Those Daima flashbacks is what i thought DBZ Kai was gonna look like back in the day.
Daima: let's remake the buu arc and make it look better
Also daima: were turning Goku into a kid again
Me: yeah I'm good on that!
Except he's not really a kid. He was just shrunk.
Subjective
@@Drums_of_Liberation No he got wished back to the age of a first grader along with every other adult DB character
@@tylerellis9097 you do know that both daima and super copied gt right?
@@abdulmuhammad-wc9do Yes but how is that relevant nor do I care that it did since GT fumbled i.
Daima with the new HDR 😅 so much shadow work and contrast, amazing
If you're a real Dragon Ball fan, not a fan of the anime adaptation, the DAIMA visuals are much better and it's not even close. They really respected the manga, the faces, proportions, and genius panels. There isn't the gritty look of the 90s that has a lot of charm, but realistically the most faithful and just better looking is DAIMA.
This video is SICK, how long did it take to find all the clips
a bit! eheh
@@DragonBallEpicI made a vid of all the Easter eggs and the part where I had to explain Kibito & Kaioshin unfusing took a minute😂
This is what I was hoping Dragon Ball Kai would’ve been
Lol I was kinda expecting something like that for z Kai as well but ay at least it got better lines and less fillers
Gohan looked sick asf in Daima
I love the way Daima looks way more
The intro song was peak!!
Sometimes DBZ looks superior sometimes DAIMA does
DBZ doesn’t look superior in any of these clips. People are straight up lying. 😂
Nostalgia is blinding you.
Agree.
@@busymike Majin Vegeta sacrifice looks miles better in Z tho, look at the character movement there
@@cris9242Daima isn’t even nostalgic yet
Daima looks really good and is phenomenally animated. Last episode fights were bonkers^^
Kai should have been Daima.
Lucky Toei. They screwed old fans but brainwashed a second generation of fans with 0 filler.
Daima overall is far better. best example i'd say is Vegeta's stance before his sacrifice, his left arm hanging limp. that scene looks pretty awful in Z.
you must hate the manga, because Daima is making sure to use panel illustrations as key frames.
@@jakubgrzybek6181 No idea, I don't read manga. But even if I did, why would I 'hate' anything? Besides, that probably has little to do with visual effects such as Vegeta's hair having a flowy or streaming feel to it. I much prefer the emotion behind the Z scenes.
Daima tiene animación más fluida en general, al menos recalca eso de daima, se más justo.
@@NetherlandsFirst that's because you have been exposed to z and whatever emotion you felt before to z felt dull to daima, not too mention it's a flashback, not a whole remade episode, that's pretty much biased towards daima
appreciate the old ones, they the one who create wonderful memory as a child but recognize good work when it is presented to you or you rather have the studio that make dbs making these scene
Daima fixed the stupid scene of goku "trying" to save people from majin vegeta
This is what you get when you give the team some TIME to do their work.
Daima is a fun story. Nothing else. Don't take it seriously and you will enjoy it.
How would you even know that with only one episode being out
Daima is a better sequel than Super
To me, Daima is a genuine sequel to Toriyama's work. It just captures that charm Dragon Ball had that neither GT nor Super could. Maybe it is because Toriyama was involved heavily with this one. I'm actually excited to see where this story goes.
I was literally just thinking while watching someone gush about these graphics, “They aren’t that great, c’mon guys...” then this video pops in my feed and changes my mind 😂
Daima stayed true to the original Manga panels of Toriyama sensei
ngl if this diama artstyle becomes the norm im down with this love the true to manga style
