In this video, we continue fabrication on Ed's 68 Dodge Charger R/T. Scott & Mark cut out the old locks & latches and fabricated new panels to house the new GM style latches. These modern latches are really smooth and soft shutting. It's a nice modern upgrade for an old muscle car. This Mopar will sit on a Roadster Shop "Fast Track" chassis and be powered by a Dick Landy 440ci V8. This car will be fitted with all the goodies. Lots more to come on this one, so stay tuned!

Great work....Why did you move the latch out on the door & in on the "B" piller?

It was for window clearance. The new latches are much bigger.

Won't be much original left to this car. My only complaint about the 68 is the tail lights just don't match the rest of the car IMHO. Will be interesting to see if you do anything to make them blend in with the rest of the car.

Is the addition for the door needed because of the size of the new latch, in order to keep the window from hitting it?
