We can't beat on Sean too much. He did provide a lot of entertainment for us guys. He obviously wasn't that horrible or we wouldn't be here now.
Craig was always just in the background before. Kinda like a problem child that should be seen and not heard. Just kidding. But now that he's running the show, it's now more mechanical minded. Which is perfectly fine by my standards. I'm also a mechanic, with very low standards. Let's give Craig that opportunity to shine. And let's not forget Sean and all that the man did for his community, and all his viewers. I'm not a religious man whatsoever, and usually when someone would start with their religion I would immediately turn it off. Sean was very tasteful with his religious beliefs. He didn't throw it in your face or make it the forefront of his videos. I will give him credit for that. He's too young for a midlife crisis. Plus most guys run out and buy a motorcycle. What's he gonna do ?

Here's a pro tip regarding badly designed work lights without magnets all the way from faraway Finland; in my own quite dimly lit garage I use a headlamp (the kind you strap on your forehead) while working on my 2 oldish Suzukis. I have one with variable zoom and different power levels. It frees up both hands, doesnt fall over and directly lights the thing you are looking at. And as it is almost eye level, no shadows.

One of my favorite videos. I like to watch this when I am feeling sad and lost faith in humanity. I too would like to share a story. Went out to purchase a motorcycle. 82 CB900F supersport. Super clean being an ohio bike. Negotiations happen. Make a deal, get it loaded. Well, the man signed the title before we got to a notary. I ended up taking the bike home with me. This man took the next day off to get a new title, drove 3 hours to me to personally deliver and got the title notarized with me. Dude kept his word. Just a reminder to trust your gut, you may miss out on a good deal otherwise. (Police vin inspection also came back clean, before anyone asks)

Wow, this took me back! Great job coaxing it back to life. I had a ‘76 iron barrel XL 1000 30 years ago which was the transition year so left shift using the brake lever as a gear shift and right brake. Disc front brake and (allegedly) 67 horse power, the same as a Honda CB 750. I had a CB 750 and I believed Honda….. It seemed to use a ton of oil (once I got it going). In fact it was decanting to the chain case which would account for the dragging clutch. The battery was massive but needed to be for the electric start. Rumour has it that it needed 30 miles for the dynamo to recharge the energy lost just firing it up. It was the worst quality bike I’ve ever owned (even a Czech CZ 125 was better). But it was a Harley and I loved it! Sadly its utter lack of reliability and practicality meant it had to go but a sad parting. Love the channel! Best, Ian

It's incredible because I'm a Penny boy out here in Idaho I get all these references and the locations just bring me back to my child hood too.

Craig is the coolest. What a great channel. I really enjoy the way you work on motorcycles, and your personality is top-notch. No cuss words needed, just good clean motorcycle fun.

Rather than starting fluid, I use a trigger spray with petrol in it.
Picked up a XL125V Varadero that had been laid up for a few years, bottom of tank was pin holed. fitted a temporary tank but wouldn't start. Removed the airbox and sprayed petrol into the carb intakes and it fired. Removed the carb, popped the fuel bowls off and everything was covered in a hard thick green gunk. The main and pilot jets were blocked. Didn't have the correct size just went a size up in each, replaced the tank and the bike has been fine since then.

The service manual for the 1982 XLS crankcase/clutch calls for H-D Sportster oil OR a quality 20W-50 if the H-D oil is not available. There is a screw at the forward bottom of the case. When it is removed, you fill the case until oil runs out of the hole, then it is filled. The oil tank should have a separate drain.

Great video and revival, Craig! Aint nuthin like the sound of a Shovelhead!!! I've had a few - FLHT, FLH, FXR - and they are just a blast to ride, the feel, vibration, and that sound - nothing else compares. The smile on pops face when you pulled up is worth a thousand words, priceless!!!!

I use old hospital IV hangers to hold my aux. fuel bottles in the shop but a cheaper/easier to find option is to find a steel shepherd hook plant hanger and weld a base to it.
