Review disclosure: I was provided a sample of this product for the purposes of examination and review. No review or particular rating was promised in return, and the opinions expressed here are my own following my first-hand experiences with this product.
SPP mode can be used in specialized applications that *know* that they are communicating with a barcode reader. So, for example if I'm using a point of sale machine, its designed to run with a barcode reader. Generally that will communicate via SPP. The advantage of this, is that 'real' keyboard input doesn't get confused with input from the barcode reader.
Handy information! The manufacturer never could give me a good explanation of its use as an average consumer (though them being German did mean there was a bit of a language barrier there). Thanks!
+ibycus314 As far as I know, Inateck doesn't provide any SDK/API whatsoever, they don't even mention it in the manual, so how can we 'exploit' this feature? Could you please point me in a right direction? Thanks :)

We have some of our barcodes within plastic transparent bags, can this barcode reader read through plastic transparent bags?
Can it read bar codes displayed on electronic devices like iPhone / iPad?
Just got mine yesterday and the instructions must be updated because it has the barcode to re-enable the 'enter suffix'. Do you have any idea what "Bluetooth input method" is for?
Also there must be some kind of bug in Office on the Windows 8.1 Lumia phones. I tried to make a few test scans into excel and it just kept entering the 'enter suffix' indefinitely until I turned off the scanner. It didn't do that with any of the other apps on the phone though, but Excel was what I was going to use when doing inventory on my phone.
I didn't have a problem at all with Office on the computer though (using Bluetooth as well).

which application do you use to read the scanned barcode number
Most of the time, I'm just inputting lists into Excel spreadsheets. In my video, I was using the "My Movies Pro" Android app.
