    Having the timelapse play in the background is very helpful. It is nice to see your face at the bottom, because it makes it more personal and helps keep my attention.

    If you ask me, thought process is the most important thing. There is plenty of "how to" video touching technical side but just a handful those focusing on design thinking. Thanks a lot Tyler!

    For me, this is better than any tutorial. Understanding how to manage and compose a piece is far more useful. There were a lot of cubes in the image, but that doesn't mean anyone who can paint cubes can make something like this.
    Fundamentals are vital. But this type of stuff I find more useful to increase appeal on a piece. Lots of people know their fundamentals but struggle greatly at creating appeal, I feel.

    Love the format Tyler! very insightful and not too long. I also really like the technical aspects on one end, and the thought process on the other end of the video, creates a nice balance

    I like the process, I would like to learn how do you use the camera to get a nice perspective angle or define the lens, I don't know too much about that. Also which render program are you using?

    • @TylerEdlin84
      @TylerEdlin84  5 років тому

      that was created all in c4d, i never covered cameras because feng zhu has many more videos on it already

    Appreciate you posting this. I've been trying to understand my own process so this helps a lot. One thing I'm just wondering, do you feel blender is sufficient for the blockout/kit bashing phase? I'm pretty sure it would be, but just curious if there's a unique reason why you chose cinema 4d? Thanks!

    Hey Tyler,
    How do you feel about using photos from the internet for your own work? I am currently using all my own photos and trying to ask friends for holiday pictures and stuff to make a great database. I can imagine for commercial work you want to work copyright free. Would love to hear your opinion!

    • @TylerEdlin84
      @TylerEdlin84  3 роки тому +1

      I end up altering the photos so much it won’t matter too much. But I prefer just to buy photo packs from photobash.org

    • @TylerEdlin84

      Cølin Cølin right now I use c4d cause it’s relatively easy to use, but I’m trying to switch over to blender, a bit more complicated but more flexible and free.

    • @TylerEdlin84
      @TylerEdlin84  3 роки тому +1

      Very different. Concept art is about design and problem solving. Matte painting is about making final illustrations to work as backgrounds in a.l production
