- Interesting scene from the end of The Last Crusade when Dr. Elsa Schneider tries to steal the grail from its sacred grounds. The place falls apart and she's left hanging onto Indiana above a hole in the earth. She faced with a choice: let him pull her up or try to reach for the grail below...
Apparently no Elsa in history can let it go~
Olivia McDonagh XD
Ahhh see, I understood that reference! And both of them are blondie aryans!
Oh my gosh 😂🤣
I love you for this comment
Oh no you did NOT
Elsa fell “Into The Unknown” because she couldn’t “Let It Go”.
Underrated.

@@nathancruz9172 Why you laught?? Is funny Elsa death??
Being "cold never [bothered]" Elsa anyway HAHA!!!
She was a nazi
Interesting, how Indiana's dad says to him later, "Let it go".
Wow, that's quite ironic. Impressive observation, haha.
And that's how the whole Frozen story began, Elsa, and Indy's father saying that line. LOL
Why cuz her name is elsa ? Lol
@@jamisonmartinez1604 It was cause Indiana Jones was about to fall for the same reason as Elsa.
I wonder if the reason Frozen's Elsa looks the way she does and is named Elsa and sings ''Let It Go'' is all cause of this.
*WHAT A COINCIDENCE*
Ah, Elsa. As a kid this part surprised and saddened me. As an adult, I understand why the screenwriters and Spielberg did it this way, but at the time, my child mind was blown.
Why tho? I don't get it.
@@yamaslushy9461 it was because she's hot.
@@AbrahamLincoln4 Hot = Bound to die then? Well i know what i'm going by while writing *my* story now!
@@yamaslushy9461 Originally she wast the one supposed to die from drinking the wrong grail
Abraham Lincoln you know I agree that's a good reason. Everyone as young as they can be looks at her and thinks she is so pretty. From a young single digit mind the last thing you would want is for that pretty person to die but when you look closely you realize it was her own doing. Though even in my 20s Im still sad that she didn't choose wisely.
This scene makes me cry when Henry Jones tells Indiana Jones to let it go. It’s such a touching scene.
Brings a whole new meaning to the Disney song.
Indeed.
Interesting that you can see the Grail Knight in the background at 0:06. There might have been a deleted scene here where he again warns Elsa not to leave the temple with the Grail.
Wow, I have seen this movie maybe 10 times and have never noticed that.
In the novelization, the Grail Knight accompanies them back to the main room of the temple, and only then does he reveal the boundaries of which the grail can be taken, and it's clearly directed specifically at Elsa.
Considering how the novelizations for the past two films restored deleted scenes from them, this is a possibility.
I love Elsa's black leather gloves 🖤🖤🖤
Why
Fetish!
Fetish!
This woman is such a tragedy! I felt like she had elements of both Marion and Willie Scott. If only she wouldn’t have given into greed, she could have been with Indy. She sealed her own fate. So sad and depressing and wondering just how far she fell down in that chasm. The stuff of nightmares.
I doubt Indy would have still been with her after this. He's simply a good man that didn't want someone to die that he felt affection for at one point.
@@alicegraham1571well either way her death proves that greed usually leads to your downfall or death.
Na the only good lady for Indy is Marion ravenwood
I guess you could say she chose poorly
Steve Murray you stole that joke from the title
Hardly, the title doesn't say 'Elsa chooses poorly' does it
Most definitely. It's as Indiana Jones's father notes, "Elsa never really believed in the Grail."
You read my mind. I want comment that words.
Off to the afterlife she goes
As Elsa fell to her seeming death...she wakes up later in Arendelle
And somehow gained an ability to sing.

I like to think that, in a way, that symbolises the harsh reality that there are some things man is simply not meant to know in this life. Immortality, represented by the Grail, is one such thing. Pursuit of it only leads to disaster and misery.
I've never noticed that she's an idiot if only she actually cought it and not pushed it

I never noticed this as a kid being only a wee lad of seven years old, but being thirty five now, elsa could have just placed her foot on the ledge and it would have supported her weight allowing her to grab the grail and easily being pulled up
Good point never thought of that
Yeah, I was thinking that but at 7 years old lol. Forgot after all this time, but grabbing the grail wasn’t that hard.
She got what she deserved after boinking both father and son.

I think you felt bad because even though she was "greedy" she wanted to share it with Indy. And if it wasn't for her, Donovan may have gotten the grail and then the Nazis would have gotten it and the world would have ended. So you know, she kinda saved the world
@@davidganderson870 That and, her "greed" comes across as more like a kind of mental illness, likely monomania (obsession with a certain thing (i.e the Grail) to the point that it's downright harmful) since she would ultimately rather die than give it up.
Because you attracted to her.
Men will simp hard for these types of women.
I admit I’m actually glad that they brought Marion back in next film for she had more genuine care for Indiana than some cursed evil treasure.
And then at the end of indiana jones 5
I hate what the writers did to Elsa. She is the most beautiful girl who didn’t deserve that. Probably she’s the way she is because people took advantage of her at a young age. I can clearly see the writers making the character’s seem like she was reaching for the cup but having the actress make it seem she’s trying to reach for it. I want to believe that she made it out of there alive. I still do. And the way the film ended where they ride off but I’m like they can still go back and save her. This was disappointing. Elsa is not a bad person.

Probably
It's not the fall that gets you, it's the sudden stop at the end. The most detailed data on the effects of large accelerations (or equivalently, decelerations) on the human body comes from research into spaceflight and aircraft ejection systems. There is a very detailed paper from NASA here, from which figure 5 (p. 36) is most useful.
It depends a lot on where and which way up you land - feet-first onto a soft surface is best (pretty obvious)
For a hard surface, assuming you don't land on your head, up to about 12m/s impact velocity, you are almost certain to survive (corresponding to a fall from a height of just over 7m). Though "survive" is likely to involve life-changing injuries at the top of this range
Between 12 and 17m/s you may or may not survive (corresponding to about 7m - 12m)
Over 17m/s you are almost certain not to survive (corresponding to over 12m)

Elsa Schneider possibly didn’t die. I mean, she probably got trapped out there, or grabbed in the rocks, we actually didn’t hear nothing that can prove her death, not even a hit, only her scream. So this can assume: She probably didn’t die cuz there could be a lake, or survived by grabbing in the rocks, because in reality the cracks never got closed, so it is escape-able.
