Using all the different variations of Slappy’s origins, I’ve attempted to combine them all into one singular timeline (haven’t included the first four Living Dummy books as what year those take place seem to have changed to be 2008-2015 era, I only included “Slappy’s Nightmare” because that book introduces another brother of Slappy; I’ll probably due a separate timeline on Slappy during and in-between books). Slappy Origin Timeline: * 1822 - Ephraim Darkwell was a sorcerer who enjoyed bringing his ventriloquist dummies to life. He vowed never to use his powers for evil. He would stick to this vow until one day the people of the village discovered Darkwell’s powers and became afraid of him. After his nephew Isaac was attacked, Darkwell vowed revenge. He would use cursed wood from a coffin to create and bring to life two dummies, the negative emotions of his soul created dark souls for the dummies, the first was Slappy, and with his help he froze all the villagers in place. Proud of his evil creation he would bring his second dummy, Slappy’s twin, Snappy to life. * 1910s - Ephraim Darkwell would eventually meet a young magician named Kanduu. Darkwell would take Kanduu as an apprentice teaching him how to bring ventriloquist dummies to life. - At some point Darkwell would meet a ventriloquist named Franz Mahar and help him create a ventriloquist dummy named Mr. Wood, also made using the cursed wood from the coffin. - Darkwell would introduce Mahar to Kanduu and the two would begin working together. * 1920 - Franz Mahar and Kanduu would work together for sometime until one day when he was about to perform on stage with Mr. Wood the dummy jumped up and punched him in the chin. Realizing Kanduu had brought Mr. Wood to life and was using his magic for evil, Mahar left Mr. Wood in the case and fled the country to escape from him. - Some time after that Franz Mahar would run into Ephraim Darkwell who would give him Slappy and Snappy before vanishing. - Mahar would live a life of his own creating dummies. - At some point for whatever reason he decides to bring Slappy and Snappy to life and start causing trouble on the farm. - A group of townsfolk would take the dummy they believe to be causing the trouble and burn it. Mahar then goes to his back room and talks to his “real” dummies, Slappy and Snappy. Then, they all laugh at the townsfolk who thought the doll they burned was really causing all the trouble on the farm. * Early 1920s - Having given away Slappy and Snappy, Darkwell decides to create a new ventriloquist dummy, this one a female named Goldie, also made from cursed wood of the same coffin as Slappy, Snappy, and Mr. Wood. Taking a liking to his latest creation the two would live in Coldman House where Darkwell would tell her about Slappy and Snappy and tell her she was created side-by-side with them. Ephraim Darkwell would teach Goldie a lot more about magic than any of his dummies before her, making her more powerful than them. * Sometime in the late 90s - After spending some years in modern society, Darkwell’s anger at humanity would subside. - Meeting Jimmy O’James and seeing him being terrorized by his creation, Slappy; Darkwell takes pity on him and decides to create a new dummy that looks exactly like Slappy, but this one when brought to life would put Slappy to sleep. He would name this dummy Wally. - In “Slappy’s Nightmare”, Darkwell would send Wally to Jimmy O’James with a note and a list of instructions.
Try damaging the head like impaling his forehead or splitting his head in two. That seems to put him back to sleep without unleashing his soul. Reading the words that brought him back to life backwards, just make sure he’s not covering his ears. Reading the magic words that bring Wally to life as seen in “Slappy’s Nightmare”.
You know, I seriously wonder if Slappy would be vulnerable to religious attacks--prayers, holy water, that kind of thing. Since evil supernatural power is an obvious reality in the Goosebumps universe, it stands to reason that holy supernatural power would also likely exist. Nobody in Goosebumps canon ever tried that, though, so we can only speculate.
And also he could dragged little kids or grown ups in the ground like a car in the bride of the living dummy book and maybe make manual scripts metal so he won’t burn it
The only way to destroy Slappy is open a can of Monster Blood abd then run. He was deafeated that way in Escape from Carnival of Horrores. But that was the original Slappy, not the rebooth Slappy.
I would keeping but I will not say the magic word I have a ventriloquist dummy he is the little Jeff ventriloquist dummy I do ventriloquism oh and I am just an eleven-year-old boy but my Nana has his little prank walk on it so it was just her L on it
