There's no excuses for AEW. Their booking is going downhill fast. Dropping venue size is not the solution to a problem, its a consequence of the problem.
No. The problem is AEWs BOOKING! Why does this channel have such a hard time accepting that a huge reason the crowds stopped showing up and people stopped tuning in is because the booking is bad. PPV events do fine because you know you're going to get long matches.
I wouldn't be surprised if Raw became advertised as "anywhere between 2.5 and 3 hours long." An uneventful Raw without anything notable around the corner (holiday, PLE, seasonal promotion) would be closer to 2.5 hours and the special events would have "additional enticing content" to draw more live tickets for the bigger venues they book. Create scarcity in order to raise value, then, when you raise value across the board, it's less criticized.
The problem with downsizing from a larger venue is that most of the time the larger venue is still going to get their "house nut" for the day out of you whether you run the venue or not. Im also a large concert promoter in Texas, I love wrestling, and I gotta say, yall should look into All In Sales because the venue owners there are kind of assuming there will be a venue change, as theyve only sold about 50%, which would probably make this show a net loss with the cost of running Ranger Stadium

There's two major , national pro wrestling/sports entertainment companies on American television. One draws exceptionally...The other draws about how the regional promotions draw. Hmmm
AEW has so many problems I don’t think it’ll ever rebound with Tony in charge. The storylines and booking have always been bad. The wrestling is bad, blatantly fake choreographed garbage or just sloppy and botchy. Nobody feels special cause they suck at building and/or promoting STARS. They get stars from other companies and quickly drive all the star power out of them so that they’re just another guy on the roster.
Just saying they could've down sized earlier because their is wwe, tna, and gcw that you could trade a company and no it can be booked 5 to 6 month but like I said when you book a place make it where you can trade off with someone for a smaller arena aew has to be sold from Tony Khan and rebrand the company so it could be refreshed with rampage hitting its end proves it because Tony Khan realizing it's dieing and he's trying to slow it down Tony Khan also needs to stop Jericho, Omega, and the Bucks stupid idea's and Tony needs to get about 5 or 6 people that knows how to tell a story and knows the business and give them the reigns Tony Khan job is who comes in and leaves, sign paychecks, and booking and get someone over fianaces and if they still have big show put him on commentary instead of Excalibur and put Excalibur as a manager for someone
Honestly the only fanbase that still cares about AEW is the UK fans, cause once the US fans realize that it’s the same s**ty product just in smaller buildings AEW will be back to half filled buildings, and top of that if nothing else UK wrestling fans are good at holding a grudge, and they blame the WWE for gutting the British Independent scene when they created NXT UK, and not keeping the supposed promise about doing talent sharing where wrestlers who signed to NXT UK could still work all the independent shows they had worked before signing with NXT UK. So if AEW wants to be truly successful AEW should move there entire business to the UK and hold one PPV a year in the United States, and there far more likely to be successful but wait there never going to do that cause most of there talent is based United States, so the logistics of taping three shows a week in the UK is probably a real headache to pull off.
AEW should just stay in their limits like TNA or they will be gone sooner than later. WWE and TNA atleast have dedicated management team to TK AEW is just another fun hobby like EPL and NFL. Wait till the Ambanis announce their wrestling show to compete against Shad khan (because shad ran his mouth a little too much at an event). That will finish AEW forever. Ambanis have already announced Connor Mcgregor vs Logan Paul boxing fight to test their capabilities in the sport entertainment industry and well they have their own networks, own streaming service (They are partners with Disney+) and they have a ton more money than shad has ever seen. TK better hand over the company to the old TNA guys and start running the show from a fixed venue till it gets enough steam to move around, like TNA did.
WWE was in the toilet from 93-96. Moving from Wembley in 92 to the Manhattan Centre was a sign of how bad things were, not a positive step. You guys should audition as North Korean news readers.
They're not saying moving to smaller is a positive step in AEWs success. They're saying it's a positive step in that they will no longer be blowing money renting arenas they can't fill. Smaller venues will at least minimise AEWs outgoings and the shows atmosphere should improve if the smaller Collisions of late are anything to go by.
I'm not tribal at all, but AEW has something about it that just seems... off. The ring work is intense, great. But there's just something making me... simply not care
@thribs the stories seem to happen in their own little world and don't contribute to any greater story. They dont build two giant forces to collide at a big event. There is that, but I also think the ring work is better from a physical standpoint, but from an in-ring story standpoint.. they also don't have competent producers. THEN there's the atmosphere. There's alot of "empty" audio and something I noticed watching the MJF rampage promo... literally space. The space around the ring is too big & disconnects the crowd, the ramp is too wide & does the same. You need alot of movement on screen to make it electric. The big open spaces for the wrestlers are.. hurting it

After talking with die hard aew fans in this comment section, I've come to a conclusion that what culture (these two geeks) have become Dave and Bryan blowing smoke up aew 🍑 to the iwc masses.
God if it wasn’t for Simon Miller I won’t touch this channel ever again, at least Sedgwick doesn’t hide his obvious bias towards AEW but everybody else here other than Simon is still watching AEW in their honeymoon phases. “I think them having a bad show works to their benefit” but if that was WWE it’s just a bad show
Smaller venues doesnt help the BOOKING!! TK IS CLUELESS
God how much is what culture in the pocket of AEW....
and you’re in their pocket 😂
Honestly never expected an opening Stout reference on my wrestling news show to close out 2024 lol made my day.
aew rampage is cancelled that show never got good ratings anyways good riddens
He may have the job but, seriously, Tony's NO booker
For a few years now i've been saying that Rampage needs to go and add a 3rd hour to Dynamite. I hope that's coming soon.
Should consider jobs as politicians trying to put a positive spin on everything AEW.
WTF does the thumbnail on WWE have to do with the Raw story?
Are you all saving the music and graphics for 2025? 😂
Honestly, I'm glad it's a concussion and not something guaranteed to have him out for another 6 months to a year. Hope he gets well soon. Speedy recovery Bandito!
Here hoping Andy Murray finds a new job in 2025. He’s single-handedly made WC into an unwatchable pile of garbage
Murray gets more insufferable every day
i love him
LOL The wrestles are scamming Tony khan🤣🤣
AEW continues to wither on the vine. When will Daddy pull this plug?
could sometimes never find out when rampage was on because they keep switching up the days and the channel it was on. it got to the point where i couldn't care anymore and just watch the highlights. moving the timeslot around isn't cool. it has to be consistent otherwise not worth my time.
aew is also weird with all the injuries. they were promoting bandido all these weeks and he just re-debuted. and he looked kinda like luchasaurus to add to the confusion.
then he fought jericho who changed his gimmick again to king of new york.
lots of odd questions this leaves for aew as a whole.
Before i start respecting certain members of this show as reporters i need to ask the more dedicated fan base - did they ever apologize for the reporting of CM Punk after the truth came out? Did they at least correct the reporting? Cuz if not I'm going back to other channels. Anybody know?
Gotta love when Murray makes extra gutteral noises.
It sometimes sounds like an episode of Rick and Morty…
My very first live wrestling show was ECW at the Hammerstein Ballroom 26 August 2000. It's an amazing venue. AEW need to run the college buildings they were doing before.
Right size, the venues.
Are they turning people away, I hope not, or not too many.
If you can get 5001 people you want a 5001 seat venue, but get as close as possible.
Andy murray needs to go away hes trash
Long term isn’t it not worrying that they can only do smaller arenas? Surely they want to grow?
Why no one is talking about how SmackDown got the lowest rating of all time in November 2024 and raw got the lowest rating ever too in December 2024 WWE fanbase is soooooo toxic hypocrite pos everywhere I go there is just unjustified hate for aew even though WWE HHH era is complete shit ratings are shit but no one will obviously talk about that but when it comes to aew rating everyone is arms ready
Andy is just the worse. He’s such a shill.
Yeah, lets get rid of anyone that has a difference of opinion to us. Lets turn whatculture into a pro WWE echo chamber, that's to only way to be unbiased!
@@Dejumatyeah except nobody said that
@@retronerds6884 True, but it's been heavily implied
@@Dejumat That definitely seems to be what these trolls and 'E' muppets want judging by the comments on every WC video they put out. They're so obsessed with Andy, it's really weird 🤨
@@afp445 implying is not the same as saying people are tired of Andy and clear aew bias
Michael and Andy sound so pathetic! Making excuses as to why AEW is moving to smaller venues. Who do they think they're foolin'? They can give us all the excuses they want. But you can't force people to watch AEW
don’t gotta force me :)
you're right, you can't force anyone to watch. They were literally talking about how the bad perception of AEW is there biggest problem. You've literally just made their point for them
There's two major , national pro wrestling/sports entertainment companies on American television. One draws exceptionally...The other draws about how the regional promotions draw. Hmmm
I was considering going to the Brisbane show but I'm worried about the event being cancelled and losing my money.
bandido barely came back and he got injured already not good
Hometown mentioned 30 seconds in. Lets go.
Aew is worst then wcw in the 2000s
AEW has so many problems I don’t think it’ll ever rebound with Tony in charge. The storylines and booking have always been bad. The wrestling is bad, blatantly fake choreographed garbage or just sloppy and botchy. Nobody feels special cause they suck at building and/or promoting STARS. They get stars from other companies and quickly drive all the star power out of them so that they’re just another guy on the roster.
analysis shows this person doesn’t watch aew
@@daxxleonard2961 actually he is spot on
Aew is dieing!! 😂😂😂
Cry harder
Strangly STOUT play sundaynight
SMALLLLLLLLL TIMEEEEE😂😂😂😂😂
aew is downsizing venues is aew finally doing something right
no commercial 2 hrs is comprable to 3 w/
Isn’t that A Perfect Circle?
Aew is dying😂so sad
Actually just bought Dying Fetus/Cradle of Filth tickets for the fam for christmas.
Yeah Steve Apple got all the Jobs
I've never seen the Hammerstein so empty

AEW “right-sizing”
AEW dying boys the days of 10K attendance is over
Lol y'all been waiting. You do realize WWE not being good is why they got a foothold in the first place. Blame your favorite company 😮💨
Love the dying fetus shout out. Amazing band.
AEW is niche product
Honestly the only fanbase that still cares about AEW is the UK fans, cause once the US fans realize that it’s the same s**ty product just in smaller buildings AEW will be back to half filled buildings, and top of that if nothing else UK wrestling fans are good at holding a grudge, and they blame the WWE for gutting the British Independent scene when they created NXT UK, and not keeping the supposed promise about doing talent sharing where wrestlers who signed to NXT UK could still work all the independent shows they had worked before signing with NXT UK. So if AEW wants to be truly successful AEW should move there entire business to the UK and hold one PPV a year in the United States, and there far more likely to be successful but wait there never going to do that cause most of there talent is based United States, so the logistics of taping three shows a week in the UK is probably a real headache to pull off.
that’s a hell of a story for someone who doesn’t watch
these guys are aew freaks. shuuuudddduuuuuup
Hell nah
No video link came up at the end;
🤣🤣
Looked even more stupid than usual...
Good job Andy and Micheal H 👍👋
WWE was in the toilet from 93-96. Moving from Wembley in 92 to the Manhattan Centre was a sign of how bad things were, not a positive step. You guys should audition as North Korean news readers.
They're not saying moving to smaller is a positive step in AEWs success. They're saying it's a positive step in that they will no longer be blowing money renting arenas they can't fill.
Smaller venues will at least minimise AEWs outgoings and the shows atmosphere should improve if the smaller Collisions of late are anything to go by.
AEW should've been downsized
I'm not tribal at all, but AEW has something about it that just seems... off. The ring work is intense, great. But there's just something making me... simply not care
You shouldn't feel like you have to put your not tribal.
It’s the stories. They’ve seen to have forgotten that aspect
The big open spaces for the wrestlers are.. hurting it
I think youre complimenting their intended business model is problem
Back to the Bingo Halls! Woo-hoo!
RIP, AEW. (I know, they have contracts that will keep them going. And the "true freaks" will stick with them. But farewell to their dreams of challenging WWE.)
who cares?
@@daxxleonard2961 they have always been promoted as an alternative. Why does everyone think they have to be WWE ? Like come on it's like oh no there's something else we must hate it
@@spiveyg89 Because (to quote Willie Sutton) that's where the money is. And money brings talent and advertising.
If Tony wants to run a promotion with unknown talent below the public consciousness in small venues, good for him. There's a place for minor-league promotions. (Not certain why it should rate such attention from the apologists on What Culture, but I suppose that's a different issue.
@@Jessica_Roth yeah. I'm not really stressing about the venues I'm just happy that we have option. Not only that it's only been around five years against the machine like WWE been around for decades. Doesn't mean they're perfect
This is early.
