that end where kratos finally makes dad Jokes and tells his son to drink and then competes by drinking all of it xD. oh this is the best edit: and.. that moment ends when kratos lied to his son a bit.. oh boy.
Greek gods deserved it. They toyed with mortals for mere amusement. Whenever they have a disagreement, they use mortals to see who wins and calls them “champions of the gods”. They deserved each and every bit of stab they got from Kratos.
what? do you mean impregnated? awe? it was the witch who put the ashes of his dead wife and kid to his skin so it would remind him of his terrible past.
Kratos isn't famous for humility, like father like son I guess. Also Kratos killed a shit ton of innocent people but he forgot to mention that to the kid.
The concept is so fascinating. They just established that not only do Greek and Norse gods exist, but even Egyptian gods. So what determines how the world functions? Like when Kratos killed Helios back in GOW3 he screwed up the rotation of the sun but I don't think Northern Europe where the Norse gods live was effected. And in Egyptian mythology, Ra is literally the fucking sun but I doubt he was effected by Helios' death so are these countries different aspects or dimensions but on the same planet?
As explained by Freya: Different Realms, occupying the same physical space, but layered on top of one another. In the realm of the Olympians, everything has gone to shit but maybe the other ones didn't even notice it.
I would think much bigger then that. In the sense the big bang resulted in the creation of several separate pocket dimension's / universes were each primordial being at the heart of each Pantheon's creation was able to make its own unique Universe separate from the others but still contained in the same overall universe created by the big bang. That would allow a being such as Kratos Tyr to visit each universe threw special travel like what is depicted with tyr as it was clear he traveled by unknown methods beyond the world tree methods for the 9 Norse realms. Think multiverses and the massive can of worms that entails😲! That's what i gathered from the little tidbits threw out all the games anyway lol.
I think it’s less interesting to think of it in a practical real-world spatial way than in terms of cosmology. Kratos may have destroyed Greece, but the greek pantheon was never critical to the cosmological structure of these lands in the way it was for Greece. It’s not that it didn’t happen, or that it didn’t have effects on the world, just that we’re talking about separate though overlapping systems of mythic understanding. Interestingly, unless I’m mistaken, the dead rising in Midgard is never really given a proper explanation, EXCEPT if you remember that Kratos has killed at least two gods of death. It seems like, and I admit this is complete speculation, that the barriers between life and death are still weakened, even though in this part of the world, there are other gods that can maintain the balance of nature in other ways. For instance, even the death of Zeus only had limited effect on the nine realms, because there is an equally powerful god of thunder that still resides there. Gods’ powers are tied to their worshippers. Where the Aesir are worshipped, they have command over their respective domains. In other parts of the world where worship of the norse pantheon is less powerful, their powers might fall under the domain of other gods, and if those gods are slain, everything falls out of balance. But where their influence is strongest, those elements are still tied to the gods that most powerfully represent them. Separate but overlapping cosmologies. I can’t definitely prove that to be the correct interpretation in a way that is explicitly supported by the text, but it’s an interpretation I find more thematically interesting than different dimensions or timelines.
I love how the dynamic has changed between them since he let Atreus know the truth. It's like a weight was lifted off of Kratos's shoulders so now he can be more open with him.
It's really cool to think Tyr has visited all different forms of lands under different Pantheons of gods. But he would had to have died somewhat(relatively speaking) recently to have a Greek vase detailing Kratos' slaughter
yeah i figured, cool little nod tho 😉 mah boi was famous even in norway during his hay days! (tyr found the vase important enough to keep, plus kratos also being a god of war and in his mind "going bad" - tyr must have felt a bit of pity for him) would be a great convo if they met haha
Kratos May have been tough on Atreus but he genuinely does love his children. He adored Calliope and made her the flute she had with her even when she was in the Afterlife and for Atreus he made the knife. I wish the game had referenced her and had him tell Atreus about Calliope.

Okay so now that I've seen the whole episode I wanna come back to this: What I like about God of War 4 is how Kratos is so damnably human (kinda ironic given how he isn't human but also hates himself for being a God but I digress.) He's at once so physically powerful, but still extremely fragile. Not only because he's aging but because of how deeply this experiences have effected him and how much he's lost along the way (and found) along the way. Kratos lost his family, his home, his country and everything important to him, but now he's got a new family and it's clear how much he cares for Atreus. Atreus is this weird mix of the past and present. He's at once his own person, but he's named after Kratos' old friend. He's flush and reckless with his power and newfound status as a god, which I think reminds Kratos of himself in his youth, but Kratos wants him to be better than he himself ever could be, or had a chance to be. Kratos wants to give him every opportunity he never had, while preparing him for what he knows is a really cruel and violent world. Kratos got lost in that, but he wants his son to rise above it and be something more, something more like Tyr than Odin who the game constantly juxtaposes. Fuck the writing for this is incredible. Santa Monica studio, you really knocked it out of the park on this one. Easily Game of the Year. This is 2018's Witcher 3.
When the blades were covered, you can’t see any chains attached. There might be some mechanism at the pommel or handle in which the end of the chains can be quickly attached and detached. Also, you question that but not the boomerang frost axe? If that’s possible, I don’t see why the one with the blades isn’t.
idiosyncrasy well that's new and obviously similar to thors hammer but this been going on in every game i wanted to know if it's an explanation for that
i kinda follow you when i get stucked in game until i noticed you miss a lot of chests. for example,at the black rune place, theres puzzle chest you missing and a chest at the end you didnt go to.

The player must be on aspirin cause he seems confused wasting time on an easy task!
Best father award of 2018 goes to....
You killing trolls like a pro now dope shit😎
Game of the year. Father of the year.
22:00 wow Kratos has a sense of humor
Kratos and atreus doing that Aaah...never saw that coming in a gow game :)
Someone please explain how the blades of chaos are chained to him but he can put them on his back
David Rice video game logic, it’s better not to question it
There is holes in the hills of the blades. Maybe he quickly hooks the chain into the hilts, then Quickly unhooks them?
Maaaaaagiiiiiiic.
When the blades were covered, you can’t see any chains attached. There might be some mechanism at the pommel or handle in which the end of the chains can be quickly attached and detached. Also, you question that but not the boomerang frost axe? If that’s possible, I don’t see why the one with the blades isn’t.
idiosyncrasy well that's new and obviously similar to thors hammer but this been going on in every game i wanted to know if it's an explanation for that
Next stop for Kratos and Atreus? Egypt.
next up or next stop
The soundtrack of this game is amazing.
Fire and ice giants? That's crazy
Here i was thinking there was an achievement for killing the frogs. 😂
You totally forgot to light these Tyr's brasiers in the beginning of the video
His past keeps showing up, got me tearing up a little 😢
This man genuinely chuckled.
24:42 Ahh....That may hurt a bit....Seeing his past on a pot....Yeah let's not have Atreus look at that.
Kratos-god of sarcasm in this realm apparently
The last battle reminds me of agni and ruda
