  • St. Vrain State Park is located along Interstate 25 near Longmont, Colorado. The State Park has eight campgrounds with 87 total campsites. The eight campgrounds are dispersed amongst nine ponds which offer fishing and restricted boating. The State Park is 33 miles north downtown Denver and therefore is a good stopping point for campers travelling along OI-25.
In this video, you will see a drive-through view of the campsites in each campground. This channel supports the website, Colorado Campgrounds--What you need to know www.coloradocampgrounds.us.com
At the website you will find pictures of each campsite at St. Vrain along with campsite details such as views, hookups, grade, distances to the toilet, water, and dumpster. The website also provides information about camping in Colorado, e.g., laws that affect campers (gun, fireworks, marijuana), altitude sickness, must see Colorado sites, website and book resources, how to make reservations, etc.

Thanks, I am packing to leave tomorrow for our first camping trip of the season. I will be shooting videos and gathering data for three more of our State Parks: John Martin Reservoir, Trinidad Lake, and Chatfield.

      Hi Naomi,
I only stayed at St Vrain for one night and did not use the Camper Services building so I cannot comment with first hand experience. From what I saw, the camper services building was clean. Here is St Vrain’s description: “All the campsites throughout the park include a grill, picnic table, and concrete pad. Most sites also include a shade shelter over the picnic table. All electrical hookups include 50-amp, 30-amp, and 110-volt options. The flush restrooms and coin-operated showers in Barbour Ponds Camper Services Building are available for all campers to use. Campgrounds are open year-round, but some water hydrants may be shut off to prevent freezing in winter.”
