Werner has gradually been improving with every performance. Let’s be fair he’s not a goal scorer, but if you don’t expect goals from him he is a Spurs best midfielder.
Werner takes a split-second longer than his team-mates to decide what to do with the ball when he receives it. A few more training sessions and a few more matches, and surely he will look even better. He is playing well already.

he was actually electric last night and looks very technical..
The guy played x8 for his parent club this season... and in 3 games has already started to show the quality and experience that he has. Only going to get better imo, as the season progresses. However, Im not expecting him to bang in 10+ goals like many of the fanbase seem to think.

It was a seriously heart-attack inducing game for us Spurs fans. And, yeah, teams have figured out they can get away with everything short of murder against us. Refs have been calling our games like that since they screwed up that Liverpool call.
They've been doing it far longer than that
They sprinkle in a terrible call like the Liverpool one every blue moon and make a huge deal out of it in the media so that people are more likely to ignore what they do the rest of the season

They did play a back 3 when Dragusin came on for Maddison.

@@DrowningForwardI thought it was a 3-4-3 with Porro and Udogie playing as wingbacks rather than fullbacks. I might be wrong though. Still makes sense plus it allows us to give Dragusin more game time which is always good
Looks like it’s a back 5 when the other team has the ball and a back 3 in possession. Same thing we did against City at the end. We just didn’t have much possession in the last few minutes of this game.
Thank god someone else mentions the officiating. Life is difficult when the refs scrutinize everything Romero does, but ignore an elbow from our opponents

Ange did bring Dragusin on for the last 10 minutes...good to acclimatise him to the home supporters...last season Spurs were 17th in the most fouled table....up to this point this season we are 1st ( is there a trophy for this 😱)...a crazy-weird compliment to the football we are playing.....i have fallen in love with Ange-ball....i have fallen back in love again with THFC

As to not playing into the corners to save the game, Ange just doesn’t do it. His view is, the best way to save a game is to score another goal. Shut up shop and absorb the pressure, or put the pressure back on the team chasing a draw. It’s not naivety, it works as often as not, or at least, nearly always with Ange teams. Teams get to know they can throw everything at grabbing a late goal, but stuff up, and Spurs will make it two goals ahead, not just one. Both teams feel the pressure. Ange wants his players to thrive on pressure, it’s fun. It works at least as often as parking buses to hold on to a lead. A winning mentality makes the opposition have doubts. Ange teams, when fully functioning, don’t die wondering. Opposition teams learn, if you chase a draw, you risk losing by two - or three. ✅

Norgaard's clear foul on Johnson highlighted the referees complacency and Norgaard's clear tactical intent in committing the foul. The Ref will yellow a player that kicks the ball away from a penalty whilst play is stopped, yet, the Ref allows these tactical fouls intended to slow the game and possibly injure players, to go unchecked.

Ref was atrocious. He was 12th player for Brentford. One example was how Johnson was taken out right front of the ref and yet he did not call.
The head on to this challenge is awful, can't believe he didn't pick up a 2nd yellow
Definitely Richarlison as man of the match, he worked his ass off, I think his getting better per game going forward, Timo made us proud, fantastic on the ball, I think Maddison struggled a bit seemed distracted even though he did some good dribbles but overall still a proud #SpursSupporter.

He has consistently subbed on an extra CB for an attacking player in the final minutes of games. He isn't really the caricature people portray

Richarlison has improved dramatically since his surgery, Werner has been impressive considering he's hardly played a game this season and Sarr is definitely grossly underrated. Dragusin did come on and they did go with a back 3 but a think Cuti and VDV are consistently the best CB pairing in the league.

How Brentford finished with 11 players? That's how it's been all season no matter who we meet. Every game the opposition goes in deliberately to injure our players. And get away with it. That's why we have a premier league record number of injuries this season. The refs.

*ONE THING* I don't like with Spurs this season is how players have gone off the boil or had brain fades out of the blue. Bissouma was a world-beater for the first 7-8 games and then pulled some stupid stuff. This game Udogi was the same. Romero was Romero for his red card. Consistency will always trump flashes of brilliance in the long term. We need the team to find some cohesion again and all play well together - like they did at the start of the season.
If you watch back the Udogie howler, Mikey points back at Vicario. He also hadn't seen Toney, so bit of shared responsibility I think.

Great content! However @3:00 that was never the case. In fact, quite the opposite. Richardson, last season was dealing with issues at home along with a nigling injury. He has sorted out both those issues and has now quietly turning into a Ruud VanNistelrooy
Anyway, love your analysis, carry on.
Romero did have a decent game, but he should have been a lot more aware of Maupay for the first goal. If he was, then it was easy to deal with.

Richarlison has found some confidence rhat he was clearly lacking, he's work rate is amazing and there potentially could be a lot more improvement to come. Van Der Ven will become a 100million pound defender his speed is unbelievable along with his excellent all round game.

As a Spurs fan, I think what the wonderful Alice was alluding to was Count Dragula getting more than a few [10] minutes: it is pretty much my own view as well. He has played RB so in theory could take Porro's place at the back and Ange could then try Pedro in the no6 BUT I guess that is something for next pre-season
The stress was so bad I felt like crying for the whole of the last 5 minutes 😅
