- This video shows how to unregister / unpair an AT&T EL51203 or EL52203 from its matching base so that it can be paired with your base. It should be noted that a base can only have 5 handsets linked. If you have 5 handsets linked, you will not be able to add additional handsets to this base.
So glad you decided to post this easy to follow fix. I was ready to give up and take the loss I paid for the phone on ebay. Thanks a bunch. Guys like you that take time out of their day to help others are so appreciated.

Mine is a different model, but I got the error on an AT&T phone. I messed iwth codes, but eventually just unplugged the base and plugged it back in with the phone in the base. The phone in the base and the other phone in the other room both worked.
There’s any way to delete the calls that we already made I mean the register calls in the redial 😊please urgently

I was able to do everything except get through the last step. It said "registering" for a long time so I walked away for several minutes. Now it says "see manual" again. I tried again and same thing happened. This problem began when I picked up the second handset because the one I was using needed recharged. Switching handsets during or after a long phone call is something I do regularly. But today is the first time I got the "out of range" error. I have unplugged and plugged into power outlet. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery. Any ideas on what else I can try?

I was following advice from andrew calvet given in his video Part 1, and when I did what he advised my hand set seemed to lock up, so that the buttons all do nothing. Now the phone just says "To reset H/S see manual". Tried to download a manual at Vtech and their site doesn't seem to recognize the serial number. Thought maybe you would know a remedy as the other guy won't respond.
How do I do vtech is8151 it thr long range cordless phone? This code didn't work

Hi, do you know if this phone has the caller id announcer feature?
I've gone through all my menu options and cannot find caller ID announcement. I have other phones that have this option, so I know what you're talking about, but this model doesn't seem to have it.
In addition to the instructions, I needed to disconnect and reconnect the battery in the handset prior to putting it back in the base station cradle for registering.

Everything was just as you said until, on the home base, after the "registering" 10 seconds "failed" appeared. Any ideas?

At times when you talk to someone you receive another call. Is there a way to answer it?
You may be able to answer incoming calls by pressing the green phone button. The current call should be put on hold, and you should be connected to the incoming call. Pressing it again should return to the original call.

That usually means there are too many handsets registered to the base. You may have to unregister all handsets and add them one at a time. I think the max on this system is 5 handsets. It's been awhile since I had these. This is an older video. Good luck!

Hi. The ringer is set on each handset, so you would have to turn the volume down on each one that you want silenced. One the handset, press MENU, scroll up 4 times (with round "volume up" button), select "Ringers" by pressing MENU, select "Ringer Volume" by pressing MENU. Handset will ring, and you can adjust the volume down by pressing the round "Volume Down" button until it is quiet. Then just press MENU to save the volume setting.
