Her sister saying that they keep in touch “here and there” and they both “have their own lives” does not sound like they were very close at all. I don’t think the family had any idea what was going on with her. I realize they are hurt and have just suffered a terrible loss, but all evidence points to Hannah intentionally walking away from her life and family. How would someone else be “doing this from a distance”? To still be saying she’s “in danger” is just denying the facts of the case. I do think, however, think that LAPD should have been more forthcoming with their findings sooner.
These are my thoughts exactly. Also the sister is questioning if the video of her entering Mexico is even her, and the police should have confirmed with the family. LAPD doesn’t need to do that with the technology and records they are capable of and clearly used to identify her in the surveillance.

Everyone is blaming the girl or calling her unstable. I left my family unnoticed and didn’t want to deal with them as well. It was an abusive household. The first person that came “looking” for me was my dad. Just like Hannah. There’s a reason why she left involuntarily.

Yeah, it seems like there are some dark family secrets that they all want to stay buried. I don’t know that there is enough evidence of a crime or that she is in danger, but it is a very unusual case.

She was estranged from her father. People don’t become estranged for no reason. Was he abusive? Was he a drunk? We’ll never know. She spoke to the airline multiple times to get tickets and get her bags re-routed. The airline would have recognized if she was drugged or under duress. This sounds like adult autonomy - someone from the police or embassy/state department was likely able to contact Hannah who expressed they did not want to be in contact with family. I feel bad for the family but this happens more often than people probably realize.

Also her father was a deadbeat dad, by his own admission he wasn't in Hannah's life, they were estranged and in one of his latest interviews he expressed the desire to reconcile with his daughter and also said that he has a lot of regrets
I watched an interview where they say the fayjer was estranged from his daughter until recently and is trying to make up for lost time. Watch dr. Grande video, he's a psychiatrist and immediately said (before police statement) that she was alive and left on her own. According to him and his experience, specially Hanna's texts, she is very clearly squizofrenic and or is having a psicosis onset. If the family knows of her mental illness issues this should be no surprise BUT as he noted perhaps they don't and her either if it's the FIRST onset or first psicosis event. In these scenarios it's normal for the family not to understand since they know knew a healthy individual but schizophrenia can start very often in 30s. The first psicosis is a strange event. Also her texts of being followed or needing to escape IS what these individuals do and for them it's real. Even if her dad passed she might be hiding due to fear. MENTAL illness is the most probable cause and this family either knows it well or can't accept it. Go to Mexico she needs mental assistance not the police.
She may be mentally well and finally free from them. I saw a recent story of a women who wanted to get away. Took off and never responded to the family. She finally stated she wanted to be gone. Note how the aunt and sister are not even on the same side.
For everyone shouting, family and the lawyer included, “release the video?!” Consider the the video is not LAPD’s video to release. The officer said he “reviewed” the footage. The video would belong to US Customs and Border Protection. That’s a different process than just getting public or private property surveillance video. Just a thought.
It’s also a security issue to show the public videos of boarder footage. It reveals where camera are and where agents are positioned. Plus privacy issues if there are other travelers in the footage.

An adult woman takes time out from her family and her life after a serious break-up, and some of the relatives assume she's been trafficked, then they hire a lawyer and a team of investigators to pursue her, while they start bickering among themselves. Search is still ongoing for the family bit the police say it’s voluntary so they closed it. I heard it from the police themselves that it’s voluntary, she’s safe and it’s closed.
Her missing persons case is now classified as voluntarily missing. It doesn’t mean the case is closed. It means they no longer actively search for the reasons stated.

The police probably stop communicating with the family because they started twisting the story to fit their narrative. Saying she is trafficked and in distressed when she wasn’t. The family was also blaming the police of not doing enough. LAPD don’t have jurisdiction over the federal border patrol. The is a protocol and it probably takes time to get the videos. LAPD said they even crossed to TJ to get accurate information of her whereabouts. They went beyond their scope and jurisdiction. Believe me LAPD would not travel from LA to TJ to look for a missing person.

There’s a case of a missing lady who traveled to Puerto Rico and was found in a nursing home 3 decades later. She was not puerto rican nor had family or friends living there. The reason she decided to leave her husband and family was the fear of being placed in a mental institution. A social worker, who worked for the nursing home, was able to put the pieces together and solved the mystery. The social worker contacted the State of Pennsylvania and BINGO!

Watch dr. Grande video, he's a psychiatrist and immediately said (before police statement) that she was alive and left on her own. According to him and his experience, specially Hanna's texts, she is very clearly squizofrenic and or is having a psicosis onset. If the family knows of her mental illness issues this should be no surprise BUT as he noted perhaps they don't and her either if it's the FIRST onset or first psicosis event. In these scenarios it's normal for the family not to understand since they know knew a healthy individual but schizophrenia can start very often in 30s. The first psicosis is a strange event. Also her texts of being followed or needing to escape IS what these individuals do and for them it's real. Even if her dad passed she might be hiding due to fear.
MENTAL illness is the most probable cause and this family either knows it well or can't accept it.

The video would belong to US Customs and Border Protection. That’s a different process than just getting public or private property surveillance video. Just a thought.
It’s also a security issue to show the public videos of boarder footage. It reveals where camera are and where agents are positioned. Plus privacy issues if there are other travelers in the footage.

Hannah’s dad was abused by her dad so she cut them off. No father would commit suicide 2 weeks into his daughter’s disappearance. A loving father would keep searching for eternity. The family is hiding something. Let her be free! This is not a missing person’s case. This is a waste of resources.
Search is still ongoing for the family bit the police say it’s voluntary so they closed it. I heard it from the police themselves that it’s voluntary, she’s safe and it’s closed.
Her missing persons case is now classified as voluntarily missing. It doesn’t mean the case is closed. It means they no longer actively search for the reasons stated.

It keeps her name in the system to be alerted if she were to have her ID ran. She would be notified that she’s been reported missing and encouraged to contact the reporting person. Discernment could be made by Officer at that time to lightly “investigate” safety of her situation. If she’s truly at free will on her own, officer just reports her siting. A closed case would not offer that.

They will not detain her. But her name will show up as having crossed back over Im talking about should she or any other voluntary missing person be pulled over or otherwise detained by law enforcement for any other reason. Lawfully crossing back into the United States is not a crime.

They're not going to detain her. They're going to stop her and ask her if she's safe and okay and will tell her that her family is worried for her and filed a missing person's report. If Hannah says she's okay then that's it. They'll let her go on her way and tell her family she's okay. If she says she needs help then they'll help her.
The LApd will be informed by border patrol about her reentry into U.S. when her passport pings but will not detain or arrest her in any way. Maybe perhaps do a welfare check to ask if she's Ok but legally she has broken no laws. Her family and the GFM $$ another story.

If LAPD was communicating with the Aunt only then why is the rest of the family telling the public to not listen to her that she's not a reliable source. To me she would be a reliable source. I feel for Hannah's family. I'm sure they're scared for Hannah and may not want to expect the fact that Hannah may have done this willingly and is safe. LAPD said Hannah did make comments about possibly doing something like this. Whatever the outcome is I hope Hannah is safe and the family gets answers to her disappearance.

WOW!! I can't believe the police knew about this picture and ONLY sent it to the Aunt when they could have sent it to the Sister and Bio Father and the Mother. When did the police know about this November 13th picture of walking into Mexico? Why did the police not tell the family before the public? Could the picture and knowledge helped the Father not commit suicide. And now the Aunt is no longer working together with her niece, the mother and Uncle. This just gets more complex. I am so sorry that this is what it has to come to with the Aunt and really the police.

The police probably stop communicating with the family because they started twisting the story to fit their narrative. Saying she is trafficked and in distressed when she wasn’t. The family was also blaming the police of not doing enough.
LAPD don’t have jurisdiction over the federal border patrol. The is a protocol and it probably takes time to get the videos. LAPD said they even crossed to TJ to get accurate information of her whereabouts.
They went beyond their scope and jurisdiction.
Believe me LAPD would not travel from LA to TJ to look for a missing person.

Just like the parents of the Idaho killings when investigation was going on, they were saying the police were not doing enough and not informing them enough. This is how the family is feeling. If it was a member of your family or your child, you would want to know more. The bio father died, and they had that information long before possibly? When someone is missing and they get these strange texts, all kinds of things run through your mind. You have to understand that.

@ first of all the father was with the aunt as a team in LA searching for Hannah, they were the communicators with LAPD. Second, the dad is now deceased. Third the sister and mom should go out and look for Hannah instead of bashing the people who actually did look for her, including LAPD. LE does not have to communicate information with every family member. If her sister wanted to be the point person she should of came to LA, but instead she’s running a PR tour.

There’s a case of a missing lady who traveled to Puerto Rico and was found in a nursing home 3 decades later. She was not puerto rican nor had family or friends living there. The reason she decided to leave her husband and family was the fear of being placed in a mental institution. A social worker, who worked for the nursing home, was able to put the pieces together and solved the mystery. The social worker contacted the State of Pennsylvania and BINGO!

@@MsK_1111 i would be doing what they did, leaving my home in Hawaii and flying to LA and looking everywhere for her and using the press and internet to get help. Why did the police not tell her family that she walked into Mexico Nov 12th? Is that not fishy to anyone? Just because there is footage of her walking alone it doen't mean someone doesnt have her and is using her to traffic drugs or trafficking her. I don't know whats happened, all i know is people in the US must not be that close to their families because i dont care what police say, if i know my sister i know my sister.
Perhaps there is a family secret which caused her to leave & may even give cause to her fathers actions.
