His dad really has an uphill road to climb. First, he's a foreigner in South Korea. Second, he's divorced. Third, he's a single parent of a mixed race child. His chances of finding someone to marry him are limited to say the least. His chances of finding employment let alone on a stage are limited as well. For all of that being said, he has a really good disposition.

@@omadjourney Difference is that women gets lots of support from everywhere, where as men usually get nothing. Men are shown no mercy in this world, women, children and dogs get all the help and sympathy

@@k-doc467 it is quite common actually.. I am not sure if you are a korean or not. If you are I believe you won’t get to relate to what he was facing here..
My friend (he is a south east asian) moved to korea a couple of years ago and he encountered many situations where the seniors (the elderly) would treat him pretty rudely and they would ignore him sometimes just because of his lack of proficiency.. he told me, his friends who are fair skinned and looks a bit like the locals always get to work part time jobs pretty easily etc unlike him .. he gave up and moved back here lol
Oh and the rude ones are usually seniors (late forty+). The youngsters are mostly okay.
They way the subs said “kid woke up and chose to speak facts” has me rolling on the floor🤣

When the thumbnail shows Daniel, but the episode is more about his dad... Hahaha. I cannot imagine the struggles of a single parent in a foreign country, let alone a country not too open to foreigners. And having a desire to perform on stage, yet having it dashed because of language is hard. But I can understand those giving the audition. I once watched a musical where the main character had an accent and the whole time I was watching the show it really disturbed me such that I couldn‘t enjoy the show. Sometimes facts of life get in the way of dreams. Unfortunately. At least he has a job he can fall back on. Fighting!
Interesting bit of trivia: the legendary actor Sidney Poitier resoundingly failed his 1st acting interview because of his really thick Bahamian accent. He self-studied relentlessly to lose his accent. Not only did he eventually start getting acting jobs, but he became, of course, the first Bahamian and first Black person ever to win an Oscar award for Best Actor. So to Daniel's dad - FIGHTING!!!! 🥰💯🥰

I really wanted to see them on The Return of Superman, Daniel's dad is really a super man who does everything for his son. The new family that joined was Sayuri with her baby son Zen, she's a solo mother and is doing very well, I would like to accompany them both in the same way 🤲🏻

This is funny, I’m half Korean and my mom came to the states (although much younger than this guy) and had me. My mom and dad got a divorce, so my mom raised me. It was a messy time so he didn’t really raise me for a long time. It was hard for my mom cuz we were also financially struggling. We’re rebuilding our relationship now as I’m older and I showed this. He told me, this is like our situation but totally switched. my dad is also Jewish so this was even funnier. He started feeling emotional watching this cuz the guy said “it’s hard but it’s also not at the same time, because I love raising him” my dad told me “i envy him because I should have picked the harder life just to be with you.”
@silkyeoja - Life can be odd that way. But at least you are able to rebuild the relationship. Some people never do that at all. Best to you! 🙂

Daniel teasing his dad with the meat is like me and my dad. My dad is catholic and doesn’t eat meat on Fridays so whenever I have Ekaterinburg on Fridays I tease him with it.

Same in china i am a ligth skinned mexican and they even kicked me out of a hotel just for being a foreigner, i had a black friend and some chinese people even told me they would never hang out with blacks
It's interesting to see them show the realities of life for foreigners in Korea rather than try to make it look like sunshine and rainbows.
