Melbourne is best place in Florida. Mansion also has a great liquor store with many hard to find bourbons and whiskeys (for those so inclined). Also downtown Melbourne has annual St. Patrick (some of us say it's better than Eau Gallie's lolol).
Looking for a retirement location (somewhere!) in Florida - how busy does Melbourne become with vacationers during the summer months? Is congestion a major issue? We'll be coming from a small, quaint town in PA and want a peaceful, laid-back lifestyle with access to lovely beaches. The Gulf Coast is appealing but just sounds too busy and chaotic for us as we age.

Actually the East Coast of Florida is much more congested, populated than the Gulf Coast...

Disappointed that Melbourne now too is being overdeveloped. This means SKYROCKETING Cost of Living follows. Property Taxes go Up. HOA’s.
