1-29-2023 I visited the chapel on this date. You needed a reservation because the frescoes were undergoing restoration, and only a limited number of people were permitted on the scaffolding. It was an amazing experience to be looking at these amazing works at eye level a mere 8 to 10 feet away. If you are in Florence to see this chapel, make sure to also see Masaccio’s Holy Trinity at Santa Maria Novella, the church across from the train station. The entrance to the church is around to the back.

To think that Masaccio died at 27 or 28years is astonishing, miraculous, that he created such supreme work. All these artists were phenomenal.
