You might not be user friendly, but definitely 1 of the best heavy equipment mechanics I've seen to date. Keep up the good work your videos are awesome

That CARB bullshit is going to put all the small time truckers and equp operators out of business .And I think that's what the big box stores want than they can control the store and how things get there. I am glad to see you are willing and able to work on that shit . I feel on day it will be dealer only for all repairs and that candy bar at the store will cost $10.00.

Not far from the cost of candy bars. Fortunately, there's been right to repair wins, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Here in Brazil, I have reconditioned these heat exchangers, I change the hive, I install a more resistant one

Not sure if Deere recommends it, but I know Cummins and Volvo both recommend to vacuum fill their cooling systems especially when you have a cooler off, because it alleviates air pockets in the corners of the cooler, which will burn them slam up as soon as you get a good load on the engine. Also, those look like they would probably be more prone to failure because there isn’t a vent built in to the top. I wonder if that’s something they’ve since fixed?

I retract my previous statement, I didn’t watch far enough to see the vent line.

You can’t beat the power they make when everything is working. The concept is great also. Kind of like the old and rare water injection that could put a little water in to essentially raise the compression by taking up volume in the combustion chamber. Throw that sooty exhaust back in to clean it up, and it will run like a raped ape.
The 9.0 is such a nice 4 valve machine. But it came off the drawing board 100% engineered to coexist with an EGR valve and cooler. Most of the ones I’ve seen deleted lasted a year or two before needed a rebuild. You’ll never be self sufficient and make your own fuel with anything that’s common rail on up to full tier IV. So if fuel goes to $10/gallon, we’re paying it. No planting some canola and buying a press and refiner. It will not work well in todays engines.
But, like I said, when it’s all working good, they’ll run circles around any of the old dogs. I don’t care if it’s a big cam 865. A 9.0 will pull it in half.
That’s surely not a 9.0 in that little thing, but my point is still true.

I just replaced three EGR coolers two on 6105e and one on a 6140r all three under warranty at less than 1000 hours.

Thankfully, my tractors are all pre-emissions. Since I’m not a huge commercial farmer putting thousands of hrs a year on my stuff they’re going to last me the rest of my life. If they break, I’ll fix them before I ever buy one of the newer smog nightmares.

Is it possible to do an EGR delete òn a 6105R without these tuning guys and their laptops?
Or is there no other way than reprogramming the ECU?

NoFear380 Unfortunately the ecu is to smart, once it sees low Egr flow or anything unplugged it will derate the engine.

someone once told my to buy another egr temp sensor, put it together and let original sensor be. then cable tie new sensor to a pipe or something, that way the new sensor would not measure correct egr air temp and not open up the egr. does not know if it would work though

Seems like you're as fond of Pape as most people who have had to do business with them. My dad had a gravel pit and would buy from Holt in Portland rather than Pape in Redmond when they were a Cat dealer.

Brett Goodman Yeah I get most of my parts from Evergreen implement in Othello now. If they are in a real big hurry we get them from Pape. I liked it alot better when Donny Boyd had the John Deere dealership.

+JSokil These guys could do it on these farm tractors, there is no one watching them.

I was wondering the same thing why not delete at least for the off road equip, Of course the California registered on road vehicles will have to preserve their emissions systems.

How ridiculous, I can't believe that all these new engines are so poorly designed to the point that to get to damaged or faulty parts you have to tear so many parts off just to get to the part that needs replacing. They should design engines with all the mechanical parts directly accessible and put all the other bullshit emissions garbage in a separate compartment of the engine bay. But that would actually make sense then...

Aaron Chrivia That emissions junk probably triples the amount of down compared to the older equipment.
