I loved ♥️ ❤️ ❤️ The Car. Most underrated horror flick of the 20th century. His two "kids" on that flick are real-life aunts to Paris Hilton, if I'm not mistaken.
I had the horn sound from "The Car" as a ring tone on my phone. I also had the "Emergency" station tone (Beee Boo Bahhh,,, ) on my phone for when my wife (ER nurse) called.
I love “The Car” my sister and I walked down to our local theater and saw it when it came out. My uncle followed us around with the lights off to scare us. IT WORKED!
You can always relate to an old car buff. James taking it slow and easy in that gorgeous ‘37 Ford truck. Nothing like going slow in an old ride, while enjoying the scenery.🚘

This was edited incorrectly. Brolin was referring to The Amityville Horror not The Car when he mentioned the highest-grossing independently made movie. The Car was a Universal Studios production and flopped at the box office at time of release.
But in the world of cult classics, the CAR is still right up at the top. Also, the windshield wasn't lowered, the body line was brought up higher, thats the stock windshield.
JB is great. I envied his great hair and good looks. Chad Everett too. Brolin was great in ABC’s movie of the week, when he got stuck in a NYC subway during an sudden earthquake.👏
It’s amazing, Jay creates this great UA-cam channel and the TV studios takes it and makes a typical overproduced version of it. Much prefer his normal channel productions.
My mom was in love with James from the opening credits of Marcus Welby. We even went to see Capricorn One at the movies ( a midday matinee). If she were still alive, she would still be crazy about him.
Just after Jay told the story about flying the Kite at the Nudest Beach . James should have said . Yah well i got Kicked out for Pitching a Tent .lol .
In addition to James Brolin, Kevin Bacon, Rick Ross, Ray Liotta, Scott Eastwood, Tim Allen, Cedric the Entertainer, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Jeff Gordon are also in Season 6.
The Car was not an independent production. It was financed, produced and distributed by Universal Pictures with a wide release and a big marketing budget.
I worked at Fantasy Cars and got to drive The Car many times. I can't believe there was no mention of the fact that the windows were not tinted. They were painted black from the inside. When you drove it, you had to have a spotter outside giving you directions through a CB radio! Not bad for loading and unloading it at car shows, but it would be terrifying to drive it on an open road like they did in the movie.
Jays living the life! Love the ford PU and the Triumph but that gas station is incredible! Where the heck is that? Would love to drive up in my '66' convertible corsair monza for a full up!
Yes. I believe there are 2 real ones left… One in a private collection and another one somewhere in Europe, but nobody knows what happened to it. I heard sometime ago that a kid bought it cause he was a fan of the movie and made some adjustments to the interior of The Car.
Awesome interviews about the movie on the filmSCHOOLarchive channel of Elliot Silverstein, Geraldine Keams and Special effects guy William Aldridge. Would love 2 know how they made the idling sound and horn sound

Wow, how did Jay Leno, of all people, not know itnwas a Lincoln Mark lll, not a Mark ll, the Mark ll was a totally different car with an entirely different look and design from the 50's 😮
The Car really was a terrific movie. Some people thought it was cheesy horror, but it’s quite well done, dramatic, and Brolin is terrific in it.

James Brolin. Great actor. Nice guy.

I always liked James Brolin’s acting, his son Josh is a really good actor too.

He was nice to me.
I was there when he died.
I also had similar Ford PU. Mine was a 67' Ford F100 with a 352 V8, 6' stepside bed that came out just 28 years after his.😁👍
Watched Marcus Welby as a kid in England….. just for the Triumph. Such a cool guy that Brolin.
"Bought "The Car" DVD from Amazon yesturday. Should get it ina week. Good memories :-) !"
Wow! I learned SO much about The Car!!! Thanks for ALL the reminiscing. 🙄
I learned how to drive when I was 12 in 1977 in my dads old 1949 ford farm truck, no power steering or brakes, hydraulic clutch & 3 on the tree!
My sister wouldn't walk down the street alone after seeing The Car!
It seems easy to evade a car.
When Jay said "I LIKE THAT TRUCK", James Brolin should've said, "YOU DON'T HAVE ONE OF THESE, DO YOU"?
I watched Marcus Welby as well in my youth. James looks incredible for being 81 years old!
He might be the youngest looking 81 year old ive ever seen
JB is great. I envied his great hair and good looks. Chad Everett too. Brolin was great in ABC’s movie of the week, when he got stuck in a NYC subway during an sudden earthquake.👏
JB makes 80 look pretty easy.
It’s amazing, Jay creates this great UA-cam channel and the TV studios takes it and makes a typical overproduced version of it. Much prefer his normal channel productions.
Yeah, TV producers don't give a F*** about cars. That's why they bring famous people and blow stuff up. It's so normie...
CNBC probably pays him serious dough to do this. The other is funded by UA-cam, assuming his channel is even monetized.
It does bring more folks Jay's way, so all the better no?
The Car is one of my all time faves! Brolin was great!
Cool Ford Truck & even cooler actor. Thanks Jay. 😎👍🇨🇦
Simpler times, a great era of TV 📺. Recall seeing it on ABC TV Network
3:06! You can tell James Brolin is like "UGGH, don't remind me of that one." lol
I like how he put his doctors bag on the running board instead of in the truck bed.😆

does anyone know where that old gasstation is,or where i can find more photos of it?
That gas station looks like the one James hid out from the bad guys in Capricorn One
James Brolin looks good. He looks like he has taken good care of himself and still has a thick head of hair. He's also an excellent actor.
Too bad Jay Leno hasn't been able to drive The Car. It's an awesome looking custom continental.
NOT ENOUGH TALK ABOUT "THE CAR"!!!!😖😖
That Bonnie I think was a gift from one of the executives trying to get Jay Leno to sign with them
I love the Car!!!
In addition to James Brolin, Kevin Bacon, Rick Ross, Ray Liotta, Scott Eastwood, Tim Allen, Cedric the Entertainer, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Jeff Gordon are also in Season 6.
That desert gas station reminds of the one Elliot Gould and Telly Savalas rescued him from in Capricorn One.
The Car was not an independent production. It was financed, produced and distributed by Universal Pictures with a wide release and a big marketing budget.
That confused me too. But it was a huge hit.

Who knew Brolin was a Ford guy!?...Dad Shepard would love the Lincoln of 'the Car'!!

Cool detail on the truck the shifter knob had the V8 emblem. I always thought The Car was a made for TV movie..guess I mixed it up with Killdozer.

Something about 1973 Westworld that was frightening for me when it came out at 13.
I read the novel before I saw the film and the remake starring Ryan Reynolds.
The car used in 1977 movie the car was actually a Lincoln Mark 3. 1968-1969 The Mark 2 was not used in the film
