The New Pope: My Return (Season 1 Episode 8 clip) | HBO - Розваги
Why Jude Law dont use this style in his casual life? This hair is so good for him.
It's a hairpiece, his actual hairline has receded a lot more. A bit like Kevin Spacey in House of Cards
That’s the first time that song’s played since last season. I missed that song.
levo - iffy
What song is it
This show is refreshing. No warriors, no heroes, no nudity... Just a politic game where the contestants have words and tactics.
No nudity? I think you're watching the wrong show!!!
@@nachtjager77 or better say less nudity than oters
Actually it has more nudity than Breaking Bad
Have you actually seen this show? There's actually quite a lot of full frontal nudity in this season.
wow you are so smart. No one catched your obvious references to GoT. You are so clever.
It’s the music that brings back the Young Pope for me. This show may have very well saved my soul.
I loved that awkward moment when they were about hug to say goodbye 💛
What sound is this! This ambience sounds so natural, warm, deep in the right measure. HBO, Congrat the audio engineer, please.
levo - iffy
Wow, I wouldn't notice if you didn't mention. Great observation. The sound is so natural so I kind of forgot of it, paying attention only to the plot.
Love this show's score. They have a nice nuanced approach without beating you over the head with it.
Such a great series. Such writing and talent.
I love this scene… it’s like Superman and Batman finally teaming up and joining powers
That first shot is amazing. The pool is a halo around his head.
Pío XIII had reason. Napoli won Coppa Italia 😂
The bit at about 2.20 is genius, where the gym equipment appears as a wooden crucifix in the middle of the room. Perfect symbolism.
Just one slight problem, Jesus was nailed to a stake, not a cross. It was the custom in those days.
@@christineribone9351 word of advice - don't be pedantic.
@@alfredthegreat194 the whole thing is just a fairy tale anyway.
Adore Jude's wink.
Who's here after Napoli 2022/23 Serie A Champion ?
Lol. I wanted to write a similar comment.
Jude Law should play a biography of Robert Shaw. He is almost identical, but dressed like this, he looks like Shaw did in From Russia with love. It is uncanny.
Very first shot is spectacular. Jude Law’s head encased in a ring. In many catholic paintings those who are saints are given such a crown to denote their status. Brilliant brilliant stuff from the director.
Nice to see Voiello working with Lenny instead of against him.
The gyro tonic apparatus is a nice touch. They don’t let just anyone buy that, though I’d bet they make exceptions for Popes and Jude Laws.
What do you mean?
I like the aureola made of pool above his head. This show is so clever with all the poetic nuances
I love how Lenny changed from the, zero compromise. Almost super villainish I’m two dozen steps ahead of you., blazing ball of chaotic charisma. To this more sedate relaxed charmer
That's our pope
They are after all, friends
The character Pius is an American Pope, how could he be interested in European football? Seems pretty weird for Voiello to ask him even though he might have really got some signals when in coma. Then again, how would Voiello think those signals are associated with football and Napoli?
I think Voiello's just being sarcastic . Why would the pope have visions about soccer ?
I'm from Naples, here people give a lot of importance to football, the writer of the show is from Naples too and I interpretated this scene as an humoristic one, in fact we can see in Voiello the perfect representation of the neopolitan soccer fan, maybe this kind of humor can be understood only by italian people
@@chiaraquaranta169 The point is why Voiello asked an American Pope (of course not Jude Law the actor) about soccer who is supposed to have no knowledge about it. I sort of agree there was sacractism going in the conversation.
Because Lenny was that close to God and Voiello isn't going to miss that chance to ask.
I think he was asking because Pius was 'dead' and therefore 'in God's presence' if you will and learned as much as he could about everything going on in the mortal world.
Probably a throwaway joke on Pius' part but definitely a wink wink to the audience.
When the music starts... *game time*
I miss this show.
Does anybody knows what’s the title of the background music in the ending part? Thanks
It's "Recondite" by Levo ;)
Song title name please Thanks
levo - iffy
I think the new beanie guy is Michael W Smith's doppelganger...
I’m confused didn’t this show premiere last year but they keep saying is season 1
Technically it's season 2 of this "Pope" series, but last season was called "The Young Pope" while this season is called "The New Pope." Their both chapters of the exact same story, but technically different series.
*they're
@@garrisongosling7739 The chapters are nothing alike.
@@garrisongosling7739 how bout you just edit your comment instead of creating an addendum? Just a thought.
@@CherylB745 He didn't say they're alike. He said they're in the same long story just as a book with different chapters.
Whats the song title?
Brilliant
And look at that, Napoli did win the Serie A.
Wait did this show come back?
Yeah, we need Jude Law to play Ataturk.
2:27 Jude Law looks like Ataturk. He can easily play that role.
You mean the underground station in rome or the eponymous president?
@@Thisworldisupsidedown Of course, Jude Law is well suited for the role of a station.
@@SocratesAlexander It would be, heck, static.
Ok, apparently Ataturk is a BUS station in Rome. I was wrong on at least 2 levles.
Guy's, Beyin means the former first presedint of Turkey. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. " Father of the Turks." Check Wikipedia.
Jude - ТАЛАНТИЩЕ!!!!
I didn't saw the New show but I hope Pius XIII gets back to his rightful position as Vicar of God.
popes don’t come and go. they are for life.
he got sick, so when he got out of coma he returned
Napoli winning CL? Nope
Interesting this title coming out when the pope now may have coronavirus
Miss Mia Culpa 🦠
so basically this is how you make a religious show look and sound like Mr Robot.
Napoli hahahaha
Like a jock
The New Popeye: This is My Body, This is My Blood, This is My Spinach! 😂
New role for Jude Law: Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
Would be gorgeous!!!
This show was moving to slow it's a shame because the young pope was awesome to me. I see some people really like this season but I found my self skipping a lot of the dialog to see what happens next
My guy, this season is waaaaay better.
2nd seasons sucks. Dialogue isn't as engaging
Exactly, it would have been better if the show was more dramatic and with exciting scenes . But still the vibe of the first season was better than the second.
The dialogue is what's happening.
Like a chumppppahhh
You mean European Cup?
You look better blond
Is this pope evil? He seems evil to me.
He’s just a troubled man, like many of us.
More of an antihero
Am I really the only one to dislike this series … despite the excellent acting?
This is a load of rubbish! Nothing whatsoever to do with Catholicism.
Shut up bhaleri more like bhalerina
@@user-lm7lv8dz8g I’m rather fond of ballet, as it turns out. Stop your rudeness. I am just as entitled as any other human being to air my views. And my view is, this film is RUBBISH.
Ah, but it does. We question many issues, especially when young. Age is a gift of wisdom in retrospect.
@@haven0916 Yes, you are correct, Cher. We do indeed question many issues, I did myself, putting God on the back burner and sailing off into New Age “Enlightenment”! For a while. Explored other religions. But not for long. I was too grounded in authentic traditional Catholicism. But thank you for being polite. I do appreciate that.
@@Bhaleri it's essential to respect the opinions of others, but we can disagree without being disagreeable. I respect your vantage point. I was a church gypsy for many years, but came back to my roots in the Catholic church. Had it been explained then, as it is in this fictional account, perhaps I would have understood precepts better. The Pope in the first season, for example warns against "passionate love" and instead pushes 'to love with tenderness.' In my youth, I would have rebelled against it. That's youth, right? That said, I do respect your opinion. Discourse can be so healthy for us all.
This is just about the stupidest movie ever.
It’s a TV series
