    I’m new to rug hooking. What kind of foundation backing do you use? Does it depend on what the rug will be used for ie rug to walk on or wall hanging, as to which foundation backing you choose? Thank you

    I wish the camera angle was one that when you "clipped it" your hand didn't block the view! Also, I really wish the camera was in focus when you were hooking the sharp points of the star. Great, valuable information, just hard to see for beginners like me.

    Hi, I just came up on your video and really,enjoyed.
    I have a question for you.
    What kind of frame do you use, I want to start hooking but, I want to learn,about frames, and the different types, of wool or yarn, and hooks.

  • @annakatrina448
    @annakatrina448 4 роки тому +2

    It seems like that hook splits the yarn quite often, or am I hearing something else? I LOVE that hook that is larger at the part of the shaft that connects to the handle, but the hook itself seems tiny. I am not an experienced rug-hooker, so I don't know.

    • @w.cushingco.7414
      @w.cushingco.7414  3 роки тому

      It will split some times but you need a larger shaft to open the hole

    The sharp point tips is awesome. I often use hand spun rug yarn for hooking. I gather this technique should work for yarn as well?

    Здравствуйте! Спасибо, мне очень нравится Ваша работа! Скажите, а если потянуть за петлю, не распустятся остальные петли?

    New to rug hooking. Can you tell me how much room you should leave between your hooking design, and the edge of linen.
    I have made my own motif for a rug. I am transferring it to linen, but want to be sure to have enough room for run finishing. So, what do you believe enough room left for this should be?
    Thank you for your response.😀

    This may be a dumb question, if you are trimming off the top of the point: how is the yarn not being pulled through/ unlooping if it has been cut? Is it because there is enough tension on both sides holding it in place from the other loops?

    • @w.cushingco.7414
      @w.cushingco.7414  2 роки тому

      yes there is enough pressure to keep it on the top

  • @GrowingGreener
    @GrowingGreener 3 роки тому

    I may have missed it but what do you do on the underside of the rug. I never see you cut the wool/yarn. When using the same color and moving to a new location are you just leaving the length on the back? Thanks

    • @andreadimmick8105
      @andreadimmick8105 3 роки тому +1

      All ends are pulled through to the front, then cut, if you were to leave them on the back, the ends could snag and loops could easily be pulled out.

    Hello Lisanne! This is an amazing craft. On my last visit to the States I bought myself a little kit, not knowing anything about rug hooking. What really is mind boggling to me is the back of the work. It easily can become undone if you mistakenly pull a piece of fabric. I tried to find the answer on the web but can't find anything.

    • @w.cushingco.7414
