Great video. I love rug hooking and have dabbled with it many years ago. I am very envious of the supplies for rug hooking in the U.S. as here in the U.K. it isn't such a popular craft and supplies are limited. I may try to do a doodle rug on a small scale and try to get back into it. Many thanks for sharing your video and I love your big Santa.
Many thanks! Have fun with alternative fibers like yarns and wool clothing!
Your santa is one of the prettiest hooks I have seen. Just love the dimension on it.
Thank you!
Your Belsnickle is so handsome …luv him
Thank you!
Oh my, I just stumbled across your video. I have totes full of will, patterns, tools, cutters and who knows what else. I had two aunts who made hooked rugs for years. They dyed and cut their own wool. One aunt designed all the patterns. They were old farm girls and during the long dark winter nights they would sit and hook. They made the most beautiful rugs, and I am lucky enough to have two. Unfortunately I never had a chance to sit and learn from they but I do have all the supplies. One day I will find a place to maybe take a lesson or two.
It is wonderful that you have the supplies from your aunts to begin your rug hooking journey! If you are near Maine, we do offer classes
Love your Belsnickle! 😮
Thank you!
Great video.
Thanks so much!
What a great presentation, very clear. Thank you! And Reseda Green is one of my favorite colors ❤
You are welcome and Reseda Green is one of my favorites too!
I am getting back into rug making What fabric did you just use burlap Fabric used for hooking
The backing fabric is linen which is what we use as it lasts longer and a more even weave
Thankyou for showing the different techniques and textures you can add for embellishments.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much Lisanne...I'm determined to learn this beautiful art in 2025...love from Canada
And I know you will learn it!
Beautiful.
Wow so many different materials I didn't know existed. Thank you
I love the background designs you show in your videos. Do you not have a website for purchasing patterns? Thank you
we do www.wcushing.com
Thank you !! Merry Christmas

Thank you and hope you have a Merry!
I love the hook you are using with the silver handle. Beautiful.
Thank you!
Thank you for the demo on sculpting. I haven't tried that before. Maybe some day. A Merry Christmas to you and yours. Looking forward to seeing you in the new year.
You are welcome and a Merry Christmas to you!
Oh my goodness, I am a new hooker. I finished my first rug (wall hanging) . I will now take it off the wall and throw it in the garbage. I can see I did nothing right. At first I thought it was beautiful. Back to square one.
My first piece is. not my best work. . .anything you create it beautiful!
Great video. Thanks for explaining the greens in such detail. I’m always too cautious about what colors will work together and what won’t, but I liked your “road map” suggestion.
You are most welcome! So glad you enjoyed the video.
I love your videos and your work. You are so genuine . There is a rug hooker on you tube that is using people for her financial benefit and it’s so disgusting and unethical.
Will you be kitting this ?
Betty we can, just call us and let us know phone is 207-360-0792
Thank you , love those collections of greens. They are so juicy and rich for the holidays. I hope you and staff have a great Thanksgiving. Looking forward to more exciting holiday hooking. You are amazing and thank you for your time spent with us.
Thank you! Hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving.
How do I find the photo’s? Could you send a facebook link? I don’t know what to search for. Very interesting dye lesson. Thanks.
Betty they are up on my FB page or email us at orders@wcushing.com

Wonderful and so glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Lisanne. Loved the history, museum and the rugs ❤
Thanks Carol, so glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this video! 💝 🪢 💝 I’m hoping to use my tufting gun for some knot rugs, tufted tapestries ect. There’s barely any info of any tufted knots online, mainly embroidery. So I do really appreciate this video! Sometimes you need to hear someone else to help you process your own creative ideas! 💡 it can be tricky when it’s an uncommon practice, my friends look at me blankly when I mention it ahah.
I really enjoyed reading the latest issue of RHM!!
What side piece is the wool?
one yard
@@w.cushingco.7414 thanks ☺️
Where are photos of the finished wool shown?
on the Rug Hooking Magazine Facebook page
Fantastic class! Thank you so much for your video! Regards from Argentina
Great points😂
Luv this pattern ….they were all amazing to see at Sauder 👏👏👏
Wow, "sharp little points"! I never knew this trick, thank-you!
Do you have a video about how to choose a rug hooking frame ? Do you have to have all sizes for the different size projects? I have used a hoop but it is so hard getting it tight where you have hooked already. Thank you for your help.
Your rug hooking frame is personal and everyone likes something different! I do go over frames in Tools of the Trade Video
Are you using yarn or wool strips?
I use both
Thnx Lisanne…such good information ❤
You're so welcome!
Thank you Lisanne for showing all the flesh tones. I learned a lot. See you next time
