The very first tune I EVER heard from Maiden. and it was back in 1983. A very good friend of mine introduced me to maiden and the first song he showed me was To Tame A Land. Needless to say that I had my mind blown... To this day, Piece Of Mind is my favoriet album. EPIC !!
I struggle with this one but I had someone help me learn it not too long after this came out. I struggle more with some of the parts of Los fer Words and Phantom of the Opera. There are plenty Iron Maiden songs I have never even attempted.
This sounds exactly like the record inspite of the poor overall quality of the video and sound. It’s a testament to how good Dave and Adrian really are. This is a rare piece of art found and UA-cam is a museum !

My all time favorite Maiden song. It's THE reason I read the Dune series. This is such a different kind of song from everything else that was happening then. I was 14 years old in '83 and would have given my left nut to be at that concert. I did finally see Maiden a few times, starting with the Live After Death tour, but would have loved to see NotB and PoM tours, as they are my favorite albums.

Ty frank herbert for being against metal, because although Dune is a great name for a song, To Tame a Land is so much more epic. And I think the song portrays Dune better being named to Tame A Land More than naming the song Dune because it adds a brand new meaning to the story in my opinion. I love the name of the song
How in hell they passed security by bringing in a camcorder to this concert, specially the size of the camera at the time. That's the reason we don't see much of old-school live concert videos in UA-cam, because cameras, even tape recorders weren't allowed in concerts. That's amazing!!

i seen this tour in Ft Wayne IN...there might have been 1500 people in the audience that night...maybe less...made it quite easy to get all the way to the front...badass
This is one of my favorite Maiden tunes from Piece of Mind. Those first 3 albums with Bruce were amazing! They sound fantastic here! No surprise! I've seen them a few times and they're on point every time. Lucky enough to never have seen them on a 'bad' day.
My favorite Maiden jam of all time. Never saw it played in concert and I've been going to shows since the mid 80's. Dune just happens to be my favorite book series as well.
Such a great f in song! That drum beat! Those guitar melodies! The instrumental section where bass players hands cramp from just listening. That vocal scream,. the gong! Truly epic. and a deeply heartfelt thank you for posting this.

Me too. If you notice Harris didn't move at all, Bruce couldn't and try hitting those high notes, Harris said, and as a bass player myself, it's the hardest song to play, that's why he's not moving on stage, 😊
Great to hear them play this one live. Maiden's next LIVE album should be a collection of all the songs they have played live that have yet to make it to a live release... and then they should release a live Blaze album for us serious fans.

I ALMOST DIED THIS MORNING!!! I was driving across the 520 bridge and my car suddenly swerved left and I almost broad-sided the barrier, which would have flipped me instantly, because I was going about 85 mph in a 55 mph zone. Luckily, it was early enough in the morning that no one was on the bridge. Or that I didn't get pulled over... I mean, how am I supposed to explain that I was HEADBANGING too hard to the MOST AMAZING IRON MAIDEN SONG EVER?!?!?!

If I recall, Frank Herbert hated heavy metal and so he refused permission to use the title of his book, hence the change.

This and Genghis Khan (perhaps Transylvania too) are the ones I always struggled with on the bass.
First time trying to learn this on bass was PAINFUL ... literally.
