****UPDATE: I figured it out! ...and without breaking it! Okay, the rocker plate does, in fact, come off with extra exerted force as I originally thought. the trick to releasing it without breaking is: Using a stiff pry tool (preferably non-marring such as glass reinforced ABS pry tool) but a medium size flat head screwdriver will work in a pinch. Going at only one side at a time, have the rocker plate in the "high angle" position and you will see the two points that attach it to the mouse. It is snapped in and can be snapped back out but care must be taken not to break the posts that hold it in place. Using the pry tool, slide it in from the outside end (not between the two attachment points, but from the opposite side), and while pressing the posts (attachment point) toward the other (toward the center of the mouse), also pry the plate away from the mouse body, GENTLY. it will finally snap out, and you can do the same to the other side. Now you will have access to all the screws holding the shell together, and not have a broken shell that needs to be super glued back together!

Thanks a lot for this video!! One interesting thing for me is at 8:50 you show the scroll wheel button. I didn't know it was placed on the right side of the whell shaft. Now I know how to click with less force - still too much force required for my liking, but a bit easier.

Hi, could you tell me the thickness of your blade?

there's a ton of screws you didn't show how to remove, like the one directly under the rocker.

Same, as far as I can tell from the video they were already taken out. Without proper tools, there is no way somebody will open this.

Looks much harder to open compared to Logitech MX Ergo. I am waiting for my order of this EM01 to arrive as a secondary trackball to my MX Ergo, kinda starting to get buyer's remorse...

Very useful, I was wondering how to get into it. My buttons seem to stick pressed down so thought there may be an issue. I don’t get definite ‘clicks’ when pressing them, is this normal or does yours do the same?

I guess that it might be a defect on button component itself...? Have you tried to see if those button components working fine?

It was designed that way... to have a "silent click". Unfortunately, that inherently means that the buttons are super sensitive. So even the slightest pressure, for me just the weight of my ring finger resting on the right-click button, will trigger a press. I want to love this trackball mouse, but the overly sensitive buttons are going to be an issue for me. that's how I found myself here, to see if anyone else had opened it and how before I potentially break something, in an attempt to see what can be done to stiffen up the mouse click buttons.
**** I too, noticed that he skipped the removal of the screws from underneath the grip angle rocker plate. Those were clearly removed when he shows the top half of the shell separated from the bottom. We want to know! I can get the 2 on the right side just fine. I was thinking that maybe the plate was only attached by some snap-ins of some kind, and that maybe with just a little extra force it could be snapped out of place? But it doesn't look like he ever removed his; didnt even show us how its attached during this teardown.
****UPDATE: I figured it out! ...and without breaking it! See my comment on main thread.
