1. Political Background:

2. Eknath Shinde's Appointment as Chief Minister:
The Governor’s decision to call Eknath Shinde was based on the claim that Shinde had the support of a majority of Shiv Sena MLAs, combined with the backing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With this combined majority, Shinde was seen as the leader who could command a stable government.
Eknath Shinde was subsequently sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, with BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis as his Deputy Chief Minister.
