I adopted a rabbit from Binky Bunny Tales Rescue back in 2021 and volunteered for a day helping to take care of the rabbits. While I could tell Jennifer was overwhelmed, she really did go above and beyond in caring for all these rabbits and making sure all their medical needs were met. I even met her children and her husband, who clearly adored the rabbits as well. These are good people, just trying to do the right thing with what they had. I applaud them for being able to do what they did for so long and save the lives of so many rabbits that had been abused and abandoned. She had a lot on her plate, but there wasn't a ton of resources or a ton of aid available...This is an incredibly unfortunate situation, but I hope some good comes from it...and the 200+ rabbits that were seized...well I just hope they're taken care of properly and treated right; that's what Jennifer and her family wanted.

"the rabbits [have to go] before your own kids..." there's the issue. the rabbits actually look very healthy, happy, and have clean & spacious cages. but there is absolutely zero way that someone, especially a parent, taking on 200+ animals of any kind at the same time by themselves is mentally healthy. they're probably being taken because there's issues with the care of her children and family.

It sounds like the rabbits were doing ok in her care but the judge said something about her putting the rabbits before her kids, so maybe it's more to do with that rather than her being unable to care for the rabbits. Still, over 200 rabbits is way too many for one person and one volunteer to care for.
